Chapter 57When Thomas left the caravan without hurting her, Nadia was very relieved. She waited, listening intently for any sounds of him moving about outside before exhaling her bated breath and taking stock of her situation. He said he'd return in two days. Surely by that time she'd be able to free herself and make her escape, she thought. Nadia looked around for something to pry open the handcuffs but found nothing. She pulled at the chain to try and loosen it but it was securely anchored somewhere outside the caravan. Because the window was boarded up she had no idea whether it was day or night or how long she'd been there. Her bag containing her drawing pad, purse and mobile phone were tantalisingly out of reach. Nadia pulled and pushed at the handcuff trying to force it over her hand
