**Title:** *The Unplanned Detour* 🌧️❤️
---
*Scene: Riya is out shopping for her friend’s birthday gift when she spots Priyansh nearby, looking completely lost with a broken-down car and a phone with no signal.*
---
**Riya:** (smirking) Look who’s stranded in the middle of nowhere. Did your fancy car finally give up on you?
**Priyansh:** (turning to see her, sighs) Oh, wonderful. Out of all the people in the world, *you* had to show up right now.
**Riya:** (grinning) It’s called karma. Maybe it’s payback for your charming attitude.
**Priyansh:** (rolling his eyes) Trust me, I’d rather deal with the car than listen to your lecture.
**Riya:** (crossing her arms) Fine, have it your way. Enjoy waiting here while I go find the birthday present I was supposed to be buying. (she turns to leave but then pauses) But, uh… do you actually need help?
**Priyansh:** (grumbling) Only because my phone is dead and this thing won’t start. I’ve been trying to fix it for the past half hour.
**Riya:** (laughing) Wow, a whole half hour? You’re practically a mechanic.
**Priyansh:** (sarcastic) You’re hilarious, Riya. But if you’ve got nothing useful to add, maybe just… carry on.
**Riya:** (rolling her eyes) Alright, Mr. Independent. Step aside. Let’s take a look.
*Riya walks over to the car, peeking under the hood while Priyansh watches, amused.*
**Priyansh:** (mocking) So, Miss Teacher knows her way around an engine too? Should I be taking notes?
**Riya:** (ignoring him, focused) You’d be surprised at the things I can handle. You, however, don’t seem to be one of them.
*After a few minutes of tinkering, Riya tries to start the car, but it refuses to cooperate.*
**Priyansh:** (smiling) So… still confident about your mechanical skills?
**Riya:** (huffing) Well, maybe this car’s just as stubborn as you are.
*Suddenly, it begins to rain heavily, catching them both off guard. They scramble to get into the car.*
**Riya:** (shivering) Great, now I’m stuck in a tin can with *you* while a monsoon decides to hit.
**Priyansh:** (grinning) Look on the bright side. At least you got a free ride.
**Riya:** (sarcastic) Oh, yes, *so* worth it.
*They sit in silence for a moment, both listening to the rain pounding on the roof of the car.*
**Priyansh:** (sighs) So… you mentioned a birthday gift earlier. Shopping for a friend?
**Riya:** (nodding) Yeah, it’s my best friend’s birthday tomorrow. I had this whole plan, but now I’m stuck here… with *you.*
**Priyansh:** (teasing) You make that sound like such a tragedy.
**Riya:** (rolling her eyes) Trust me, it’s not the highlight of my day.
**Priyansh:** (grinning) Really? I thought running into me would be the best part of anyone’s day.
**Riya:** (laughs) You clearly don’t know me at all.
*They both laugh, and for a moment, the tension softens.*
---
*Suddenly, Priyansh’s stomach growls loudly, breaking the silence.*
---
**Riya:** (laughing) Wow, did a lion just enter the car?
**Priyansh:** (embarrassed) Alright, alright, laugh it up. I skipped lunch, okay?
**Riya:** (reaching into her bag) Lucky for you, I always carry emergency snacks. (she hands him a small sandwich)
**Priyansh:** (smiling, genuinely grateful) I take back every sarcastic thing I said. You’re a lifesaver.
**Riya:** (smiling) Don’t get too used to it.
*He takes a bite, and they sit in comfortable silence for a while.*
---
*Moments later, Riya glances out the window and sees that the rain is letting up a bit.*
---
**Riya:** (thinking out loud) If we walk quickly, we might make it to the main road and flag down a cab.
**Priyansh:** (grinning) Or you could just stay here with me, enjoy the view… or what’s left of it.
**Riya:** (giving him a look) You’re really not helping.
**Priyansh:** Alright, alright, I’ll come along. But only because I don’t trust you alone with my car.
**Riya:** (laughs) Like I’d want it anyway.
*They both get out, bracing themselves against the drizzle as they make their way down the muddy road.*
---
*As they walk, Priyansh slips on a patch of mud, falling spectacularly onto his back. Riya can’t contain her laughter.*
---
**Riya:** (laughing) Oh my God, are you okay? That was… (snickers) That was the most graceful fall I’ve ever seen.
**Priyansh:** (groaning, annoyed) Glad my misery amuses you.
**Riya:** (reaching out to help him up) Hey, at least you’re already dirty. Nothing else to worry about, right?
**Priyansh:** (rolling his eyes, but takes her hand) You’re really enjoying this, aren’t you?
**Riya:** (smiling) Maybe a little. Okay, maybe a lot.
*They continue walking, Priyansh now muddy and grumbling while Riya tries (and fails) to hide her giggles.*
---
*Finally, they reach a small roadside stall selling tea and snacks. They duck under the roof to escape the rain.*
---
**Priyansh:** (sighs, ordering tea) Well, here’s to unplanned detours and rainstorms, I guess.
**Riya:** (raising her cup) And to your ungraceful fall. May it live forever in my memory.
**Priyansh:** (laughing) Oh, trust me, I’ll remember this too.
*As they drink their tea, an elderly couple walks up to the stall and starts chatting with them.*
**Old Man:** (smiling) Ah, young love. Always arguing but never really apart.
**Riya and Priyansh:** (simultaneously) We’re not a couple!
*They look at each other, startled, and then laugh.*
**Old Woman:** (winking) Sure, sure. That’s what my husband and I used to say.
**Priyansh:** (amused, to Riya) I think we’re officially doomed. Everyone just *assumes* we’re together.
**Riya:** (smiling) Well, maybe if you weren’t so irritating, they’d assume otherwise.
**Priyansh:** (mocking) Oh, so it’s all *my* fault now? I see how it is.
**Riya:** (laughing) Glad we’re on the same page.
*They continue joking around, but underneath the teasing, there’s a sense of warmth growing between them.*
---
*After a while, they flag down a cab to get back to the city. As they settle into the cab, Priyansh looks over at Riya with a thoughtful expression.*
---
**Priyansh:** (softly) You know, today wasn’t that bad.
**Riya:** (pretending to be surprised) Is that… a compliment?
**Priyansh:** (smiling) Don’t get used to it. I’ll probably take it back tomorrow.
**Riya:** (laughing) Typical. But, yeah… it was kind of fun.
*The cab continues down the road as they both sit quietly, a comfortable silence hanging between them.*
---
*As they reach Riya’s stop, she opens the door and glances back at Priyansh.*
---
**Riya:** (smiling) Well, Mr. Architect, try not to get stranded in the rain next time. I might not be around to save you.
**Priyansh:** (grinning) Hey, I’d be just fine. But thanks… for everything.
**Riya:** (smiling) Anytime. Well… maybe not *anytime,* but you get it.
*She waves goodbye and heads off, leaving Priyansh staring after her with a soft smile.*
