‎ ‎ ‎I swear the world tilted. Or maybe it was just my stomach. Everything around me moved too fast , the trees, the dust, the stupid sound of the engine screaming like it was begging for help. My throat locked up as we skidded way too close to the edge of the damn drop. ‎ ‎“ZAYDEN!” I screamed, clutching him so tight my nails probably stabbed through his jacket. ‎ ‎“Hold on!” he yelled back. ‎ ‎Another gunshot cracked behind us. And that was it. My soul actually left my body for a second. I felt it floating somewhere above my panic, wondering how the hell my morning turned into a live-action crime movie. ‎ ‎He twisted the bike again, tires spitting dirt everywhere, and the world spun sideways. The drop was still there huge, deep, looking like it wanted to swallow the both of us
