“Closing up,” I hollered over my shoulder as I stood by the light switch off to the side of the bleachers. “No time for a quick game, Ducks?” I froze, my hand motionless atop the switch. My heart suddenly beat madly in my chest as my brain tried to latch on to the image of that nearly-forgotten person, to that voice of his. “That you, John?” I managed, my voice echoing out in all directions. “Someone else call you Ducks?” came the reply. I chuckled nervously and turned.
