Let Me Train Her

1465 Words
Lucien After listening to what the young rogue had to say, he decided that he needed to talk to Chase about allowing him to train Kyrie. He had several good reasons why, the first being that she needed to be able to protect herself if ever attacked in human form and was unable to shift for whatever reason. Another important reason that he had was because, as her Gamma, he could read her emotions, so he would know if the training was pushing her too hard, or maybe not hard enough. In any case, it was important to him personally, that his Luna be safe and protected at all times. Although, he wondered what that would mean for his own mate, if he ever found her. Gammas were literally hard-wired to protect another she-wolf at any cost. So the question was always in the back of his mind: what if his mate and his Luna were both ever in danger at the same time? How do you walk away from the other half of your soul, in order to save your Luna? Lucien was pretty sure that he wasn't the first Gamma to have this fear, and he certainly wouldn't be the last. Maybe he should have a talk with his father about the situation. Etienne always had excellent advice for him as the former Gamma. He also needed to check on Kyrie; he was getting some anxiety from her through the Luna-Gamma bond. It was actually causing his wolf to whine in his head. "Alpha, I need to go check on my Luna now," Lucien told Chase. "Absolutely, and please mind-link me if she needs me, Lucien," Chase replied, looking concerned. "Of course, Alpha," Lucien told him before running through the packhouse to find his Luna. Lucien found her sitting in the living room with her mother and Lydia. He walked over to her and knelt in front of her. "Luna, what is wrong? My wolf was going crazy and telling me that I needed to get to you," Lucien said to her. Kyrie looked at him and burst into tears. He had no idea what made her so upset, but his Gamma instinct kicked in. He stood up and helped her to her feet and wrapped her up in a hug and hummed to her, using his Gamma charm. Kyrie instantly relaxed against him as his charm worked to calm her. She sniffed a few times before looking up at him. "I have no idea what you just did, but I feel so much better now," she told him. Chase walked into the room at that moment, having felt that his mate was upset. He stiffened up for a moment at seeing Kyrie in Lucien's arms, but relaxed when he realized that he was using his Gamma charm to calm her down. He had actually felt the moment through their bond when she calmed down. "Thank you, Lucien for helping my mate. Now come here, love and tell me what has gotten you so upset," he said as he walked over to her and took her hand. He led her over to an armchair and sat down, pulling her into his lap. Lucien decided to stick around in case his Luna needed him again. He took a seat on the chair next to her and Chase. "I'm just having a rough couple of weeks," Kyrie admitted tearfully. "First, I managed to escape from my ex, then I met my mate, that I had no idea was my mate, then I found out that I'm a Lycan. My new home that I just bought gets surrounded by rogues that my new mate and his wolves have to battle. Then after all that, I become Luna of a werewolf pack and have no idea what I'm doing, and then another rogue attack that I feel like is my fault. Except, I have no idea why anyone would want to hurt me." She took a shuddering breath before bursting into tears again. Lucien stood up again and gently took her from Chase and used his Gamma charm on her again. She relaxed before looking up at Lucien, perplexed. "How do you do that?" she asked him. Lucien gave a little laugh before handing her back to Chase and sitting down next to them again. "Well, when Chase told you that I am your Gamma, he meant that exactly. He is my Alpha, yes, but my literal purpose is to take care of the Luna. So when you are upset, I have what is called a Gamma charm that is specifically tailored to my Luna. If you are upset, I feel it, and I have to come find you and help you. My wolf was going crazy a few minutes ago, telling me that I had to come find you, and here we are," he told her. "But what about your mate?" Kyrie asked him. "I haven't found her yet. But I'm sure that she will understand that I have to take care of you, anytime you need me," Lucien replied. "You were worried about being Luna, but your concern over his mate is showing how caring of a Luna you already are," Lydia told her. The conversation was interrupted by Kyrian, Charles, Justin, and Kai walking into the room. "We just wanted to know why you two ran off?" Kyrian asked as he took a seat on the couch next to Calista. "My Luna needed me," Lucien replied simply. "I'm feeling much better now," Kyrie said, "My Gamma and my mate have calmed me down." "She was just feeling a little overwhelmed, dear," Calista said, patting Kyrian on the knee. At that moment, Etienne walked in with Lucien's sister Marcelline. Her piercing green eyes, much like Lucien's, immediately went to Kai. "Mate!" she shouted. Kai's eyes glowed purple for a minute, the way that Kyrie's did, "Mine!" he said, jumping up and pulling her in his arms. He sniffed her neck, and pulled her tighter to him. "This is so wonderful," Kyrie said gleefully, her usual good mood restored. "Congratulations, son," Kyrian said, walking up to the two of them. "Wait, you're the king," Marcelline said, looking at him wide-eyed. "What's your name, sweetheart?" Kai asked her. "I'm Marcelline," she replied softly. "My name is Kai, I am the future king, and you are now my future queen," he told her, "If you are willing to accept me." "But I'm just a gamma," she said. "You are perfection. You are my gift from the goddess. And she apparently thinks that you are queen material," Kai told her. "Then I accept you," she said with a smile. Kai abruptly lifted her into his arms with a growl, and ran from the room carrying her as she wrapped her legs around his waist. They all burst out laughing at Kai's eagerness to claim his mate. "I can't believe my little girl is going to be a queen," Etienne said, stunned by what had just happened. "I need to tell Fleur about this. She will kill me if I don't tell her everything right now." His eyes glazed over as he mind-linked his mate. "Well, welcome to the family," Kyrie told him, absolutely ecstatic at her brother finding his mate. "Now, I'm family as well," Lucien told Kyrie with a grin. "This is all so wonderful," Calista said happily. "After all the unpleasant business in the cells, I think we needed something like this," Charles said. "Yes, that business," Kyrian said as he returned to sit by Calista. "My love, we need you to come and talk to this young rogue to see if he is telling the truth. If he is, we've received some valuable intel." "Certainly," she replied, "I would be more than happy to help." "We can bring him to a different area if you would prefer to talk to him somewhere besides the cells," Chase told her. "Nonsense. I am more than capable of going down to the cells," Calista told him. Lucien was suddenly reminded of his own thoughts earlier. "Chase, I was actually thinking earlier that I would like to get your permission to train my Luna," he said. "I don't see a problem with that if she wants to train. Honestly, you will take better care of her than anyone else. Except for me," Chase replied. "Oooh, I would love to train," Kyrie said excitedly. Justin, who had been silent up until this point, spoke up, "I would be more than happy to help you train our Luna," he said. "That's just fine with me ," Kyrie said, practically bouncing with excitement. "Now that this has all been decided, how about we head up to the dining room for lunch," Charles suggested.
