It was nearly midnight. The night sky was picturesque with stars surrounding the moon in the clear sky. The moon's yellowy-white light illuminated the mansion standing with pride enveloped by an ethereal glow. The moon's natural light penetrated through the window and bathed the whole room with its radiance, casting a shadow of a woman standing by the window. Her delicate face dazzling with the soft light falling on her face making her features more soft and airy. Her hair cascading down ended just above her mid thighs flew around her face breaking her chain of thoughts sometimes but sometimes they are so deep that those soft shiny locks were tucked behind her ears carelessly.
Adhira sat by the window on a chair thinking about her life that how she ended up here, and where she went wrong but to her dismay, everything and every perspective answer seemed blurry to her. There were too many answers to her swirling thoughts but none of them seemed righteous. She looked outside of the window, there were bushes and trees everywhere as far as she could see. It gave her the impression that there was no interference of human activities here obviously except for some bulky bodyguards patrolling the mansion in the peaceful silent night.
Her eyes settled on a tree standing proudly very far away. There were so many trees and most of them looked identical when seen from such a distance. One could only see shades of green and brown extended in the large area but that particular tree somehow managed to look different in the eyes of Adhira. She felt that tree to be different with its enormous branches protruding twistingly here and there. That tree . . .
Her thoughts were disrupted when she heard the door of the room opening and closing with a thud. A shiver ran down her spine, clenching her sweaty fists tightly in her lap she tried her best not to make any noise. Breathing very slowly, she stood up from the chair without making any noise and stood still with her head hanging low.
It's been a month since she was brought back from the brink of death due to her temperature falling down by none other than Reyansh. But Adhira never came to know who saved her as guessing his name in the list of her savior would be ironic to her so she thought that one of the maids came to her rescue.
Naive!
But this wasn't her fault either, after that day Reyansh went away for almost 1 week for business purposes and when he came back he was a changed person altogether. If he was cold and ruthless earlier then after he came back he added more coldness and ruthlessness to his glory.
Now she knew very well, what she needed to do and not. And the most important thing she learned in past these days was never to look into the master's eye, never talk back and never defy the master's order.
Yes, master, as she still did not know his name, her husband's name so like everyone else she was told him to address as master.
