Chapter 6 - Ace

2190 Words
Melody complained all the way back to my room but she followed me anyway, and a few moments after we got into bed she was fast asleep and snoring softly in my arms. She looked so beautiful and peaceful in my arms that it was hard to believe that only a few minutes ago she was giving me such a hard time over my past conquests. ‘You deserve everything she gave and much worse,’ my wolf growled. I could feel his anger when he thought about all of the women that I was with before my mate. He acted as though I didn’t also regret my history, as though being with Melody didn’t make everything else I had done feel dreadful in comparison. There was nothing I could do to change my past, but I would put up with everything that Melody wanted to throw at me gladly now that we had claimed each other. Melody moaned in her sleep as I pulled her closer to my body and kissed her hair. We would have to get up in a few minutes if we wanted to make it to class, but I wanted to make the most of those few minutes before Melody woke up and tried pushing me away again. “Why do you keep kissing me?” Melody whispered, her voice still husky after her sleep. She turned around to face me, her eyebrows were knitted together in confusion as her eyes met mine. “I am so happy to have you in my arms.” I ran my nose along her cheek, kissing her every so often as I spoke. “You don’t make any sense to me. You tell me that you think I am disgusting and now, only a few hours later, you can’t seem to keep your hands off me.” “I guess I did tell you I would explain everything this morning. Are you sure that I can’t convince you to share a shower with me first?” I knew that I was only trying to delay the inevitable but I didn’t want to see the look on her face when I told her what I was. Melody didn’t take me up on the offer as I hoped she would. Instead, she shook her head and pulled herself out of my arms until she was sitting beside me on the bed. “This might be a little difficult for you to understand,” I told her as I moved into a seated position and pulled her into my lap. If I was going to explain all of this to her then I was going to need to have her close to me in order to keep myself calm. “I’m a werewolf. I’m not dangerous like the ones that you hear about in films and books but I can change into a wolf and…..” “You know, you don’t need to make up this bullshit. You could just tell me that last night was a bit of fun, or that last night was a mistake. You don’t need to make out that you have lost your mind.” I could feel her anger rising through our growing bond, so I pulled her tighter into my chest and started using my purr to comfort her. It didn’t take long for the tension to leave her shoulders and for her to relax against my body. I’m not sure if it was my purr that convinced her that there was something different about me or something else. The only thing I do know is that when she turned to look at me again there was confusion instead of anger in her eyes. “Let’s just say that I believed you, what would you being a werewolf have to do with your sudden change of attitude towards me.” She asked, hesitating for a few seconds before referring to me as a werewolf. “Our kind has a wolf spirit within us which awakens once we turn twenty-one, and once our wolf is awake our wolf leads us to our soulmate. My wolf woke up at midnight last night and led me straight to you.” “I’m sorry.” “Why?” My heart skipped a beat. We had already bonded it would only hurt us both so much more if she tried to push me away now, I could endure the pain but I hated to think of her going through that. “You find me disgusting and yet your wolf chose me. Maybe you could do something to persuade him to pick someone more suitable.” Tears were starting to form in her eyes as she spoke the last few words and I couldn’t bear seeing her like that. I laid back down in the bed, pulling her down on top of me so that her head was resting against my chest. “It’s not like that Luna, werewolves have one mate for life and you are mine. There is nothing that we can do to change that and I would never wish to even try. You are perfect in every way and I am so happy to call you mine.” “But what about those things you said in class yesterday?” She wiggled around on top of me. I know that she was doing it because she felt self-conscious over what I had said about her figure, but the way she moved against me made my c**k even harder than it already was. Melody noticed what she was doing to me and became very still while her cheeks turned a cute shade of pink. “I made a huge mistake. I was already annoyed that I hadn’t been able to work out who my mate was yet and when I realised that you were listening in to our conversation I lost my temper and took it out on you. I should never have spoken to you like that and I am willing to do whatever it takes to make you forgive me.” “You shouldn’t have said such things in front of a whole room full of people but I believe you were just honestly telling your friends how you felt. If it wasn’t for your wolf’s interference then you wouldn’t have even looked twice at someone like me.” “What is that supposed to mean?” I asked. “I’ve seen some of the girls that you have slept with, they are all tall and supermodel slim. That is clearly the kind of woman you find attractive and I am not either