Chapter 31: Learning something new

When they got to Amir's house, they got off their cars. Amir excused himself and went inside his house.

" So how much? " he asked taking out his wallet.

Georgia shook her head. " No need, I was just helping out. Have a great day. " She walks past him.

" Wait! How about some coffee tomorrow to thank you?" it was probably his first time asking a girl out which surprised him. Georgia faintly smiled and said without turning to look at him.

"I don't like coffee."

"Lunch then.

"I'll be busy in the afternoon."

Daven was stunned inside, she just rejected him just like that." How about dinner?"

She slightly turns her head. "Where?"

" Give me your number, I'll text you tonight. " he took out his phone and gave it to her.

"Let me give you a lift." He offered.

" Thank you, but I'll take the cab."

Daven didn't persuade her any further and went inside the house to say goodbye to Amir.

It was already past 8 and Brittney wasn't home. ' Where is this woman? ' He planned to cook but then thought of looking for her at her workplace.

Just as he was about to open the door, Brittney opened first. First thing he noticed was her tired tired appearance then a bandaid on the side of her forehead.

" What happened on your forehead?" He looks at her carefully and saw a few scratches on her left cheek.

"Just the crime that occured today." she lazily walked to the living room and fell straight on the sofa and dozed off Daven didn't ask anymore question and went to the kitchen to start cooking.

When he was done, he went to wake her up. He softly tapped her shoulder. " Wake up, dinner is ready" Brittney groaned and lazily opened her eyes. After today's crime that involved running after the thieves, was so tiring If she was not hungry, she would've went straight to bed. Good thing is that tomorrow was weekend and she doesn't work on weekends.

She slowly walks to the dinner table still feeling drowsy. "I bet it wasn't a great day today. "

" It was just exhausting, that's all." She didn't feel like talking to anyone at that moment. As soon as she started eating, she was lightened up. They both ate in silent. When they were done, the meal made Brittney feel more drowsy.

Daven cleaned the table and washed the dishes, when he was done Brittney was already asleep. He tried to wake her up to go to bed but she gave no sign of waking up. He picked her up and went to her room. He gently placed her on the bed and planned to cover her with a quilt when he realized that she was still in her uniform. He hesitated a bit as last time he changed her, he suffered from erection. Her body was just so arousing. He went over to her cupboard, picked up her pyjamas and changed her After that he went to his room and took a shower and put on his pyjamas.

He took his phone and searched for a place they can go. When he found the place, he texted Georgia and switched off his phone.

Should he be teeling guilty of going out with someone while still married? Well he doesn't remember any of that and he has no feelings for her.

He slowly closed his eyes to sleep. The next day Brittney woke up around 1 pm and washed her face before coming downstairs feeling a little pain on her abdomen. She ignored it thinking it was going to go away.

" You only wake up now? "

"I was too tired yesterday. It was a long day." she opened the fridge and takes out a bottle of water.

" You missed a delicious breakfast at Granny Tae's house this morning. It's funny how I only realize it now that it was much better without you around." He joked on his way out of the kitchen.

Brittney huffed and drank a mouthful of water feeling moody. "It's still early for your attention seeking." She murmured and followed him.

" And where is my breakfast? " her tone wasn't the gently and soft one, instead it was a demanding one which Daven had never heard from her before.

He immediately turned to look at her feeling puzzled ' What did I do to deserve such tone? ' His eyes naturally moved down at her body and noticed some blood stains inbetween her thighs. Immediately his heart stopped beating and started to think wildly. ' Could it be that I got aroused too much last night that I lost control and went to her room and did this to her without knowing it? '

Brittney ignored Daven's silent and sneezed. This sneeze caused more pain on her abdomen and shrieked." ahh! "

She felt a slimy liquid coming down under her and realized something. 'Period! ' She looked down at herself and saw the red blood on her pyjamas. She looked back at Daven and saw his stunned face looking directly down her thighs. Feeling embarrassed she runs upstairs to clean herself

Daven stood there still. He only got back to his senses five minutes later after Brittney was gone. He was about to run upstairs to her to apologize for what he did but stopped to think things through wether if he really did it.

He went to his computer and did a research on women who bleeds. After a half an hour he was relieved when he found out that it was just something girls go through every month. He laughed at himself because he never knew that." Stupid me."

He grew up with his strict grandfather on his side all day and was homeschooled from grade 4 so he didn't get the same education that other children who went to school got. To him was just learning about wars and business. Today he learned something new which he was proud of as he knew nothing about how the female body works.

He picked up a pen and a piece of paper and began writing. " Some menstrual painkillers, lots of chocolate... no." he scratched out the chocolate as he learned that it's bad for her health to eat sweet stuffs. He wrote a whole bunch of stuffs that he saw on the internet for women who are on their period. He didn't know why he wrote that but felt like this is what a man is needed to do for any woman who is going through this.

Another 30 minutes passed and Brittney hasn't come downstairs. He got worried and went to her room. He knocked twice before Brittney allowed him to get in. When he sees Brittney changed into a new cleaned pyjamas curled up into a ball stung his heart. Her blue sheets on the floor had blood stains which made him think of silly questions.

' Won't she loose too much blood? ' He didn't realize it to be this painful. He hurried and bend over to her. Are you okay?"

Brittney was in so much pain that she didn't even recognise the cramps to be this painful and her painkillers were finished. Her face twisted and managed to smile. "I will be alright, I just need to take a walk and I'll be fine." She tries to get out of bed but failed.

" Where is the pain?" he asked with his brows wrinkled in concern. Brittney thinks for a moment and was about to say something else. " Just never mind. "

She wanted him to tell him to sleep next to her and caressed her abdomen, cause that is what he always did in the past. But now... it's just a different story.
