[ Author's POV ] – twenty years ago – The water filled around Zach, slowly rising from his feet to his chest and then to his shoulders, gradually even rising over his lips and touching my nose. He kept trying to jump as much as he could, trying to defeat the water level but the pressure kept pushing me down. He was suffocating, trying to grab something or to get some air. Anything would do. He was desperate for oxygen, to live, to see the sun rise the next day. It was all tiring. He should have listened to his mother. He should have stayed out of the waters.
