Elias
She was radiant.
Ponytail pulled tight over a soft face, her copper curls cha-chaing with the movement of her head tilting. I didn’t want to scare her, but she looked so deep in thought that any movement or sound was sure to startle her. I felt my heart skip, its erratic beat hindering me lost for words, so I stood frozen in that moment, just watching. When she finally realised, her embarrassment flooded her soft cheeks and mine flushed at the realisation I was watching her.
When she spoke, it was casual and fluid and indeed confident. She strode toward me, and I was ready to take her in my arms and whisk her away. She liked what she saw too, her face raw and honest.
I needed to get closer, to smell her skin, to feel her breath...
She suddenly looked faint.
“Are you alright…Dionne?!”
Without meaning to, my hand reached out to hers to steady her, its touch sending tingles through my mind. I wasn’t sure if I pronounced it right, her name tag pinned in tight above her breast. She didn’t correct me, so I took it as a win. I wanted to scrap the idle chit-chat, forgetting my purpose, but she reigned me back in.
Yes, I was a bit cheeky. I could tell she was a little disappointed when I announced I was buying a gift for someone special, but she held her composure well. She could sell me a soap on a string and I’d gladly buy dozens just to hear her voice. She presented me with a beautiful, classic and elegant set of earrings and pendant. Their intricate work reflected her beauty. I could see why she loved the pieces. They would look like they belonged on her flawless golden skin. Sure, my mother would love them too, but now I had other ideas. I casually paid the $5000 on the card, thanked the most beautiful woman for her help and left the store.
Man, I wanted to take one last look at her, breathe in her swirl of Jasmine and coconut. But I knew it would not be enough. I wanted to see if she was still lost in my scent, but I had to gain some self-control. At least for now! So I left the store as casually as possible, knowing that I'd make any excuse to be back again soon.
SHIT! 5.25 PM and the shops were closing!
There was not a chance in hell I’d find a gift for mum now. Gift card, it is! I know she’ll understand.

I didn’t mean to follow her; she had parked right next to me. What were the odds? What a car! She was a woman on a whole different level. I would never imagine this petite, elegant girl behind the wheels of her “Beast” as her plates read.
She liked power and being in control. That much I could tell already. I wondered what my father would say being mated to a human, because I couldn't sense anything remotely mystical about her scent.
I knew I needed more, and moved in slowly. Once again startling her, as I stopped just before her, standing in thought.
Say something, you’re gonna freak her out, you i***t!
My wolf paced inside me, hungry for what was his.
OURS!
I corrected him. She will be just as much mine as yours.
‘’I hoped to see you again…”
I didn’t mean for that to slip, my voice quivering with desire and desperation; I knew she sensed it, so I tried to pull back my wolf.
Easy boy, I won’t let her go, but we have to play this slow and safe.
I was flattered that she thought I had someone already, but disappointed she thought of me as a cheat. I was anything but that. I wanted to give her the moon. I felt I could reach it with her by MY side.
We moved in tandem, backing up to her car, and I couldn’t help but position my hands on either side of her, her ass slipping back over the smooth bonnet with ease. Watching her breasts bounce with every breath, I rolled my lips over my teeth, silently screaming, damn! I wanted to take her right there, the full moon beating on my back, my wolf ready to claim.
AHHH!
My insides were shredding to pieces as my wolf clawed to break free. However, the voice that followed was one of a gentleman, she did not need to know the battle I was fighting within.
“Do me the pleasure of having dinner with me Dionne, at least once before you make up your mind,” I needed her to say yes, I didn’t want this to be forced.
I took her in, exhaled. She breathed me in. Her lips were trembling and her eyes widening.
“ OK.” It was barely a whisper, but I took it. It was a yes!
Picking myself up off the car, I flicked my hair back out of my face and smiled.
“Tomorrow, after work darling, we eat!”
And God, I hope I get a taste of dessert!