of those things.” “I only slept with them because I couldn’t sleep with humans, werewolves are generally taller than humans and their metabolism is a lot faster. I would much rather have taken you to my bed months ago but it would have been hard for me to explain the whole knotting thing without you finding out what I was.” I could tell from the look in Melody’s eyes that she didn’t believe that I really wanted her, I needed to do something to prove the way I felt about her. So I wrapped my arms around her tightly and held her against my body before claiming her lips. She was shocked by my sudden advances but she didn’t try to pull away from me instead, she tangled her fingers into my hair and moaned against my lips as she kissed me back with more passion. Now that we were fully bonded to each other I could feel her arousal inside of me, mixing with my own. Driven forward by the feelings of arousal that I was getting from my mate, I ran my hands down her body until I reached the hem of her t-shirt. I started to lift it up when Melody suddenly pulled away from me, pushing it back down as she sat upright on top of me. She was straddling me with her core directly over my incredibly hard c**k. “I thought we were having a serious conversation, if I had known that it was just a ploy to get me to sleep with you again then I would have left ages ago,” Melody shouted, placing her hands on her hips and trying to look stern. To me, she just looked beautiful and completely adorable. I had just told her that I was a werewolf and not only was she not afraid of me, but she was also telling me off, I loved it. ‘That is only because she thinks you are lying, you f*****g moron. How the hell did I get stuck with an i***t human.’ My wolf growled within my mind. “I am being serious, but I couldn’t exactly let my Luna think I didn’t find her attractive. You didn’t believe me when I told you that I wanted you, so I thought I would show you.” I lifted my hips so that she could feel my hard c**k pressing against her core. “Why does everyone keep calling me Luna when that isn’t my name?” “It isn’t your name, it is a mark of respect. Other people will call you by that title to acknowledge that you are mine.” I didn’t want to explain everything about pack dynamics yet, I was worried that it would overwhelm her. It wasn’t something that I would be able to keep from her for long but maybe I could at least wait for her to believe that I was a werewolf rather than a human who had lost their mind. Melody was contemplating my words, she was thinking so hard that her arms dropped from her hips and fell loosely to her side. Taking advantage of her lapse in concentration, I took hold of her hips and threw her down onto the mattress. Before she had time to move I crawled on top of her and started kissing her neck and shoulder. When I found the small section of skin where I had marked her the evening before I began sucking gently on her skin. “Ace, you need to stop that, we have to go to class soon,” she complained. But that didn’t stop her nails from digging into my back or the scent of her arousal from filling my room. “f**k classes, I want to spend all day here with you.” I purred against her mark, the vibrations of my purr against her skin made her roll her hips forward and moan. “We shouldn’t do this, if I start missing classes then my friends will be worried. They might even call the police.” “We wouldn’t want that, would we?” I said as I slowly kissed my way up her neck towards her face. “No, so we should probably stop before we get carried away.” The fingers of her left hand tangled into my hair and she pulled me down so that my lips met hers. She held me tightly against her as I ran my tongue over her lips and into her mouth. I readjusted my weight so that I could touch her, but just as I was about to slip my fingers under her clothes, her phone started ringing. “Don’t answer it,” I told her, before nibbling on her lower lip and kissing her again more passionately. She kissed me back but I could tell that she was distracted, after a few moments she pushed me away and started reaching for her phone. “They won’t stop ringing until I answer it.” She explained before hitting the button to answer the call. I continued to kiss her neck and ran one of my hands along her curves as she placed the phone to her ear. My werewolf hearing meant that I could clearly hear the voice of a panicked woman on the other end of the phone. “Slow down and tell me what’s wrong,” Melody said after a few seconds. “You disappeared last night and I couldn’t find you. Now I have just met Sadie for breakfast and she told me that you left with jerk face. Please tell me that she is lying and you didn’t spend all night at his place.” “I don’t know what you are talking about.” Melody’s voice was soft and it quivered slightly as she spoke, I am pretty sure that her friend would be able to see right through her lies. “You always were a s**t liar. Now tell me where you are, I am coming to collect you.” Melody started stuttering her way through a reply but before she could finish agreeing to her friend’s demands I pulled the phone out of her hand. “You’re not coming here, but we will meet you in the large coffee shop at the centre of the campus in one hour.” Before her friend had time to reply I ended the call and turned my attention back to my mate.
