Chapter 31Angela arrived outside number 163 before Paul. Mrs Baxter was right. The ground floor apartment was boarded up and, by the look of the graffiti on the metal shutters covering the windows, had been that way for some time. There was no sign of Paul and Angela was anxious to look around. She climbed out of her car and tried to look in the side of the shutters but they were fixed tight. 'Where are you Paul?' she said to herself impatiently.
Unable to wait any longer Angela entered the close. She wasn't surprised to find the security entry system wasn't working and the outside door didn't even shut properly. The floor was covered in debris much of which was used syringes and condoms. 'God, what a place to live,' she thought. Angela banged on the door of the ground floor apartment but
