“What did you two talk about?”
I turned my face away, bitter and cold.
“About everything. You already know.”
He hissed, impatient.
“If there’s something you’re hiding from me, you’ll regret it later, Ella. I’m warning you, tell me before it’s too late.”
My chest tightened, and a tear slipped before I could stop it. I wiped it quickly.
“What could I possibly hide from you, Alpha Marcus?”
He grabbed my face roughly, his hands pressing into my cheeks. His eyes searched mine like he was trying to drag the truth out of me.
“I don’t know what it is, but I know you’re holding something back. Stop shaking. I’m not going to eat you alive if you just tell me, damn it!”
