Too Good To Be True

Chase The banquet was amazing. Kyrie was absolutely perfect. Whether she realized it or not, she carried herself the way that a princess and Luna should. As Chase watched her chatting with their parents, he was again amazed at the blessing from the goddess that he had received. "Our mate is so beautiful, but Kahlan is the sexiest,'' Robicheaux told him. "Well, Kahlan is your mate, and of course I think she is beautiful, but Kyrie is everything," Chase replied. "I can't wait to run with Kahlan. I bet she is very fast, and I want to play hunt the prey with her," Robicheaux said. "Of course you do horndog," Chase laughed, "You get to mate with her when you catch her." "Why else would you play hunt the prey?" Robicheaux asked, confused. "I don't know buddy," Chase told him. Chase's conversation with his wolf was cut short by a loud alarm sounding and a member of his border patrol shouting down the mind link, "Rogues, a lot of them!" Of course, a night like this was too good to be true. Springing into action, Chase started barking orders. "Mom, take the pregnant women, children, and omegas to the shelter. Justin, take 100 warriors and head towards the border patrol immediately." He paused for a moment and looked at Kyrie. "I'm going with you. I am a strong Lycan, and it's my duty as Luna to help protect my pack," she told him calmly. "Lucien, you stay with me and help me to protect Kyrie. I need 100 warriors to come with us. All the rest of the warriors guard the entrances to the packhouse. Do not allow any of the rogues to get in." Chase ran out the door and then realized that the king and his oldest son had followed him out the door as well. "Kyrian, I don't expect you to have to fight this battle." "Nonsense, son, I will protect my daughter and her mate," he replied. They all stripped out of their clothes and shifted into their beasts. Chase was taken aback for a moment when he realized that the king, Kai, and Kyrie had changed into their secondary forms. They looked like werewolves from a movie, in wolf form but standing on two feet and having long arms with wicked claws. Not having time to dwell on it, Robicheaux took off running with a howl, heading towards the border that had been breached. Upon arriving at the pack border, Chase saw absolute chaos. A huge number of rogues were clashing with his warriors. He immediately jumped into the fray, going after the rogue closest to him. Some of the rogues, seeing the royals in their wolf-man forms, backed off for a second, before going back into the attack. Kyrie Kahlan had taken over the moment that she had shifted. Kyrie, however, was unprepared for the ferocity of the attacking rogues. Glad that Kahlan was in charge, she watched in horror as rogues battled it out with her people. Kahlan had attacked the rogue nearest to her, using her wicked-looking claws to tear his neck open. He died within seconds. Kahlan went headlong into the fight, going after another rogue. Kyrie saw her father's and brother's Lycans tearing the rogues to shreds. She wondered if the battle would ever end. It seemed like every rogue they killed was replaced by 2 more. But she was suddenly surprised by Kahlan raising her arms in the air and sending out glowing purple lightning bolts from her hand that hit at least a dozen of the rogues, which caused them to immediately drop unmoving to the ground. Looking around for Chase, she saw him fighting with a particularly vicious rogue and realized that another was sneaking up behind him. She screamed and Kahlan then reached out her hand again and flicking her wrist sent the rogue flying into a tree. Relieved, she returned to the fight. Third Person POV The rogues were nearly defeated. Besides the well-trained warriors taking out the rogues, the royals were fierce, using the wolf-man forms and some special powers they had taken out dozens of rogues on their own. A few warriors were lying on the ground injured, but somehow there were no casualties on their side. Soon, all the rogues were defeated, while five were being cuffed in silver and taken to the cells for questioning, although they had likely earned themselves a painful death sentence with this attack on Silver Claw. The royals, exhausted from a fight in their secondary forms, shifted into their Lycan wolf forms to head back to the packhouse. Robicheaux ran over to Kahlan and sniffed at her both to calm himself and to check for injuries. They touched noses before heading back towards the packhouse at a brisk trot. Arriving back at the packhouse, they shifted back, still covered in blood and gore from the battle. It was obvious that Chase wasn't thrilled with his mate being naked in front of everyone, even though nudity was normal among wolves and didn't bother any of them. He put his arm around his mate and walked her quickly into the packhouse. Probably sending her to their room and the shower. Declan "What do you mean that they were not only defeated but that there were no survivors either!" Declan shouted angrily, his eyes flashing black. "Just what I said. Not a single one of them returned to camp. All that's left are the camp guards and I told them to head back to the compound before they get found as well, because I have no doubt that the alpha will be sending out scouting parties to look for their camp," Jimmy replied with a sigh. "Why are they so incompetent? How am I going to get her back if they can't even get to the packhouse to capture her?' Declan growled. "Maybe you should just find another girlfriend," Jimmy told him. Declan grabbed him by the throat with a roar and shoved him against the wall. "I don't want another girlfriend, I want her. The immense power she holds and that I would receive with her as my mate will make me unstoppable," he screamed in the smaller man's face. "We need a better plan of attack and an army, as I told you. There is no way that we can ger her with only the rogues. The pack is simply too well-trained," Jimmy ground out as Declan dropped him to the floor. "We keep attacking with the rogues. Maybe we can weaken them a bit before we go in with a full army," Declan told him. "If you insist Declan. You are half demon, don't you have some kind of powers that could help with this?" Jimmy asked. "Don't worry about me, I will be there when we battle with the army. I plan to mark her as soon as I can get my hands on her," Declan said. "I hope she's actually as powerful as you think she is, and worth all this trouble to get her back," Jimmy sighed. "Oh, she definitely is worth it, she is even more powerful than the Lycan King and his heir," Declan replied, finally calming down a little. "I certainly hope so," Jimmy said, "I've lost about 150 of my guys trying to get to her." "You will see it for yourself soon," Declan replied confidently.
