SEVENTEENAnaya put in her earphones to drown out the sound of the boys’ screaming. She picked out two dresses and opted for Carl’s favorite. She piled her hair at the top of her head and pasted the baby hairs down. Work had been keeping her and Carl apart more than either of them liked. Since Roscoe’s party, she hadn’t spent any real time with him besides the occasional lunch date and she was going to make up for it tonight.
