She's Back For Revenge

2501 Words
WEARING A REBECCA VIOLET trumpet evening gown, Aela stepped out of her car and walked towards the red carpet that led her to the waiting area of the newly opened resort, Soleira. Several clicks of cameras and blinding flashes greeted her as she walked elegantly, holding a small silver and glittery purse in her hand. "Your dress looks stunning, Ms. Coppola! Who designed such a glamorous dress for you?" a reporter asked when Aela was near the entrance to the waiting area. Aela turned her head to the male reporter and gave a sweet but formal smile. "This dress was made by our family's designer, Madam Cleofas," she answered before pointing out some details that were on her dress. She explained the reason behind the small details on her dress, why she chose the color, and why she chose that kind of dress even though she used to wear a-line evening gowns at previous gatherings. The reporters hurriedly took note of her words, to have a better scoop of the news. After all, the designer of Aela's dress is not just a simple one. Madam Cleofas is known as one of the best designers in Italy. Despite her old age, she can still make dresses and suits that can compete with the designs of new and young designers. Having such an accomplished designer to work for Aela means that their family is an extravagant one. Before the reporters could add more questions, Aela was escorted by the event's marshals towards the waiting area, where various businessmen and nobilities in Italy gathered. It was separated from the common people outside, who they considered lower than them. After all, Soleira Resort is exclusively for those huge business personalities and members of the nobility. People immediately greeted Aela the moment she entered the waiting area of the resort. They all wanted to talk to her mostly because of her museum and her foundation, which is a win-win situation for Aela. She had prior commitments on this day, and she just accepted the invitation in hopes of finding partners for her museum and sponsors for her foundation. "I heard that your foundation's anniversary celebration was a success, Ms. Coppola," a businessman who she thinks is just a few years older than she spoke. "I'm Count Carlo from the House of Bellini. I heard about your generosity, my lady." Aela grabbed the fabric of her dress with both her thumb and forefinger before giving a curtsy to the nobleman. In modern Italy, noble titles don't really hold as much power as before. However, a lot of these nobles maintained their wealth and influence because of their generational riches. "I feel so honored to be praised by a fine nobleman like you, my lord," Aela responded with a polite tone. "Thank you for giving recognition to my foundation. My staff and I are doing our very best to help those children in need." "There's no need to thank me. Most of the people around here knew about your success and how your foundation was able to help children and their families," the count replied before handing Aela a small card. "I would like to be one of your sponsors. My mother specifically requested to be one with the foundation. I hope you'll accept our help." Aela accepted the calling card of the count before nodding with a smile. "Your help is very much appreciated, my lord. I will contact you within this week to finalize the sponsorship. I'm wishing the House of Bellini a great success for your kind actions." More people approached Aela in just a few minutes of staying in the waiting area. She received calling cards from several people, most of them wanting to sponsor her foundation through monetary donations or through providing machines and medicines for the children. Some even volunteered to pay for the electricity bill of the foundation's building for those children, and one of them offered to provide solar panels to help. Her museum also received promotions from various business entities. While being the center of attention and being surrounded by several people, Aela felt pairs of eyes staring at her from afar. And she wasn't wrong when she saw Ignacio, her ex-husband, and his new wife whom he married three months ago, Serafina, glaring at her as they stood alone on one side of the waiting area. Aela decided not to let any negative energy ruin her night. She's been doing well for her business and foundation. She made new connections that can help her in the future. Giving attention to the likes of Ignacio and Serafina will only bring bad luck to her. The peace in Aela's mind went on until the ribbon of the Soleira was cut by the owner of the resort, and finally, they were escorted to enter the main lobby. Classical music played in the background as several waiters served various drinks to the visitors. Feeling exhausted from minutes of standing in high heels, Aela asked permission from the owner of the resort to use one of the lounges to take a rest for a few minutes. The owner gave her a request and ordered one of the female marshals to escort Aela towards the chosen lounge. "Thank you," Aela spoke to the marshal who left immediately. The woman sat on the couch and removed her high heels to free her aching feet. She massaged it gently to ease the pain. After a few minutes of resting, Aela decided to leave the lounge and go back to the lobby to interact with more people. When her feet stepped out of the lounge, she walked first towards the railings of the floor to look at what was currently happening in the lobby and also to check if the people she didn't want to see were still at the party. The lounge is located on the third floor of the resort. Just looking down at the ground floor is enough to make her knees wobble. The height from the floor where she is currently standing is equivalent to the height of a six-story normal-sized building. Each floor of the resort is huge in height. "Are they fighting?" Aela asked herself when she saw a small commotion in the lobby from above. A woman who looks just her age is standing behind the owner of the resort, and one can see how the owner is protective of the woman. The woman looked familiar to Aela. "Isn't that Sophia Leon?" she asked herself while squinting her eyes to get a better look. That woman was the topic among the elite circle, mainly because she had just lost her husband in such an inhumane manner. Aside from that, her late husband was also accused of attempted murder. As she looked around the lobby, Aela noticed that it was only Ignacio she could see. The old man was busy talking with other old businessmen, laughing and maybe trying to get an investment from them. She can't see his new wife wherever she lands her eyes. From her position, she has a view of the whole lobby, and she can see every person below. Besides, Serafina's silver dress is easy to spot in a crowd of people wearing dark and neutral colors. Just as when she was about to leave, a familiar voice echoed in her ear, speaking from her back. "So the divorced woman is