New Alliance“The crown prince is seeking to form a Northern Alliance. The tsar is willing and so is the Prussian King.” Count Storbacka smiled across the dinner table. “I believe your government is also considering his proposals.”
Petroc nodded, his wine glass turning in his fingers as he relaxed at the table. His welcome, particularly from Miss Silke, had been heart warming, and had strengthened his feelings for her. Now he tried to be polite as his host lingered over the Rotspon. “I believe so, my Lord.” He smiled. “I understand the admiral is in favour of it.”
“Herr Weiss has confidence that der Herzog von Mecklenburg-Schwerin will join as well,” the Freiherr added.
The count raised his glass. “We have hopes for Hannover and others as well.”
