“Hey,” Becca said the moment I stepped out of the bathroom.
“Hey…” I stopped drying my hair to watch her. She looked okay, no sign of anything that should make me worry. “You okay?”
“Yeah,” Becca replied with a nod, “just wanted to catch up with you for a bit. It's been a while.”
I smiled and sat beside her on my bed ignoring my only towel attire.
“So, how was your night?” I asked, going back to drying my hair.
“It was…weird. Stephanie had a nightmare, I had to calm her down and coax her to sleep. Then, I slept and had my nightmare of Aaron coming back, trying to take you and Stephanie from me.”
I dropped the towel I was using to dry my hair, “how are you feeling?”
“Tired. I'm glad that Stephanie has school today, I need some sleep later in the day.”
