"...he found new people and stole all our assets leaving us with nothing. Two years late after his cousin's murder, I found out that my brother was taken away because he was accused killing his younger cousin and that I was also involved. And so I never returned back and moved into this city." Daven never expected that from Amir. He could tell that Amir really hated Jordan, which was a good thing and decided to help him. " How much do you need to pay the attorney? " Amir glanced at Daven with hope in his eyes, but a second later it disappears. ' He's just a kid, he doesn't have that much money' he sighed and said. " About $100,000, I only have $72,000." Daven thinks for a moment, now where will he get the money? Maybe his savings account, he can't be that stupid to not have it after he married Brittney, right? He takes out his phone and texted Brittney. " DO I HAVE A SAVINGS ACCOUNT? " Few seconds later, he got a reply " YEAH, I THINK SO JUST GO AND SEARCH IN YOUR STUDY, I THINK YOU'LL FIND IT THERE WHY? " Daven heaved in a relief and smiled carefully looking at Amir. " Well I can help a bit. Only if you are willing." Amir thought he had heard wrong ." Really?" "Yeah, you are my first friend after all." Well that sentence was true. " Oh my god! Thank you so much Dave! I promise to pay you back as soon as possible." Amir was all smiles. This made him look different as he is always grumpy. You don't have to pay me back." he paused before continuing."Let's just say it's a favor you have to return in the future." Amir quickly responded." Anything, I will do anything." Daven smiled in satisfaction, when he's done helping Brittney he has to leave to sort out his life and expose his cruel cousin. " Don't worry. I will just need your help with something small." Amir smiled happily, almost crying. Never he would think that boy he hated for years would be the one to help him. "Let's exchange numbers incase you may need me." They exchanged numbers and chatted about other things. At lunch time, Amir dropped Daven off at his house and left. Daven didn't waste anytime and went to his study and started to look for his savings account card. He wasn't sure if there is enough money in there. He searched everywhere, his drawers, on the bookshelves, even in Brittney's work stuff, inside all the books, behind the curtains of the big window. After searching for an hour and all he found was his necklace, given by his mother. " Where the f*ck is it! " he accidentally trips on boxes and falls down next to his chair. "F*ck! Is the alcohol taking it's effect only now? " He didn't get up immediately and stared at the ceiling. A moment later, his eyes wandered around and stopped under the chair. ' What's that? ' He gets up and carefully takes out the envelop that was tapped under the chair. He quickly tears it open and took out a folded paper which had all his passwords and pin for his bank account. " Finally! So this i***t had hidden you there all along what a smart and dumb move. " he suddenly laughed at himself because he is the i***t. Inside the envelop, a card fell out. He quickly downloads a bank account app and put all his details that were written on the paper. ' So this i***t knew I was going to forget them someday. ' He sat down smiling to himself. When everything was set, he checks the amount of money that was in there. Shocked, he refreshed again thinking maybe the app had miscalculated. Still seeing the same amount, he frowned. " How the f*ck do I have $67million? " No the real question was,how did he manage to save $67million in just 8 years or so? What he didn't know was that after he was saved by Brittney, he was able to transfer money from his private account which he used a different name and no one had knowledge about, to his now current one. He recovered from his shock and opened his diary on his computer. He eyes scanned roughly on the paper for his diary password and found it. Turns out it was just Brittney's name. When he got in, he opened the oldest ones first which were about his plans to avenge to his cousin, and the most recent ones were about Brittney and him. He reads one of them as followed. " Dear diary day, 721 of losing some of my memories. Looks like in the future I won't be able to remember anything about me, maybe even about Brittney It's been 6 years since we're married, and 7 years of our relationship. I never knew I would fall in love with a woman I never expected to be with...the woman that saved my life. If it ever happen that I lose all my memory of her, to my future self, promise to give yourself time to try and remember her as she is the woman that I cannot live without and plan to build a family with. I know how stubborn I can get and might not believe her and leave her, if that happens... then you are just an idiotic motherf**ker that deserves to die." " Whoa what a harsh thing to say about myself. Too bad I have to break that promise. Although Brittney is not bad herself, but I can't be with someone with I don't love." Daven opens another one that had a different color than all the other ones. " Let's see what's in here." He clicks the open box and began reading. " Dear diary. This is a task for my future self that needs to be completed. It's about Brittney's family. My intentions ar..." The diary wasn't completed which Daven didn't get his intentions of doing that. After reading it, it aroused curiosity about Brittney's childhood and background. It surprised him that he never heard her speak about her parents or siblings. " Well that I will do, but the promise. that's a big no. You can't force love bro. " He takes his phone and calls Amir After hanging up he sends him the money and began cleaning up his study. " What a mess I made! " After he was done, he suddenly thought of getting a car. With that idea he went to check up online. ... Lloyd has been holding back the question since morning and it tore him inside. He felt the urge to know who the hell was Dave! " Brittney, may I ask something?" He gently touched her hand which startled her. " Y-yeah sure." She was confused by Lloyd sudden actions. He looked at her straight in her eyes with gentleness and affection. " Promise to answer it honestly?" "Yes" Brittney started to get nervous. Why? she also doesn't know. It was her first time seeing Lloyd acting this way.' Is he going to ask about why I didn't come to work yesterday? What should I say? ' " Who's Dave? " It was like she was hit by a lightning, she never expected that question from any of her colleagues. " He's my friend and roommate." she tried to sound as legit as possible and hide the guilt of lying. Suddenly, Sergeant James comes in saving Brittney. " There's something we need to talk about, follow me." Brittney didn't waste any second and followed him immediately leaving Lloyd in confusion. ' What a lucky escape.'
