Chapter 1: G
(Haven's POV)
"Bye, Mom" I said to my Mom as I alighted from the car.
" Bye honey"
" No crying, Mom"
"Yeah, I won't." She laughed it off. The driver stepped on the gas and sped off. I turned around and looked at the tall building Infront of me.
"Chula Vista prep". It read on top of the building. I took in a deep breath, walked into the building and headed straight to my locker. Ivy was standing at her locker right next to mine.
"Oh, hi Ivy." I said rolling my eyes when she looked my way. She looked a lot better than the last time I saw her.
"Is that what you say to a friend you have not seen in weeks?" She said stamping her feet.
"Why are you overeacting? I thought I came to visit last weekend." I said not even bothering to look at her.
"I am talking about school. You have not seen me in school for so long. Why can't you even ask about how I am doing?"
"Ivy, you u look fine. The fact that you're even arguing with me over something as baseless as this, shows you're 100% okay." I closed my locker and decided to walk away as she followed me.
"Of course, I am fine. But as a good friend you should at least ask".
"Says the person who was still crying over a guy two days ago." I mocked her.
"Well, I am over him now. Like they say, if you get hurt just cry yourself a river, build a bridge, and get over it." She said as she hooked her arm in mine, dragging me to class. She changed the subject and started talking about our clothes.
Ivy is such a lovely person but sometimes I just can't keep up with her energy. She loves parties, fashion and boys. She is a daddy's girl with everything at her disposal. Her mother owns the second biggest and most popular television station in the country.
Her dad is one of the biggest show and movie producers in the country. She was literally born to be a star.
But with all that, she still always find herself in the worst relationships. Almost all the boys she dates dump her or play with her feelings. Just two months ago, she was dating a young promising footballer. He wasn't that bad. I just didn't like him. But then again when did I ever like any guy.
He was six foot tall, his skin chocolate smooth, dark eyes and his lips that were kinda thin. He had a lot of hair though, reminded me of Rambo in First Blood. He was indeed very handsome but he's just not my type. Ivy went crazy over him when he scored three goals for our school last year in the national inter-school games. She chased after him and finally got him to date her. For weeks they just got on my nerves, showcasing their "love" everywhere. Kissing on the field, locker room, and even in the classroom.
But eventually, the boy cheated, on her, twice. Ivy couldn't handle the heartbreak. She got sick and had to stay home for a couple of weeks. I had been so worried, but at least she ws fine now.
I smiled at Ivy and she smiled back at me. I almost forgot to mention, Ivy is so beautiful. She has blonde hair, strawberry blonde hair. Her eyes are so huge and a crystal coloured blue. She was slim, the kind of body you'd see in a Victoria's Secret catalogue. Sometimes, I wondered why she was not a model. But then again Ivy is just very Ivy.

School Cafeteria- Lunchtime
Ivy and I sat on the table with our other friend, Becca.
Becca is usually quiet so Ivy was the only one talking on the table.
"... you should come." Ivy said to me.
"Mmm... what?" I wasn't really listening to her.
"I said you should come to the party today." She said.
"What party?" I asked suspiciously.
"The girls' get together party."
"You mean that bull s**t gathering you guys always do each month?"
"It's not bullshit, Haven."
"Then what is it?"
"Fun, we talk, we party and we..."
"Yeah, all you do is talk about boys isn't it?"
"Come on, Hav. Come just this time."
"Can't come. I have a photoshoot right after school."
"Can't you reschedule?"
"No, you know the company is about to launch their new jewellery collection and I am their brand ambassador."
"But it's super important you come too. We are just trying to help you overcome your androphobia?"
"You think I have androphobia?"
"Isn't that what you have? Everyone knows you hate boys." Ivy asked, a serious look on her face and I returned her stare.
"Thank goodness, I found you guys." We looked towards the source of the voice. It was our friend, Priscilla.
"Hey, Prissy." I smiled as Ivy rolled her eyes.
"I got a date." She announced, the whole table turning silent as we all stared at her.
"Ha, is this one of your pranks?" Ivy finally asked.
"I'm serious", she repeated. There was silence again. "... someone say something already".
"Congrats, Prissy." Becca finally said, turning back to her food. Sometimes, I wonder how we became friends with Becca, anyways.
