The applause from the press conference still echoed in their ears— But the danger had already moved ahead of them. Night fell quickly over Monaco, too quiet. Inside the penthouse—Everything looked normal. But nothing felt safe. Leonard stood by the window, scanning the streets below, his instincts sharp. "I don't like this," he said. Isabella, seated on the couch, glanced up. "Which part?" she asked calmly. "All of it."He turned to face her fully."She backed down too easily." Isabella exhaled slowly. "She didn't back down." A pause. "She changed tactics." Leonard grabbed his phone. "I'm increasing security. No one gets close to you—" "Leonard."Her voice stopped him. He looked at her. "I'm not going to hide," she said firmly. His jaw tightened."This isn't about hiding." "It is," she replied. She stood, walking toward him slowly. "If I start running now, she will win." Leonard stepped closer. "And if something happens to you?" he asked quietly. Isabella held his gaze, unshaken. "Then we make sure it doesn't." The confidence in her voice didn't calm him.It made him more alert because Victoria wasn't predictable and that made her dangerous. Suddenly— The lights went out. Everything plunged into darkness. A second of silence. Leonard moved instantly. "Stay behind me," he ordered. But Isabella was already alert, her breathing steady, her senses sharp. Emergency lights flickered on— Dim. And then— A sound, a soft click, from the door. Leonard's eyes darkened. "Who's there?" his voice cut through the silence. No answer Then— The door creaked open slowly. A figure stepped inside, masked, not alone, few armed men followed. Leonard didn't wait, he moved, fast, precise. The first man barely reacted before Leonard struck, knocking him down hard. Chaos exploded instantly. Isabella stepped back—but not in panic, in calculation. One of them lunged toward her— Wrong move. She grabbed the glass vase from the table and smashed it against his head, sending him off balance. Leonard turned just in time to pull her back as another attacker rushed forward. "Get out!" he snapped. "I'm not leaving you!" she shot back. Another hit came— Leonard blocked it, his movements controlled but brutal. "Isabella!" he yelled. A second of hesitation—Then she understood. This wasn't about bravery, it was strategy. She ran, not away—But toward the alarm panel. Her fingers slammed the emergency system. A piercing alarm filled the building instantly. The attackers froze. Too late. Security was already responding. "Move!" Within seconds— They were gone. Vanished, like they were never there. They took them to them into a dark room where they torture them. Except—They were because the damage remained. The broken glass, the overturned furniture, the silence after chaos. Leonard stood still, breathing controlled—but his eyes were burning. Isabella turned back toward him. "Are you hurt?" she asked quickly. He didn't answer immediately. Instead—He walked toward her and pulled her into him, tight, too tight. "You really did good, I'm proud " he said, his voice low and dangerous. " I'll not allow any danger come to you." " Thank God, they did not hurt anyone." She said. This wasn't just a threat anymore, it was a message, and they both knew who sent it. Leonard pulled back slightly, his expression turning cold. "She just made a mistake." Isabella frowned slightly."I knew she'll make moves?" His eyes darkened."She made it personal." A slow pause. "And now..."His voice dropped."I end it." Across the city— Victoria stood on a balcony, watching the ocean. Calm, untouched. Her phone buzzed. "The mission was not successful," a voice reported. Victoria smiled faintly. "I didn't expect them to succeed," she said softly. A pause. "This was just the beginning." Her eyes lifted toward the dark horizon. "Let them feel safe for now" Another pause. "Then we take everything." Back at the penthouse—Leonard's phone buzzed. A message.Unknown number. He opened it.A single line. "Next time... you won't be fast enough and my mission will not fail." Leonard's grip tightened around the phone. His expression didn't change but his voice did. "There won't be a next time." Beside him—Isabella's eyes hardened. Because now, There was no turning back. No peace, only war.