here, hiding from the people," Serafina spoke with a mocking tone. "Are you now finally ashamed of yourself?" Aela composed herself although she was shocked to see Serafina behind her. She didn't expect that she was on the same floor. Did she also use one of the lounges or did she follow Aela on this floor? "Why would I hide? Why would I be ashamed of myself?" Aela asked while putting her purse in front of her stomach, creating a barrier between her and Serafina. "As far as I know, I didn't do anything to be ashamed of. I'm not a woman who clung to a married man just to receive a small amount of wealth." Serafina's face contorted with anger upon hearing Aela's insulting remarks. "At least, Ignacio chose me. I'm not a woman who was thrown out of her own house and was replaced by another woman, who is much better than her." "Oh?" Aela's eyebrows raised as she smirked at the woman in front of her. "You? Better than me?" she pointed at the woman before pointing to herself. "I don't think so, Serafina Tavano." Aela crossed her arms in front of her. "I'm a successful businesswoman. I own a foundation that gathered several awards in just under a year. Even if Ignacio threw me out of my own house and left me with nothing, I was able to build my own name from scratch. I got my wealth without being a leech who can't live without a man. How about you, Mrs. Tavano? Aside from seducing and stealing someone's husband, what else did you accomplish?" Serafina cannot stand the way Aela compares herself to her. She cannot accept that a divorcee like Aela has the guts to insult her and point out her weaknesses. She cannot stand how Aela made it look like she's someone who is heavily dependent on a man to live. If someone can hear their conversation, Serafina is sure that she will be a laughingstock. In the elite circle, women who were considered mistresses at first were considered a pest and a bad image for the circle. The fact that Ignacio had an affair with her during his marriage years was kept a secret by her husband. No other people knew about the affair. "I don't care about your achievements," Serafina rebutted. "Compared to you, I'm much younger, fresher, and prettier. Ignacio left you because you're an expired stock." Aela ignored the woman's remarks. Instead, she attacked her more. "The only aspect that you can be proud of is your appearance. But don't you know that you'll grow older after a few years? By that time, those qualities you're boasting about now will fade away," she grinned at Serafina while looking at her from head to toe. "Once you look older, your husband will leave you and will look for another younger woman. You'll also be an expired stock by then." "Besides, don't dare compare your face to mine," Aela added. "Despite my age, I still look beautiful and young. I didn't have any fillers or surgery. How about you? I heard Ignacio spent hundreds of thousands of euros just for you to achieve your current face." Serafina was about to respond with more insults when she heard a slap from the lobby. Suddenly, her eyes became dark and a devilish intent rose up in her mind. "You know what, Ignacio really wanted to have a perfect family," Serafina spoke while looking at the diamond necklace at Aela's neck. "He told me that we must remove every ugly part of our lives." Aela seemed to not get what the woman is talking about. She just c****d her head to the side a little and looked at her with questions. Suddenly, Serafina's hand reached to grab the necklace on Aela's neck. "Let me go!" Aela shouted to the woman. She thought that Serafina wanted to steal the necklace, which was the one that Aela's father left for her. She was about to scream for help, when Serafina turned her around, Aela's back touching Serafina's chest as she faced the railings of the floor. Serafina covered her mouth and whispered in her ear. "And you're and ugly part of your lives, Mykhaela," Serafina whispered before laughing devilishly. "Now, why don't you follow your child? I'm sure you already miss her." Before Aela could react, Serafina used all of her force to push the woman to the railings, down to the ground. Everything happened so fast the Aela wasn't able to hold on to something to save herself. Slowly, she felt the air carrying her, but she was just too heavy for the air to carry. In the end, she felt herself falling to the ground, to the lobby where several people are scattered. As she fell, she saw Serafina's smirking face before she turned around to escape from the crime she made. In the end, she felt the pain shot her core. She doesn't know if she already fell, or if someone miraculously saved her. But when she opened her eyes, she saw a woman and a man talking to her. "We'll send you to the hospital, okay? Hold on!" the woman spoke to her while touching her forehead to spoke it from bleeding. However, no matter how loud the woman's voice is, Aela cannot hear her anymore. Before they could even reach the hospital, Aela slowly felt her body giving in. Her whole body hurts, her eyes felt weak, and she can't feel anything but pain. As she was slowly succumbing to death, the last thing she can see is her child's smiling face. Suddenly, Aela felt a strong cold wind hugging her body. Her eyes shot open, and a familiar surrounding greeted her. "Didn't I die?" she asked herself. Aela touched herself and looked for injuries and wounds. However, she was unscathed. Confusion filled her face as she stood up to grab her phone, just to receive a call from her best friend. "Arianne?" she spoke on the other line. She was thinking that Arianne will ask her what happened in the event, but she was wrong. "Aela! We have a new sponsor for the foundation! Guess who it is?" her friend's voice echoed in the other line. Aela became more confused. If she can remember it clearly, Arianne also said the same thing before, and it also happened on a phone call. "It's Signor Amadeo Morelli! The owner of Morelli Empire! And he will donate one billion euros for the foundation! Can you believe it?" Waves of realization struck Aela's body. "Oh my god," she whispered as the phone fell from her hand. The sound of the phone hitting the tiled floor echoed in the room as the call was ended. Slowly, her eyes landed on her digital clock. There she saw the current date she was in. "I went back in time?" Aela asked herself. As if God heard her question, a newspaper man shouted from the road of their subdivision. "Signor Ignacio Tavano and Signora Serafina Calvesi just got married! Buy newspapers for more info!" the man shouted repeatedly. Upon hearing the name of those two people, Aela's eyes became cold and unlively. The things they did to her and her daughter replayed in her mind. She clenched her fist before imagining the two villains of her life, suffering in her hands. Now that she went reborn and went back in time, she will make sure to make them suffer. Aela wants a lot of things, but above all, she wants revenge. Only revenge.