"Good luck." Ivy said sarcastically.
"Well, it was Noah who asked me out. We are going for a street carnival down in little Italy and Haven is coming with us." She said.
"WHAT?!" Ivy and I shouted.
"Yes, he is a huge fan of Haven's and he was over the moon to find out you were my best friend." Priscilla continued to say.
"Bullshit! I can't believe you are taking your best friend to your first date with your boyfriend." Ivy said.
"And what is wrong with that..."
"EVERYTHING. Can't you even see how wrong it looks!", Ivy screamed at Priscilla.
Oh gosh, here they go again. Ivy and Priscilla just like arguing way too much.
"He wants to meet Haven." Priscilla argued.
" Well, then he's not right for you. He is clearly using this chance to flirt with Haven. Haven is a supermodel. She is beautiful, hot, sexy, basically everything that describes beauty. She is super popular and all. You really want to take such a beauty on your date? Sorry, no offense to you Priscilla, but she's so going to outshine you."
"You know nothing, Ivy. Say a word again and I will punch that stupid face of yours to a pulp."
"I will not shut up!"
"ENOUGH!..." Becca shouted at them. "This is up to Haven to decide." Silence reigned at the table again.
"So... Haven, are you coming or not?" Priscilla still sounded angry.
"I'm sorry Priscilla but there's no way im going, not even if you beg me a hundred times. And, if you ask me, I'll say, break up with him. I know you've been chasing this guy for like a whole year but he tried to make advances on me before and I refused him. Maybe Ivy is right. He is just using this as an opportunity to flirt with me again." I said
"I can't believe this. You know how much I love this guy, Hav. If you don't show up... he, he, he'll be so disappointed. I can't believe you can't even do this little favour for me ", she said storming off.
"Prissy...!" I tried to chase after her but Ivy held me back.
" She'll come around. If you want to apologise to her, you can always come to the get together?" Ivy said. I sighed, she really wanted me to come this time.
" Yeah, Haven. You should come" Becca also said. Why did they even want me there so bad. There was only one way to find out.
───
I rescheduled my photoshoot and went over to the get-together.
" I am so glad you made it." Ivy said when I entered the building the party was being held at.
" I really wanted to know why you want me here so bad. And where is Priscilla?"
" She isn't here yet but she will come"
Ivy and I walked into the the main hall. A couple of girls were there, dancing, drinking and talking. But when they saw me, they all stop what they were doing to stare at me.
" Yes, everyone the supermodel Haven Emerald is here" Ivy announced as everybody cheered. " So, let's continue this party!". "Woahhhh", they cheered again as the room burst alive with music. Ivy dragged me to the dance floor and tried to make me dance but I was just not in the mood to party.
I found myself on the sofa furtherest away from the dance floor the moment I found space to flee. Watching the rest of the girls enjoy themselves, I tried looking for Priscilla. I saw her immediately she entered the hall but she ignored me. I tried to talk to her but she kept ignoring me.
" Come on, Prissy. Don't be mad anymore." I said still tailing after her.
" Leave me alone " she said.
" We can talk about this. I just didn't want to ruin things for you by following you over there on your date". She finally paused at what I said.
"Not everyone is like you,Haven. You attract guys everywhere you go whilst some of us have to go so many extra miles just to be seen. You refuse to give them a chance but that doesn't mean the rest of us shouldn't. I don't even know why you still letting Matthew destroy your love life even though he isn't even in your life anymore" She said as I frowned.
" Who is Matthew?" Ivy asked. I was too focused on Priscilla I didn't even realise the music was no longer playing. Everyone stood looking at us. I didn't know how much they had heard but...
" Who is Matthew?" Ivy asked again.
" He is Haven's ex-boyfriend." Priscilla said as everyone gasped. I rolled my eyes.
"Is it true?" Ivy asked looking at me.
" Forget what Priscilla said. I don't want to talk about this" I said.
" So it is true" Ivy said.
" Yes, Haven has indeed dated before " Priscilla said.
" Oooooohhh we're definitely talking about it. Time to have a little girl talk", Ivy said, everyone staring at me in anticipation. How on earth am I getting out of this one?
