Into the Abyss

The next day, early in the morning, the four friends set off to the beach, carrying sturdy wooden spears they had made themselves. When they arrived at the beach, their eyes were captivated by the breathtaking natural scenery. The sand shone with its golden color, as if it were a treasure buried in the embrace of the earth. The sea stretched out with its clear, sparkling, and beautiful waters, like a mirror reflecting the beauty of the sky. The sun glistened on the water’s surface. The sky adorned itself with enchanting blue and was decorated with some soft white clouds. The gentle breeze caressed their faces and refreshed their senses with its fragrant scent. They felt happy and excited to witness such a wonderful sight.

Jack called out enthusiastically, “Alex, let’s go search for our sunken ship!”

Alex replied with an eager tone, “Certainly, let’s all gather to look for it.”

As the friends tried to determine the location of the sunken ship through the visible debris from a distance, which indicated its place, they managed to estimate its approximate location. Then, Jack and Alex decided to swim towards the ship, while agreeing that Lena and Noor would stay on the beach to watch over them.

Alex asked seriously, “Are you ready for the adventure, Jack?”

Jack answered, “Yes, I’m ready, Alex. We might face a fierce battle against the sea creatures that block our way.”

Alex confirmed, “You’re right, we must stay vigilant while swimming. We’re searching for the ship and at the same time, we must be cautious of the sea creatures that may lurk in the depths.”

Then they headed towards the shipwreck, swimming while holding their spears, and the water depth began to increase gradually. Halfway there, Jack spoke.

“The depth must be six meters now.”

Alex said tensely: “Be careful here, Jack. There might be sea creatures in the depths waiting for us.”

Jack submerged his head in the water, examining the surroundings. When he raised his head, he said confidently: “The visibility is clear here, Alex. I don’t see any creatures beneath us. But, we must be cautious near the rocks where visibility decreases. The sand makes everything clear, but the rocks and marine plants make the visibility dark.”

After swimming for a long time, they saw the sunken ship and approached it until they reached its location and it was beneath them.

Alex said excitedly: “Okay, we’ll dive here and reach the ship. But let’s just get close to it and examine it from the outside. Then we’ll ascend to decide our next steps. And you, Jack, need to focus on all the entrances of the ship, because we want to enter and search inside it for things that may benefit us in our future explorations.”

Jack said enthusiastically, “Alright, I understand the plan. Let’s dive!”

Jack and Alex dived and headed towards the sunken ship. When they were just a few meters away from the ship, they suddenly felt a shiver pass through the water. That’s when they saw two huge octopuses looking at them with evil eyes, right beside the ship. Jack and Alex decided to attack the octopuses with spears underwater before they could be attacked themselves.

Alex faced the giant octopus. With a precise strike, he hit the beast in its head, causing the octopus to emit a tremendous scream that echoed throughout the ocean and attacked with unexpected ferocity. Alex tried to retreat nimbly, challenging the monster with his long spear, but the octopus, with lightning speed, grabbed the spear with one of its strong arms and broke it in half. With its hungry mouth, it tried to swallow Alex, but the hero, with exceptional skill, slipped between the sharp teeth of the beast and freed himself from its grip. Armed with his small knife, Alex began to stab the octopus fiercely, targeting weak spots that might be the key to survival.

At the same time, Jack attacked the second octopus, but the octopus quickly managed to dodge the spear. With a sudden move, it grabbed Jack with four of its long arms and pulled him towards the depths. But Jack, with an indomitable spirit, drew his dagger and began to cut the arms that bound him, one after the other. In a desperate attempt to control, the octopus tried to strangle Jack with its other arms and pull him into its wide mouth, but Jack, with the determination of heroes, resisted fiercely and inflicted deep wounds on the body of the octopus with his dagger. The octopus emitted terrifying sounds and bled profusely from its wounds.

Alex saw the octopus pulling Jack down and felt fear for him, wanting to help but unable to because he was facing the first octopus trying to swallow him. The struggle intensified between them, and blood began to fill the water. Alex stabbed the octopus in its body, and the octopus pressed on him with its arms. Alex felt his strength waning and his air running out. He made a decision to use his knife to cut one of the octopus’s arms holding him. Once he managed to cut one of the octopus’s arms, he began to stab the octopus in its face and eyes, causing it severe pain and blinding it. Then he continued his attack with the dagger, focusing his stabs on its head until he killed it, and then Alex took this opportunity and swam towards the surface.

Jack succeeded in killing the second octopus after cutting off all its tentacles with his dagger. Then he stabbed it in the heart and ended its life. He freed himself from its grip and swam towards the surface, where he met Alex, who was waiting for him. They were happy to have survived death after their heroic battle with the octopuses.

Alex asked with concern, “Are you okay, Jack?”

Jack replied, “Yes, I’m fine. And you?”

Alex said, “I almost died fighting the octopus. But I’m fine now. However, I was very scared for you when I saw the octopus pulling you into the depths.”

Jack responded, “Yes, it pulled me and held me with all its tentacles. I was terrified at first. But I gathered my courage, cut off several tentacles, and stabbed it until it died.”

Alex said with relief, “We survived. It was tough. But I’m afraid there might be more octopuses.”

Jack said, “Yes, there might be more. But we need to be more cautious and go back down.”

Alex said, “Yes, we need to know the entrances to the ship. I’ll go in and you watch from the outside.”

Jack said confidently, “Okay, I’ll watch carefully. But do you know where the equipment inside the sunken ship is?”

Alex said, “I’ll try to go in and look. First, I’ll search for oxygen bottles and then for waterproof flashlights. If I find these two things in the ship, searching for the rest will be easy.”

After deciding on their plan, they dived back into the depths. Alex entered the ship while Jack kept watch outside. Alex felt a strong pulse in his heart with every advance inside the sunken ship. He searched for oxygen bottles and waterproof hand lamps, knowing that he wouldn’t be able to stay underwater for long without them. But the ship was large and complex, the deeper he went inside, the harder it became to swim, and the darkness intensified. There was no light penetrating from outside the water, and he had to rely on his sense of direction.

Alex knew the ship’s layout precisely, aware that any mistake could cost him his life. He followed the paths from his memory of the ship and its overturned position. Jack, waiting outside the ship, had previously told him that the equipment room was the best place to find oxygen bottles and hand lamps, as it contained a large stock of them. However, when Alex reached the equipment room, he found nothing he was looking for. The room was very dark, and everything in it seemed to have been destroyed. Alex felt worried.
