CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR Vicente was frustrated, and seriously worried. His next target wasn’t where he was supposed to be. After leaving the Delany home, Vicente had driven the father’s car for as long as he dared before ditching it. Sporting a pair of sunglasses and one of the dad’s Hawaiian t-shirts and feeling like a fool, although marginally safer for the disguise, he had boarded a bus and took it to an eastside barrio. In his hands he carried a small briefcase with several changes of clothing.
