Chase and Kyrie

“I really had a fantastic time with you today,” Kyrie told Chase with a smile as he walked her to the door of house.

“I did as well, love,”Chase said.

As they reached her door, she turned to him, “Do you think we could do this again sometime?” she whispered as though afraid of his reaction.

Chase reached over and gently tipped her chin up to look her in the eyes, “I absolutely plan on it,” he replied.

He moved his hand up to cup her cheek and trailed his thumb over her lips, enjoying the feeling of the sparks it created . He couldn’t resist anymore, he leaned down and kissed her lips gently. The sparks intensified and he wrapped his arms around her and was pleased when she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back.

Chase trailed his tongue over her lips wanting entry. She opened her mouth, allowing him to explore her mouth with his tongue before allowing her tongue to dance with his. Goddess, she was so perfect for him.

They finally broke apart and stood in each other’s arms for a moment. He rested his chin on the top of her head as she buried her face in his chest.

“I wish I could stay here with you, but I do have to get going. Can I come see you tomorrow?” he asked her.

“Sure,” she replied, “Would you like to come over for dinner tomorrow? And maybe we can watch a movie or something after.”

“That sounds perfect,” he told her and gave her another little peck on the lips.

He finally managed to drag himself away but still turned away at the end of her driveway and gave her a little wave before heading off towards the pack lands.

“Man, it was so hard to leave her,” he told Robicheaux.

“That’s because the mate bond gets stronger as we spend more time together,” Robicheaux replied, “You should have stayed with our mate and marked her. Kahlan told me that she can’t wait to meet me.”

“Who is Kahlan?” Chase asked him confused.

“It’s our mates Lycan,” Robicheaux said smugly, “She’s been talking to me all day. She said she was going to try to communicate with our mate tonight.”

“That’s amazing,”Chase said, “Maybe since the mate bond is goddess magic it’s weakening the binding spell.”

“Probably so,” the wolf replied, “you should have stayed and done dirty things with our mate.”

“Really, Robicheaux,” Chase sighed.

He cut the link with his wolf when he started sending him images of his mate in all kinds of freaky positions with him.

As Chase reached the pack house, he mind linked his Beta and Gamma to come and meet him in his office to discuss the information that they had gathered today.

The two men arrived after a few minutes and sat down across the desk from Chase. They quickly shared the information that they had gotten from Michael, particularly about the rogues that he had disposed of, and of his desire for an audience with the king.

Chase then filled the two men in on the information he had gotten from Kyrie about her ex-boyfriend. He let them know that he was going over there tomorrow evening and hoped that he would get a chance to speak with Michael as well.

“I’m really hoping to get this resolved as soon as possible. I want to bring my mate home,” Chase told the two men.

“We are definitely ready for our pack to have its Luna. All packs run more smoothly when they have an Alpha and a Luna,” Justin agreed.

“Considering that a Gamma’s job is literally to be in charge of protecting his Luna, I will definitely feel more complete once Kyrie is here. As a matter of fact, I should probably start asking for applicants for the Luna Guard,” Lucien mused, “I will be in my office Alpha.”

“Thank you both for the information you gathered today. I’ve got some pack business to attend to now. I will see you later,” Chase told them rising and shaking both of their hands.

“Maybe we can bring our mate soon. Hopefully, Kahlan gets through to her tonight,” Robicheaux said to Chase.

“I sure hope you are right,” Chase replied.

Kyrie

Kyrie decided that she wanted a long hot bath and to relax on her porch this afternoon. She couldn’t stop thinking about Chase. He was quite possibly the sexiest man she had ever laid eyes on. Not to mention the strange way she was just drawn to him.

“You feel that way because he’s your mate,” the same strange feminine voice told her.

Kyrie jumped in fright, “Who’s there?” she shouted looking around.

“You are being so dramatic,” she replied, “I’m Kahlan, your Lycan. And you don’t have to shout. I can hear you in your mind.”

“I must be going crazy. Or there’s a ghost in my house,” Kyrie muttered.

Kahlan let out an exasperated sigh, “Please stop the theatrics. I am your Lycan, and the feelings you have for Chase are natural. It’s part of the mate bond. He’s a werewolf. His wolf’s name is Robicheaux and I can’t wait to meet him. I bet he’s sexy.”

Kyrie decided for some insane reason to try conversing in her head, “What is a Lycan?”

“Finally, listening I see,” Kahlan snarked, “A Lycan is similar to a werewolf just bigger and stronger. We also have two wolf forms that we can shift into, although our second form is dangerous and more difficult to control.”

“So you are saying that I can shift into these forms?” Kyrie asked.

“ You will be able to soon. We had a spell put on us when you were a baby to hide us because we are special,” Kahlan explained.

“What makes us so special?”Kyrie queried.

“We are Royal Lycans with special abilities. You will see when we are able to shift,” Kahlan apprised.

“I guess we will find out soon if I am crazy or a Lycan,” Kyrie said with a little laugh.

“Go to the mirror. We might not be able to shift yet but I can show you my eyes,” Kahlan informed her.

Kyrie walked over to the mirror in her bathroom and peered at her reflection. Suddenly her light brown eyes changed to a bright glowing blue. She gasped and moved her face closer to the mirror.

“I really am a Lycan,” she mused in wonder.

“You are, and a very special one at that,” Kahlan said proudly.

“So what’s a mate?” Kyrie inquired.

“ I thought you would never ask?” Kahlan told her excitedly.
