"Well for those of you that I haven't met before, I am Alpha Bradley Storm, this is my wife Luna Catherine Storm and our sons, Ted and Blake, who are being very rude due to their tardiness should be joining us very soon" I couldn't help but stare at the handsome man before me.
I know for a fact that the Storm parents were at least the same age as my parents, but they looked as if they weren't a day over 25. You would expect faint wrinkles and grey hairs decorating their heads but, alas, there was none. It was a complete contrast to the elders before them.
Alpha and Luna, as well as my parents all had noticeable wrinkles and grey hairs. They looked exactly how old they were, if not older.
It was clear who the healthier and stronger parties were in this scenario and I could tell that it put my family on edge.
For years and years, we were taught to believe that our way of life strengthened our human forms, resulting in us living longer than the average werewolf. It was now clear just how blinded we have been.
"We thank you for the warm welcome Alpha Storm, I'd like to introduce you too my wife..." Alpha Raymond's voice drifted off as a huge waft of fresh rain engulfed my surroundings.
A scent hit my nostrils and I let out a low growl, something I hadn't done in years. It smelt as if I was standing in the middle of a freshly rained-upon forest mixed with a hint of fruity zest and it had my wolf surfacing.
Alpha Raymond had introduced us all by now and everyone was staring at me curiously.
Well everyone that is a part of my family.
I'm sure the Storm family were used to hearing growls.
I couldn't help it, my self-control was completely weakened because of the heavenly smell.
"Oh here they are, Ted, Blake" Alpha Storm called out for his sons to enter the room and when he did, I almost collapsed.
In walked a tall dark and handsome man but then strolling in behind him, an Adonis that made my knees weak, my heart race, my head spin, and made my wolf purr stepped into the room.
Our eyes locked and my entire world flipped. He was beautiful, strong and powerful, everything one would hope for in a mate and he was all mine.
Well he was meant to be all mine... I could literally feel my heart breaking as a female stepped to his side and flipped her hair off of her shoulder to show off her freshly settled mark. I was praying that it wasn't his but by the way he broke eye contact with me to kiss the mark lovingly, all the hope and admiration drained from my body.
My mate was... Already Mated.
All eyes were locked on me as I crumbled to the floor.
"Kathy?!"
"Oh my goddess"
"Katherine Green, are you ok?"
"Oh baby girl"
I could feel worry, confusion and panic flood the room and I felt like I couldn't breath.
I opened my eyes hesitantly as I felt Wyatt cradle my head to his lap.
There he was again. My mate.
His grey eyes were looking at me with so much confusion and anger that I couldn't help but admire the storm brewing within them.
They kept flashing from black to grey as he took in my weak form.
Our eyes were locked onto each other as he stared at me from behind my brother.
Worry and anger are evident in his eyes.
He looked as if he was fighting with himself like he wanted to help me but kept stopping himself from doing so.
I broke eye contact with him and slowly pushed myself off of the ground.
"Katherine, what's going on? Are you ok?" my mother panicked from beside me as she helped me stand.
"I-I'm ok, I think I'm ok" I forced out as I stood straight and took in a deep breath.
I closed my eyes momentarily to help myself calm down and steady.
This couldn't be happening.
I forced my eyes open again to see everyone looking at me like I was about to drop dead.
"Kate?" my dad stepped forward, surprisingly enough, followed by Alpha Bradley.
"Are you alright Miss? Do you need a glass of water or is there anything else I can get for you?" Alpha Bradley seemed worried as well as he peered deeply into my eyes.
His grey orbs remind me of his sons.
I slowly shook my head as my gaze fixed itself upon the soaking-wet man in the doorway.
He still hadn't said a single word as his intense gaze stared into my soul.
He looked me up and down with so much confusion written on his face it made me want to roll into a ball and cry.
"Dad, I need to speak with you" I had to forcibly make sure my knees didn't buckle as his velvet-smooth voice broke the silence.
"Not right now Blake, this poor young girl isn't well, whatever it, is it can wait..." Blake cut his dad off abruptly, causing everyone's gaze to shift to him.
"It cannot wait" was all he said as he began to walk out of the room, whispering something to the girl he brought with him as he left. "Now Father!" he called from the next room.
"I am so sorry about this, he usually doesn't act so childish," Alpha Bradley said as he began exiting the room.
