CHAPTER 33
A SUPRISE VISITJamie arrived back home several days later on the provision that her family or friends check in on her while the detectives monitored her daily. She was sitting with Bella, Liz, Gabriella, and Joy around the patio timber table outside her backyard, the sun’s glare hitting one part of the table while a tall tree provided shade to the other half. The picket fence was visible, and another towering tree stood close to the immaculate well-cut lawn.
Jamie pushed down nerves about sleeping in her own bed tonight, but being a Saturday probably meant Angelo wasn’t working today. A part of her wanted to see him, but another part didn’t have the energy to experience any emotions.
