Adhira POV:-
Beep ... Beep ... Beep ... Beep...
The slight pain in my head turned into a very sharp pain. The pain intensified even more when I tried to peer open my eyes.
The sudden flash of lights forced me to close them. Even through the pain, I try to remember what happened and how I ended up in this state. A wave of nausea hit me and I tried to fight it off.
Trying it again, I opened my eyes to have glared by the blinding lights once again. I momentarily blocked my vision with my palms.
Needles attached to the back of my hand were the first thing I registered. Moving my eyes, I met with a white and seemingly unfamiliar wall and ceiling. Confused, I looked to my right, to see various monitors and a tray placed with some medicines, pieces of cotton, and syringes ?!
Is this a hospital? But why...
Mall... shopping.... car.. guns... blood... blast. Slowly, like a reel, past events started flashing through my senses, answering my confusion...
Reyansh!
Oh my God, Reyansh!
My eyes widened with realization. I looked around to see if there was anyone. There was no one.
A sudden wave of fear and anxiety ran through my veins. Where is he? Is he alright?
My muscles constricted and I got up from the hospital bed. In a panic, I harshly pulled away the drips attached to my hands and arms. And a jolt of sharp electric shock like pain traveled up my arms and reached up to my shoulder. Blood oozed and trickled down. But it wasn't painful.
Not much more the negative thoughts crossing my head.
I staggered with my unsteady steps. I clutched the side of my head as it spun badly.
My wobbly legs indicated that I was weak.
Holding the side of the bed, I steadied myself and took small steps.
As I reached for the door handle, the door burst open revealing a nurse clad in a white uniform.
Her mouth opened wide in shock and she rushed toward me.
"You shouldn't be standing up. You are weak!" She pushed me back on the bed, and I let her because my legs couldn't support my body.
"I... I am fine. Reyansh!" I exclaimed. "Where is he? Is he alright?" I asked her in a breath.
" He is here in another ward and he is alright." The nurse said with a smile. Clasping my left hand in her hand, she started taking my pulse.
"I want to see him." Taking back my hand, I stood up. I want to see him. I can't be able to stay calm without seeing him with my own eyes.
"You are too weak. Lay down" She tried to reason with me but I was already out of the ward. I need to see him.
The pain in my head subsided a little. I winced when at my back I felt a burning sensation running through my spine.
Ignoring the urge to scratch there, I looked here and there.
For a hospital, this seemed small to me, with just four wards including mine. I walked to my right and opened the door, with a big table, files and papers stacked upon and a swivel chair, I guessed this was a cabin.
Maybe the doctor's cabin.
I closed the door and opened another ward which was just in front of it.
The door opened to a white room just like the ward from where I came out. There was no one inside as the bed was empty and neat.
With the support of the wall, I walked to the last door. Inhaling deeply, I opened the door slowly.
As I stood there, I felt my heart racing in my chest. On the bed, he was lying there with drips attached to his arms, his head and shoulder wrapped in bandages.
With wobbly legs, I walked further toward his bed. He looked nothing like a sick person, but like he was just resting.
"You should be resting." A voice came from behind. I turned to see a man wearing a white doctor's coat with a stethoscope hanging around his neck.
He was the doctor.
"I am fine. How is he, doctor?" I nervously asked him.
He looked at me. " He is fine and out of any danger." He gently smiled at me and went ahead to check his vitals.
I wanted to ask him when we could go home.
We? Home?
No, when I could take him back to the mansion.
I?
" Though he is alright, we will keep him under observation for tonight. You can take him tomorrow morning." The doctor much to my relief answered my unspoken question.
" Now you should go back and take a rest." The doctor strode away as he finished taking notes of his vital.
Thank God! He was fine.
