It was uncertain whether Alessandro’s grandfather was shocked because a woman was pregnant for his grandson or if he was disgusted by the fact that I was the one involved with him. Surely, his hatred for my father didn’t go unnoticed.
“Yes.” A clicking sound from Alessandro followed and he eased his stern posture to fold his arms. “And now that issue is settled, I hope you remember our discussion. And I hope you keep your word.”
