Chapter 4: rumors

Haylee.

I woke up to my alarm going off, I can’t believe it already Monday. I didn’t really wanna go to school, I had a test today in Math and History, and I didn’t study for either of them which isn’t like me. Plus I don’t know if Brandon is gonna do anything to me. I sat up in bed, and looked at my phone, I had a message from Ian.

Ian: Goodmorning beautiful, hope you have a good day today, I’ll see you later. :)

I smiled at the text, just then my mom knocked at my door and walked in. Forgetting to reply to Ian’s message.

“Hi honey, just making sure your up.” She said to me. “Can you ask Addison if she will drop off your sister off at her school? Your dad is already gone, and I have to go into work early, they just called I have to leave now.”

“Yeah sure, I am sure she won’t mind.” I said back.

“Thank you, love you.” She said before walking out. I got up and got ready for school, did my hair and makeup, then figured out what I wanna wear. I didn’t like anything in my closet. I wanted to wear something cute cause I was seeing Ian after school.

I finally picked out a cute top with my leather black shirt. I was about ready when I decided to text Addie.

Me: hey you almost here? My mom asked if you can drop my sister off before we headed to school. She got called in early..

Addie: I was literally about to text you, I just woke up, I’m not even outta bed yet, I am running late. Avery agreed to take you to school. I hope that’s ok.

Me: yeah. Ok I’ll see you at school.

I went down stairs and sat on the couch scrolling through i********:. When I heard a honk outside.

I screamed for my sister, she came running down. We walked outside when I saw Ian.

“That’s not Addison..” Erica said.

“No this is Ian, Addies brother.” I replied.

He came up and gave me a hug, as he hugging me he whispers in my ear..

“You look hot today.”

“That’s was the plan.” I said as I winked at him.

As me and Erica were walking to the car, I looked back and he was so checking me out.

“Take a picture it last longer,”

“don’t temp me.” He said

We all got in the car, and listening to some music, I went to take a drink from my water bottle then that’s when my sister asks,

“So is this your new boyfriend?”

I immediately chocked on my water. Ian chucked at me.

“Uhm no he’s just a friend.” I said to her,

“Yeah ok and I am married to the Easter bunny.” She replied. “I saw you kissing him when he dropped you off yesterday.”

I looked over at Ian and he had an big a**smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes,

“Uhm it’s complicated.” I replied to her.

“So friends with benefits?”she asked.

Omg, why is this happening. I mean my sister is 13, she know all about s*x and what not.

“No its not any of your business anyway.” I said to her.

“Least he’s hotter then Brandon that’s for sure.” She added.

I looked back over at Ian, he is laughing silently.

I rolled my eyes and just looked out the window.

We have dropped off my sister, and was on our way to my school.

“Well that was fun.” Ian said,

“No it wasn’t.” I said back. “I can’t believe she saw us kiss.”

“So what is the big deal?” He asked me.

“It’s just your not my boyfriend, I didn’t know how to explain to my 13 year old sister, what is going on.” I said.

“Well you weren’t lying, we are friends” he said.

My school and my sisters school were only like 5 minutes, we arrived and I was about to get out of his jeep when he grabbed my arm,

“Excuse me, aren’t you forgetting something?” He asked.

I looked around and trying to figure out what I was forgetting, then I realize what he was talking about. I gave him a kiss before I got out of the vehicle. I waved good bye, Maddi came running up to me,

“So you got yourself a college guy, huh?” She said to me.

“Not really it’s complicated. We’re friends.” I said to her,

“Ok whatever you say.”

We walked into school I went to my locker, as Maddi and I went talking that’s when I saw Brandon come up to me.

“So you got a new boyfriend?” He asked me looking mad.

“None of your business, just leave me alone, Brandon.” I said to him.

“No I am not, you’re mine, so that f******* loser better stay away from you.” He said to me.

“I ain’t your girl anymore. I got me a college boy and there’s nothing you can say to make me want you back over him.” I said, lying to him to try and get him to leave me alone.

He got up close to my face, “we will see about that, whore.” He walked away.

I walked to my first class, and decided to tell Ian.

Me: hey.

