In The Darkness
A SURGING wave nervousness submerged Eve as Sam doused the engine and coasted to a park about twenty yards behind a black car at the pre-arranged meeting spot with Amadeo. Sam flicked the headlights once. A darkened figure appeared from the parked car ahead of them, gave a thumb up motion with his black gloved hand, and then waved his hand to come forward.
Eve jumped with relief and exclaimed, “I’m gonna get this son of a b***h! Let’s grab the Kruppla and have some fun, darling!” She leaned over and aggressively kissed the side of his face. She did not give any time for Sam to respond as she quickly grabbed her handbag, exited the car, and made a show of tightening her clothing and gloves to give her a minute of respite. It worked.
