1114 Words
The next day, Brittney begged Daven to drive her to her workplace so that she can return Lloyd's car. After leaving Brittney, he took a cab and went to the restaurant. When he got there, surprisingly it wasn't opened yet and it was already past 9 o'clock. He looked inside through the window and saw no one inside. "What the hell is going on here? Why the restaurant is closed today?" a familiar male's voice said behind him. "Amir, you also here, where is everyone?" Amir snorted " Do I look like I keep everyone with me?" Daven just ignored him, took out his phone and dialed his boss's number. After a few rings, it was answered. " Hello? Boss?" " What do you want my boy? I'm busy. " The background was very busy. " Why the restaurant is not opened yet?" "Oh I forgot to tell you, it will be closed for the remaining days of this week" he drops the call before Daven could even blink. Amir looked at his stunned face. "What did he say?" " The restaurant is closed for this week. Why? I also don't know. " Daven put away his phone feeling happy. " Finally! Luck gets to meet me. Free holidays" "Will he pay us?" Amir sounded a bit desperate Looking at his complicated expression, Daven guessed that something is wrong. "How am I suppose to know that? Anyway it's a great thing after all wether he pays us or not. We get to have a free holiday without asking for it." " Whatever." Amir sighed sadly not knowing what to do. How will he be able to pay his brother's lawyer now? Daven had nothing to do and didn't want to go home sooner. He glanced over at Amir who was lost somewhere in the world and thought of an idea. " So now, I'm free, you're free how about we get to know each other better and be carefree?" Amir didn't seem to hear what Daven just said and stared at him blankly. " What? " "Let's go and get something to drink,I'm thirsty. " He snatched his car keys and opened the drives seat. Amir was late to react as Daven has already started the car. Furious, he screamed, " Ahh! You little twerp get out of my car!" Daven calmly looked at him teasingly and smirked rolling down the window. " You coming in or not? I might as well just leave you here." Amir tried to suppress his anger and reluctantly got in front, in the passenger seat. " You lucky I'm in no mood for your games right now." "It's just a little chat just to know each other better. " Daven wanted to use this opportunity to make friends with him. Otherwise who wants to have this strong, huge man as your enemy? You never know, he might be a great help one day. After driving for 5 minutes, he stopped in front of a bar which he had no idea what's the deal here. When entering inside, Daven thought he had seen Leticia. They found a table right in the corner. " What do you want to drink? " Daven asked calling the waiter. Amir grinned. " It's not like you can afford anything, just give me whatever you can afford." Daven smiled and glanced at the waiter. " Give us your best one in the house." The waiter smiled excitement thinking he caught a big fish. ' Ooh one big tip coming in my way.' Amir gave him a side eye."Just so you know, I ain't paying for that." " Don't worry bro, my treat today. " Daven smiled sheepishly as he also doesn't have any money on him, only his fare. " Here you go gentlemen. " the waiter carefully puts two glasses on the table and left. Amir drank half of his drink in just one gulp." This one definitely earned its name as the best one." He empty his glass within a second. Daven who hadn't tasted it yet chuckled. " Hehe go easy." and called for a refill. " Waiter! " Amir couldn't reject such offer, he drank gracefully. "Chatting with you isn't bad after all." " Don't worry, this is just the beginning." Daven drank a mouthful of his drink and kept asking for refills. The waiter was so happy to serve them back and forth. Three refills for each already and they were still sober. Daven knew himself that he has a strong tolerance of alcohol but didn't expect Amir to be the same. ' This guy is tough.' "I never knew life still existed in bottles, it has been a while since I drank this much and expensive. " Amir was about to ask for a refill when Daven stopped him. "Wanna have some more fun?" Amir was no longer contemptuous towards Daven. He responds happily. " If it's going to make me forget my problems, then hell yeah!" " Great! I'll find you in the car. Amir didn't think too much of it as he now trusts him. Wether it was the alcohol or not, he suddenly trust him. He gets up and left. Daven kinda feels guilty about this, Skipping a bill? That's not him at all. Well in life you have to break some rules. He calls the same waiter. Seeing only him the waiter asked. "Where is your other friend?" " He's on a call outside, just give us one more refill before we pay up. Oh and how much is the bill, please?" He casually asked with a kind smile. The waiter responds happily." That will be $6,300" He places the bill on the table and hurried to get them their refills. If it was the past, it wouldn't be a problem paying, but now he's just a food delivery guy. That's probably his month salary. He quickly took out his fare as a tip to the waiter, feeling guilty of doing this and sneaked out before the waiter came back. When the waiter so the empty table, he broke down in cold sweat and called the security guards. They quickly ran outside and saw Daven and Amir driving off The guards quickly got into their cars and began chasing after them. The waiter went back inside hoping they will be caught before his boss arrives otherwise he's good as dead. Inside the car Amir was really furious with Daven. " I shouldn't have trusted you you assh**e! Now look what you have done, We'll be dead if they catch us! " Daven calmly looked back. " Drive faster dude, they on to us! "
