Note: The Teknovo-T71 is the specially designed suit used by Hunters.
It harnesses the Life force of a Hunter, commonly known as Qi, and transforms it into a source of power to boost the Hunter's abilities such as strength, speed, stamina, etc.
The greater the Life force(Qi) of a Hunter the greater the power harnessed.
*****
As soon as Hal said those words a blue box suddenly materialized from nowhere and landed on his bed.
"Huh? That's cool."
"I guess that must be the random box."
He looked up and could see his stat window floating in the air.
The status window felt like the most important thing now cause it depicted how strong he was.
Name: Hal Rodgraim
Level: 1
Class: E
Title: None
HP:100
LF: 3%
Tiredness: 0
[Stat]
Strength: 7
Stamina: 10
Agility: 8
Speed: 10
Intelligence: 5
Perception: 10
(Available points to distribute: 5)
[Skills]
Passive skills:
- Tenacity Lv. 1
- Composure Lv. 1
Active skills:
- Dash Lv. 1
The stats he saw were quite similar to the ones a beginner player would have in a video game, and Hal couldn't help but furrow his brows in annoyance, due to certain things.
Why the hell were his strength and intelligence stats so low?!
Was he as dumb, as he was weak?
No, he was a lot of things, but not dumb.
Hal wouldn't take that from the system.
"Hey, system, I think there is a glitch here. Won't you consider a re-do for me..?"
Hal said with a stern, yet helpless look on his face.
But the system gave no response.
Well, just what was he expecting? He was known as Humanity's weakest weapon for some reason anyway, and did you see his Lifeforce (LF)?
He didn't even reach the 5% half range for a rank E Hunter.
Just how sorry a case could he be?
Hal looked at the stats window again, his current stats points floating in front of him.
"I'm currently at level one, and my stats are at the bottom of the heap."
Well, he could only hope things would change.
He paid attention to the 'Skills' column.
Two passive skills called 'Tenacity' and 'Composure,' and then an active skill called 'Dash.'
The words felt kinda similar, and he racked his brain to try to remember where he had recently heard them from.
"Oh, I see."
Yesterday when he first saw the monster and didn't immediately run or faint, he thought he had heard a voice saying....
['Skill: Composure Lv. 1' has been learned.]
And while he was running for his dear life, he had heard the voice twice again, meaning they must have been the messages of him acquiring the other skills.
But of course, he was too busy trying to save his a*s from a land Craptor, or whatever that thing was, so he never paid attention to that voice.
Hal looked at each skill one at a time and confirmed the explanations available for them.
Passive skills:
- Tenacity Lv. 1
You possess untiring tenacity. When your stamina drops below 30%, this skill automatically activates and reduces all damage received by 50%.
- Composure Lv. 1
You possess a strong heart. Never faltering even in the face of adversity.
When faced against an opponent with stronger abilities, this skill automatically activates and strengthens your will to fight!
Active skills:
- Dash Lv. 1
The constant running fortified your legs. When this skill is activated, the Host's speed shall be increased by 20% for 5 minutes.
Warning: All skills can't be used once Health drops below 20.
"Ahh, this goddamn system, just had to go and put a limit on it, and yet another bad news"
But when he looked at it well, the system was kinda right to put a limit on it, cause it seemed like he learned all those skills simply by repeating them.
In other words, if he kept on repeating a certain action over and over again, and the right conditions were met, he'd have a whole new skill on his hands.
"Just like the way I learned 'Dash,' by running around like there was no tomorrow."
Hal said with a light chuckle escaping his mouth.
"This is just amazing."
Everything about the system just felt so unbelievable, yet it was real and seemed efficient so far.
He thought about how hard it was for a hunter to learn a skill. It took months of practicing before a Hunter could learn a certain skill to a perfect level and probably another year honing it into its maximum state.
But here he was learning three different skills on a whim. Although they were still at their lowest levels, still, this could very well count as a cheat.
Hal's heart began beating faster
A skill that could increase his speed by a lot, another that could increase his defensive abilities, and lastly, one that made him face opponents stronger than him.
Sure, they weren't as good as the ones used by higher-class Hunters, but they were still amazing to him regardless.
Next up, was his status window.
"It says here, that I have 5 additional points, huh?"
"Let's see..."
[Stat]
Strength: 7
Stamina: 10
Agility: 8
Speed: 10
Intelligence: 5
Perception: 10
(Available points to distribute: 5)
"I'm sure this means I can increase any of my stats points, so which one is it gonna be, eh?"
Hal's expression became serious as he scrutinized each stat.
'Strength is no doubt talking about my physical power...'
