“Thank you, Mister Poole.” Petroc turned to find the other Midshipman near the binnacle. “Mister Trewellyn, have my gig cleared away. I’ll want it in the water as soon as we anchor.”
The Midshipman hurried away, and Brin Harvey collected his oarsmen as they moved. The ship turned into the wind and the flurry of orders saw the sails vanish into their harbour stow. A burst of further activity about the boat tier hoisted the gig from her cradle inside the launch, and swayed her out using the whip halyards rigged to the end of the fore and main course yardarms and beneath the tops