Ian: hey beautiful, miss me already huh?

Me: I just want you to know in case one of your friends tell you..I told Brandon we were together. He wouldn’t leave me alone, told me to tell you to stay away from his girl and such. So I just came out and said it.

Ian: I am cool with that, let him think we’re a couple. :)

I put my phone away when my teacher started walking around the classroom.

By lunch time, Brandon had spread around the whole school that I was a w***e, and that I was the one that cheated on him, thats why he was with Megan that night, to get back at me.

Addie walked up to me, and sat next to me. “So what’s going on? I have heard so many stories today.”she asked me.

I explained to her about everything, starting to get upset. This is our last month in high school. I didn’t want it to end like this. I decided after lunch I was gonna just go home, I called my mom telling her I didn’t feel good. I didn’t want to call Ian to come get me cause then I would have to tell him what’s wrong. My mom said she would come get me.

I left school and went home to lay in bed. My mom knows I don’t leave school early unless I’m deadly ill, she came into my bed room and asked what’s wrong.

That’s when told her everyday, starting with the party on Friday night. My mom is the parent I could tell anything too. She hugged me and gave me some advice. I ended up falling asleep, I just needed a nap.

Ian pov:

I been helping my dad out today, getting things done around outside the house.

“Thanks for your help, son. When are planning on getting back to school, don’t you have exams to study for?” He asked me.

“No problem dad, yeah I going back later today. I waiting for Addie and Haylee to get outta school.” I replied.

“So what is going on with you and Haylee? I know you don’t do relationship but there seems to something going on with you and her? He asked.

“Dad, to be honest with you, I don’t know. I mean we’re friends, but no with benefits. She’s special plus she’s Addies bestfriend. I don’t wanna try something and then f*** it for everyone.” I replied.

“Just be careful.” He said to me.

Just then Addie pulled up into the driveway, I was excited because I was gonna get to see Haylee. But I notice it was only Addie in the car.

“Where Haylee?” I said to her as she walked up to me.

“She left school early, something bad happened at school today.” She said.

“She told me that Brandon started s*** with her today and she told him, we were dating to get him to leave her alone.” I said.

“Well that back fired. He went around the whole school telling everyone that she’s a w***e, that she cheated on him with you, that’s why he hooked up with Megan that night,” she said to me. “There was a lot more spread as the rumors spread. She ended up leaving after lunch. She was pretty upset, I tried calling and texting her but no answer.”

I grew pissed, went inside to get my keys, I got in my car and drove off. I drove to Haylees first to see if she was ok. I knocked on the door and Erica answers,

“is your sister here?”

“Yeah she’s in her room.”she says.

She let me in, she showed me where her room was, I knocked on in, and went in.

She was sleeping on her bed. I walked over to her and slightly shocked her shoulder to wake her up. She woke up and turned and seen me.

“You think you can take naps without me? I said to her.

“What are you doing here?” She asked me.

“I came to see if you were alright, Addie told me what happened today.” I replied to her.

“Awe you didn’t have to!!”

“Yes I did. I don’t like seeing you upset. Let alone hearing about it.” I said.

She sat up, giving me a kiss.

“Thank you, you stopping by cheered me up.you coming home next weekend?” She asked me.

“For you 18th birthday. Yes! I wouldn’t miss that.” I said smiling at her.

“I gotta go tho, I need start heading back to school, text or call me anytime this week. I am gonna miss you, babes.”

“I am gonna miss you too.”

I got on top of her and gave her a kiss.

“It’s gonna be alright. Don’t let him get to you. Just keep your head up. Just think in 4 days, you’ll see me again.” I said to her, gave her another kiss before getting off her.

“Can’t wait,” she said to me.

I walked out of her room, and walked out of her house. I got in my car, I drove past this like hang out spot where teens go to a skate board but it’s wasn’t a really skate park. When I glanced over that’s when I was Brandon. I made a uturn and park on the side of the road. I got outta my car, some of my friends were hanging near by. Brandon is talking two girls with his arms around both of their waist.

“Yeah, you said Haylee is the w***e but you standing here in public trying to pick up two Girls at once,” I said to him as I walked up to him.

