Light in the Darkness

Lina, with a loud and desperate voice: “Jack, please, calm down! Don’t make things worse. All I wanted was for us to be together again, like before. Why won’t you come with us? Please.” Alex, with a decisive tone: “Lina, you can go with them if you want, but we will not follow you. You have betrayed the team, you have betrayed us.” Lina, with tears streaming down her face: “This can’t be true… even you, Alex? First Noor, and now you?” Alex: “If Noor is opposed to staying with you, and she is being forced to marry Blake, then she is not in the same comfortable situation you find yourself in, Lina.” Mickey, hugging Lena with one arm: “Lena, it’s time to leave. There’s no point in trying to convince them anymore. Let’s go.” Jack, with a desperate voice: “Lena, please, don’t go. Don’t leave us like this…” Mickey, as he heads towards the exit: “I won’t tell Blake about what happened here. I’ll give you time to think and join us if you choose to. Think carefully before making your decision.” Jack, with a voice full of sorrow: “Lena, why? You’ve always been a part of us. We’ve always treated you well. How can you leave us now?” Lena, struggling to stop her tears: “I’m sorry, Jack, I just wanted to fix my mistake and bring you with me to the camp to reconcile with Noor, but I ruined everything, I’m sorry, Jack, you’ve always treated me well, even the last time you risked your life and brought me the microscope from the sunken ship.” Then she paused for a while, thinking, then said: “I will stay here, Mickey, I will not come with you, I will stay with my friends.” At that moment, all of Mickey’s thoughts were about the microscope she mentioned, which they had brought from the sunken ship. He then began to examine every corner of the cave until he noticed two full bags. Jack noticed Mickey’s focus on the bag and panicked that he would inspect it and find the weapons and ammunition. So, Jack rushed to the bag and took out the microscope, then closed the bag tightly so that no one could see its contents. After that, he went to Lena and handed her the microscope, saying: “Take the microscope, Lena, and go with them, you shouldn’t leave Noor alone at the camp.” Lena: “I want to stay with you, I don’t want to go.” Jack: “What about Noor? Will you leave her?” Lena: “No, I won’t leave her. In fact, she will also come here. Mickey, can you bring Noor here too? We want to stay here.” Mickey: “No, I won’t bring Noor here. Blake won’t allow it, and you won’t stay here either.” Lena: “No, I will stay. I won’t go with you. I don’t want to abandon my friends.” Jack: “Lena, go and don’t worry about us. You need to stay by Noor’s side, she will be sad if you leave her alone.” Lena: “And what about you, Alex? I don’t want to leave you.” Alex: “Go with him, Lena, take care of Noor, she is alone there, and I don’t think they will let you stay here anyway.” Mickey: “Come on, let’s go, Lena, we have stayed here too long. Come with me.” Lena, holding the microscope in her hands, took her heavy steps towards Mickey, her heart filled with sadness. She had dreamed of convincing her friends to join her, but reality was harsh; the news of her marriage came as a shock to them, leaving them stunned. Her feelings were conflicted, swinging between acceptance and rejection, between freedom and coercion. Deep down, she wondered: Was she really content with her marriage to Mickey, or was she forced to accept this fate? And if she was forced, why was she trying so hard to convince her friends to join her? After deep thought, Lena came to a painful realization: she was sacrificing herself for the safety of her friends. It wasn’t love that bound her to Mickey, but rather the compelling circumstances that forced her to stay by his side. She was ready to sacrifice her personal happiness to ensure the safety of her comrades, hoping to convince Blake and Mickey to stay away from her friends and not harm them. In her heart, she knew she would feel content if her friends joined her at the camp, where they could all live in peace, away from the conflicts and dangers surrounding them. But, would that peace truly be possible? Alex, overwhelmed by a wave of anger, began to violently throw things on the ground and scream. He felt that Lena had ruined their meticulous rescue plan. Now that Mickey had discovered they had retrieved their equipment from the sunken ship, it was certain he would return with Blake to take it. All their measures and preparations had gone to waste. Worse, he felt intense anger on behalf of their friend Noor, who was suffering alone, forced into a marriage against her will. Mickey was curious and anxious about the contents of the bag. When he tells Blake about it, he will surely come to see what’s inside, and if Blake finds the weapons inside, he will not hesitate to seize them, threatening to destroy Jack and Alex’s entire plan. Alex: “We need to move quickly, we must intercept Mickey before he reaches the camp. If he talks to Blake, we’ll lose our chance.” Jack: “Alex, a direct attack is dangerous for our lives. Blake will not hesitate to crush us with his armed soldiers.” Alex: “Then we use cunning. We capture his brother and use him as leverage to get Noor back.” Jack: “That’s a big risk. And even if we succeed in the exchange, what’s to stop them from chasing us?” Alex: “No time for hesitation, Jack. Overthinking blinds us to opportunities. We must act now!” Jack: “No, we will follow my plan. We should have known the number of soldiers first. We can’t risk it without information.” Alex: “The circumstances have changed, Jack. Lena has spoiled our plan, and now we must adapt.” Jack: “Lena is not the enemy here. She is a victim of Mickey and Blake just like us. We must think wisely to protect her and Noor.” Alex: “I know you love her, that’s why you defend her, but look at the reality, she brought Blake’s brother here, and even told him that we brought our equipment with us, he will definitely think we have weapons so he will bring more soldiers.” Jack: “She was definitely scared, and I think Mickey is trying to deceive her and convince her that she will be safe with him at the camp.” Alex: “That doesn’t matter now because they’ve discovered that we’re hiding something here, and they will surely return.” Jack grabbed his bag, which contained an automatic weapon and ammunition, then handed the other bag to Alex and signaled him to follow. Quickly, they carried their belongings and left the cave, cautiously following Mickey’s footsteps. After they managed to find him, they continued to watch him until he reached the camp. There, they hid behind a nearby tree, silently observing the place. Jack said: “There are many guards here, but we don’t know if there are more.” Alex: “That doesn’t matter now; we must act quickly. Should we attack them now?” Jack: “I have a plan to reduce their numbers; we will execute the previous plan, but it was based on surprising them, so now it won’t work well.” Alex: “No problem, let’s execute it right away.” Jack began to carefully put his plan into action, and after completing the preparations, he headed to the camp armed only with his dagger, which he had hidden in its sheath behind his back. He arrived at the camp and shouted loudly: “Where are you, Mickey? I want to talk to you!” His call attracted the attention of two guards, who approached Mickey, pointing their weapons at him. One of the guards asked cautiously: “Who are you, and what are you doing here?” Jack replied calmly: “I want to talk to Mickey.” Mickey came out to him, accompanied by Blake. Blake asked curiously about the reason for Jack’s presence and his call for Mickey. Mickey confidently replied: “Don’t worry, I’ll handle this and find out what he wants.” Mickey approached Jack and ordered the guards: “Lower the weapons; I will talk to him.” The guards complied with his order, and as Mickey approached Jack with measured steps, Jack quickly drew his dagger and stabbed the first guard, killing him, then wounded the second guard in the hand and fled. The other guards began firing at Jack, but he had already disappeared among the trees. Mickey shouted, “Don’t shoot, you’ll waste the ammunition, don’t fire!” Blake ordered his soldiers to chase Jack without firing and commanded them to take knives. Then everyone set off in pursuit of Jack.
