Wiping down the sweat beads from her forehead with her little hands, Adhira sighed as she was done with ironing clothes after washing and drying them up. Licking her dry lips to moisten them, she neatly folded the clothes and started taking them to Reyansh's bedroom, but the sad reality was , it was also their bedroom. She turned the door knob and directly went inside the closet to arrange the clothes. Heaving up a sigh of relief, she looked at the clock hanging on the wall. "He won't be home before 10. I still had 3 hours." Today her eyes seemed different. There was a change in her demeanour. Something was shining brightly in her green eyes today. It seemed like there was a special occasion today, a kind of festival or birthday to celebrate. She went downstairs again after shutting the door to the bedroom. She entered inside the kitchen and started cooking dinner for him while softly humming a song. Every day she would hum a song while cooking. Even if she had been slapped or whipped earlier she would always hum a tune as nothing happened. She has always believed, cooking food is a task that should be done happily with positivity and without feeling any pain and negative thoughts. She ran here and there in the kitchen with a spatula in her hand. Meanwhile glancing at the clock hanging in front of her in the living room. In just 40 minutes she had cooked 3 dishes and one dessert. No, there was no party or any such thing but this was what she had been doing since she was brought here. Forcefully. Having a huge appetite Reyansh would finish everything served on the table and if by chance something was left, it was kept in the refrigerator and after 3 4 days it was given to Adhira to eat. Sometimes they are rotten and smell bad and even though, in hunger she would eat that unhealthy and inedible rotten food. The most important thing is to have hope and for that, she needs to survive. She kept telling that to herself every day, every minute. Covering all the dishes, she carefully kept them on the kitchen isle and took the apron off herself. Her beautiful emerald eyes searched for Maya, so she could finally ask for water. Getting out of the kitchen, Adhira went to the living room to search for Maya but she did not find her there. Almost searching from here and there for 20 minutes, Adhira practically covered the whole mansion searching for her but she did not find her anywhere. Returning to the living room, her gaze went to the clock. Her earlier shining eyes clouded over a little seeing the hour hand of the clock striking 8, knowing she won't be able to drink water now because Maya would leave the mansion at 8 every day. And Reyansh was also not at home right now and he was not going to be at home before 10. So she was left thirsty for water again. Seeing no one at home, she could have just drunk and eaten as much as she wants but No. She can't. But today she was going to do something big and risky for sure. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . .. . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Adhira Pov. I had to leave. I know it's not easy but I have to. I can't live here with a stranger who is a devil enduring all this torture even without trying to get free. I need to do this. I had already noticed the patrolling schedule of the guards standing outside. At 8:30 sharp the guards exchange duties, and I will only get 10 minutes to run away from here. Exhaling loudly, I saw here and there one last time to confirm that there was no one there except me. My heart was pounding loudly against my chest. It felt like, it will escape from there by breaking my rib cage. My mind was screaming at me with a big No. Giving all red flags about my this planned escape. But I have to leave. If I succeeded, I can live a normal and happy life. With Papa and Masi" A small smile formed on my lips thinking how happy and excited they would be seeing me. They must have forgiven me for....I don't know for what... but they will be happy seeing me after so long. So I have to leave for them and myself. And I already know I can't run from the front door. There will be 2 guards standing there. I took the stairs and reached the bedroom. I scanned the room. My legs dragged me to the large window where I used to sit for hours and look at that beautiful tree under the moon. Opening it wide, I looked down. It was on the first floor.. It was already dark outside. I sighed, at least this is really in my favor. Good for me. It would help me to stay hidden. but how would I be able to reach down? I looked around the room. What can help me? My gaze went to bedsheets. It was big but easily detectable too. Then my gaze fell on the lamp wires. It looked long enough to reach down and undetectable. But I wasn't sure if it could take my weight or not. I took my chance and unplugged the wire from the lamp and secure it to the bedpost tightly. I stretched it a few more times tightly to ensure it was secured. I threw the remaining wire outside the window and took a good look at where I was going to land. My breath quickened with nervousness. " I can do it. I c..can do it."' I whispered to myself. My hands naturally went to my neck. I fisted the pendant in my palm and it like always gave me immense calm and support. Taking a deep breath and calming my nerves, I climbed up the window sill and then holding the hanging wire tightly and slowly, I started to slide down. "Just a little more. " I whispered to myself. The pain in my back and the stiffness of my muscles were not helping at all. I kept chanting I can do it' in my mind. After a long struggle, when my feet touched the ground, I sighed in relief. Finally. "Ah" I whimpered when something sharp tore off the skin on my foot. I left my slipper in the room to prevent anyone from hearing my footsteps. I hide behind bushes and crawled on my four to the main gate. I stopped and looked discreetly at the guards standing there. I need to do something. I waited for a few minutes and then saw a guard talking on the walkie talkie. Maybe to another guard. And then he signaled other guards standing with him. He with the other 4 guards went away. Leaving the spot on the main gate totally empty. A grin broke on my face, seeing my way clear. I looked here and there and frantically ran outside the main gate. I ran and ran. I only stopped when I was breathless and my legs had turned jelly. I glanced at the back, from where I had run my way up until here. I don't know where to go and which road to take from here but I know I had run at a safe distance from that mansion. But I looked sadly at my back. He should tighten his security more. This won't do. What if someone barged in while the guards were not present? I shook my head in disappointment. I would tell him maybe sometime else. But now I need to go to my papa and Masi. I looked around there was no one there. After walking for half an hour I could see some lights on the other side of the road. My feet were bleeding. My knees were scraped and I know I can't keep walking anymore. My legs would give up anytime. Crossing the road, I saw some shops. I reached a shop where an old man selling flowers. I decided to ask for his help. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . .. . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . hello lovely readers;) I was thinking about requesting this book for Pay-to-read.