“You know she is a w***e, she left me for you, and not even that good in bed.” He replied.

“Oh really, that’s why you were kissing Megan at a party, where you knew your girlfriend probably end up being at?” I said out loud so almost everyone could hear.

“You know Megan, the real w***e of the school, hooks up with people one or two times at once. And if she was sooo bad in bed, you wouldn’t of tried to get her back all weekend, like a little b****!! I added.

“You need to stay away from Haylee, and keep her name outta her mouth.” I said told him, I walked away. That’s when he got up and punch me, I punch him back, and it was now on. We started punching the hell outta each other, until two guys pulled us off each other.

Maddi, came running over to me, and so brad and mike. I felt Maddi grab my phone, and call someone. After she put my phone back in my pocket, I went to get up. “I’m fine, im fine” I said

I got up and walked to my car. Once I was in it, I just sat there for a minute. Next thing I know, my phone is ringing, it was Addie.

“Where are you?!?” She said to me.

“I am in my car, why?” I replied.

“I just got the voicemail from Maddi from your phone saying you just got into a fight, and I needed to come get you.” She said to me.

“Addie I’m fine. I ran into Brandon. Warned him to say away from Haylee. He didn’t take it so well, so I kicked his ass.” I replied.

“I’m heading back to school, I’m serious when I say I am fine. I’ll see you Friday.” I added before hanging up.

That’s when I was on my way. 2 hour car ride, should I have drove after gotten into a fight? Probably not, but I ain’t scared. I arrived back in school. I walked into my dorm room,

My roommate, Alex was there studying.

“Man, what happened to you.” He said me,

As I got a wet rag to clean myself up,

“I got into a fight back home before coming back to school.” That’s when my phone beeped.

I pick it up and it was from an unknown number.

Unknown number: sends video attachment.

I watch them video and it’s me walking up to Brandon and everything plus the fight. I showed my Alex.

“My first question is who’s Haylee.” He asked.

“Haylee is my sister’s bestfriend. The girl I have always like.” I replied.

“Wait you in a relationship now?” He asked me sounding shocked.

“No were not we’re friends..” that’s when I explain almost the whole weekend.

“So she’s making you soft, good for her.” He said.

“I wouldnt say I was going soft.” I replied.

“Oh yeah? Ashley, Noelle, and Missy called for you yesterday. They were all wanting the same thing!!”

“I’m good” I said.

“Ha see! It’s ok buddy, sometimes it takes one girl to make a bad boy good.” He said to me.

“Whatever, I am gonna go work out.” I said.

I was working out and decided to take a mirror selfie and send it Haylee.

I had no shirt on just my gym shorts.

Me: **sends attachment**

Missing me?

She didn’t reply right away, I got back to working out, I worked out for another hour before hitting the shower and heading back to my dorm room. On my way to the dorms, I ran into Missy. I have hooked up with her a few times,

“Ian! Did you get my messaged I wanted to see you last night!!! Figured we couldn’t had some fun, she said winking at me.

“I am going to have to pass, mIssy.” I said to her.

She grew annoyed, “when do you ever say no to this?” She said.

“Now..”. I said walking passed her.

Even though Haylee and I aren’t in a relationship, I feel like I would be cheating on her if I went and hooked up with other girls. S*** what is happening to me. I walked back into my room. and that’s when my phone beeped.

Haylee: sorry I left my phone home, when I went out with my parents. Damnnn! I am definitely miss you. ;)

Me: you enjoyed that, babes?

it took her a minute to replied back.

Haylee: YOU GOT INTO ANOTHER FIGHT WITH BRANDON??? What did you do go seek him out after leaving my house?

Me: no I ran into him. Well saw him, while I was driving by!

Haylee: Well don’t start fights unless he starts it first please? I hate fights and drama and I’m already dealing with it enough! :(

Me: I am sorry, Haylee. It just pisses me off what he did to you.

Haylee: I know. Thanks for sticking up for me. :)

Me: again, I always got you back, hayles.

Haylee: thank you. I’m gonna head to bed now. Goodnight.

Me: goodnight beautiful. :)

With that i played video games with Alex for the next couple hours then headed to bed myself.
