Author's PoV When Anna came out of the maze on the other end and looked behind, there was nobody. "Zach?" She called, afraid he'd have felt bad for the little stunt she just managed to pull, and sure enough, there was no reply. The labyrinth was complicated but being born and brought up in that town, she had been to enough local parks and fairs to know how to know her was through this one and quite confidentially so, but she found herself doubting if she was doing it right or just moving around in circles because wherever she went, only her voice was brought back to her. There was no other echo, no other person, not even a whisper or a slight trace of Zach's presence, as if she had hallucinated being with him this entire time.