He quickly got the hang of what the stats such as 'strength,' 'stamina,' 'agility,' and 'speed' were talking about.
The problem was with the intelligence and perception stats.
Hal stared at them as if to bore a hole through them and a description suddenly appeared.
- Intelligence: It increases the host's knowledge of all kinds of monsters and tells their weak points. It also helps to examine the level of strength of any opponent faced by the host.
- Perception: Increases host senses, to feel, hear, and locate things within and out of his eye range.
"Hmm...so the intelligence stat was more like a monsterpedia, huh? Because its main function was dealing with information related to monsters...."
"I guess, that's why it's so low. As it isn't determined by my actual intelligence, but my knowledge regarding monsters."
While the perception stat was like a second eye or ear that made him feel things out of his range.
'Cool, like a spider-sense, huh?'
'Well then, since I now know the meaning of that, I guess it's time I decide which stat to fill up..."
Whatever the case may have been, he felt that he didn't need those two stats now.
He was a melee-type Hunter, so he needed things like 'speed,' 'agility,' and 'strength.'
With that thought in mind, he started filling up the stats.
"Add three points to strength and two points to agility."
He wanted all his stats to be balanced, as balance in the abilities of a Hunter was a major key to being an expert.
Tti-ring!
[Stat]
Strength: 10
Stamina: 10
Agility: 10
Speed: 10
Intelligence: 5
Perception: 10
(Available points to distribute: 0)
Hal looked at his stat window and slightly nodded his head as if in agreement with what he saw.
'My perception point was at the 10 mark, to begin with, I guess that explains my unusually acute sense of hearing.'
"Now to confirm whether I truly have increased in strength."
Hal got in front of the bed in the room and lifted it.
He felt a bit of weight, but he was able to pick it up easier than he had expected.
"Wow, that's cool"
'But how do I know if it's not just the bed that is light or if I have increased in strength?'
He racked his brain for a way to prove that, and his eyes suddenly lit up.
"The penalty quest rewards!"
Hal quickly opened the mailbox.
[Rewards for penalty quests are now available. Would you like to confirm?]
[Yes] [No]
"Yes!"
Hal quickly answered as he clenched his fist tightly.
[The following rewards are available.]
Reward 1. Three additional stats points.
Reward 2. +500 coins.
Unlike the Daily Quest reward, the rewards this time around were just two, but with it came a new reward.
"+500 coins?"
"What am I to do with those?"
Perhaps there was a*****e where he could buy things, just like the way it was in the video games.
Hal decided to put that aside for now and focused on the additional stat points.
"Just three this time around?"
This system seemed to be getting more stingy as the day went by. Imagine that it could only give him three points for putting his life at risk.
Hal quickly dismissed all those thoughts and cut to the chase.
"Add all three points to strengthen."
Tti-ring!
[Stat]
Strength: 13
Stamina: 10
Agility: 10
Speed: 10
Intelligence: 5
Perception: 10
(Available points to distribute)
Hal joyously whistled to himself as he saw his new strength stat.
He went back to the bed and lifted it again, and this time around, he lifted it with a lot more ease than before.
"Whoa, oh, o"
"It friggin works!"
His physical strength had clearly improved.
His heart was beating like crazy.
Thump, thump, thump!
The Daily quest would continue to show up, and the rewards would continue with it so long as he completed it every day.
Meaning he got to increase in strength every day.
This was just too good to act calm about.
Hal began swirling around the room as he whistled the tune of a popular song.
He was suddenly stopped by a knock on the door.
"Huh?"
"It's I, the Chief Nurse; I heard your voice and said to come to check if you were okay."
He heard a voice say from the other side of the door.
"Ah, there is nothing to worry about, I'm doing good.
Hal replied.
"Ok, if you need anything, just ring the bell, okay?"
"Ok, ma."
As soon as the Chief Nurse left, Hal let out a low chuckle.
"Of course, I'm perfectly fine."
"I just got the opportunity to increase in strength every day, so definitely, I'm doing quite well," Hal said with a fresh grin on his face.
As long as this unexplainable situation didn't come to an end? He would continue to be fine.
Besides that, the stat window also showed his level.
'Does this mean I can also increase in level?'
That would be cool. Hal could see himself going up the ranks.
Even if it was just up to the rank A, that would be awesome.
He wasn't even thinking about climbing up as far as the rank S, cause that would be too good to be true.
But at least he got the chance to get stronger, that in itself was enough for him.
"I'll get strong enough to not be bullied by anyone ever again."
Hal clenched his fist tightly as he made a vow to get as strong as he could through the system.
