Chase
He stood impatiently at the bottom of the stairs with his father and King Kyrian. His mother and the queen had said that they wanted to present Kyrie properly before the grand banquet. He thought Kyrie was perfect no matter what she was wearing. She was the most absolutely perfect mate he could imagine. And he was really ready for her to join him because he had plans for a special announcement.
"Relax son," Charles told him, "Your mother is so excited to have a daughter to dress up and spoil."
Chase had a set of twin brothers that were 5 years younger than him, Gavin and Andrew. They were off at college, but he had spoken with them briefly to let them know that he had found his mate, and they had promised to return for her Luna ceremony.
"It just seems like it's taking forever," Chase replied.
"Just so you know Chase," King Kyrian told him, slapping him on the shoulder, "I am always impatient for my mate to join me as well, but she always looks so beautiful at that first glance that it is well worth the wait."
At that moment, their attention was caught by someone clearing their throat at the top of the stairs. Chase looked up and Kyrie looked like a goddess in the flesh as she began to make her way slowly down the stairs. She had on an emerald green satin dress with a sweetheart neckline. It hugged her curves in all the right places and came down to her ankles and was paired with strappy black high-heeled sandals.
Chase walked up to her and held out his hand for her to take. "You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen," he told her, looking deeply into her eyes, "You look like a goddess."
Taking the hand he held out, "Thank you. You look so handsome in your suit as well," she told him.
"All of you ladies look magnificent," King Kyrian said, holding out his arm to his mate, "Shall we head to the banquet hall?"
Queen Calista smiled at her husband and linked her arm with his, "That sounds perfect. I would love to meet the pack members that my daughter will be living with," she replied.
Kyrie
'I might just be the luckiest woman in the world,' she thought to herself as she studied her handsome mate in his black suit. He had on a black shirt as well as an emerald green tie that matched her dress. She let out a small gasp as he led her by the hand into the formal dining room that was decorated so very beautifully. The black and gold pack colors were played up with pops of color from the flower arrangements on the tables. At the front of the room, there was a raised platform with a table and chairs for the alpha family and the royal family.
Chase led them to all stand in front of the platform as they waited for the pack members to be let in. It was all a bit overwhelming, in her opinion, but Lydia had reassured her that this was a special occasion and that most days were much quieter around the pack.
Soon, pack members began to flow in the double doors that had opened and made there way to the group standing at the front to be introduced to Kyrie and to pay their respects to the royal family. There was no way she would be able to learn all the names of her pack members tonight, but hoped that in the coming weeks she would start to remember them all.
Once everyone had made their way to the tables set up around the room, Chase cleared his throat before calling for their attention.
"If I could have everyone's attention please," he called out, "I would like to take this time to officially announce to you, my pack, that this is my mate and your Luna, Princess Kyrie."
Looking around, Kyrie realized that most of his pack was very excited for their alpha to have found his luna. Obviously, there were a few she-wolves that looked a little upset, likely jealous and holding out hope that he would have taken them as a chosen mate.
"In celebration of this joyous occasion, we will be having a pack run tomorrow night on the full moon, showing the moon goddess that we are truly grateful for her blessing," Chase announced.
Kyrie was pleasantly surprised to hear their cheering for his announcement. She smiled up at him, and he gave her a gentle kiss.
"Please everyone enjoy the banquet. I am so very happy to be here with you, and I hope that I can be a great help to my mate and also to the pack members here," Kyrie told them.
King Kyrian
I was very pleased to see that the majority of pack members were absolutely thrilled to have Kyrie here as Luna. There were a few sour faces, but honestly, what I have learned as a king is that you can't please everyone. But overall, it looks like my daughter would be happy and well-loved here. At some point, Calista and myself would have to have a private conversation with Kyrie so that we could explain how our beloved daughter had ended up with an adoptive family. But the goddess honest truth of the matter, is that there were sick people in the world, willing to kidnap a baby to keep her until she was old enough to be marked by them, giving them immense power. The court seer had let us know that Kyrie's Lycan, even at such a young age, was young and had been blessed with a number of special powers and gifts. It honestly had us a bit worried about what the future would hold because the moon goddess, Selene, only highly blessed wolves or Lycans when there was tremendous need. A blessing from Fenrir is even more rare, and if the seer was correct, Kyrie had been blessed by both. Unfortunately, once a few of the wrong people heard about the seer's vision, we had several supernaturals trying to claim that our infant daughter was their mate. One was a particularly nasty supernatural, a hybrid demon and wolf. He was absolutely determined to have our daughter no matter what he had to do. He even tried appealing to the high council, as though I'm not the head of it, claiming that she was his mate and that we were keeping her from him. He had a nasty temper and even if he had been her mate, I would have refused and had her reject him.
My mate looked up at me, pulling me from my thoughts. "Let's go have a seat so we can eat with our daughter. And stop worrying so much, our sweet daughter will definitely understand once we explain everything to her," Calista told me quietly.
I pulled her into my arms and gave a sniff of her hair to calm my worry. She took my hand and led me to our seats, to enjoy our first meal with our daughter.
