Safehaven

Sunday, 20th November 1442 The trip to the realm was very fruitful indeed past 3 days ago. The children had brought the basket filled with bread and we had been spending the whole 6 hours solid inside the realm just reading a book and piling on copious cups of tea as well as nibble on the bread. It was no joke as 6 hours in the realm was only 2 hours in the real world and we had ended up gaining a lot of knowledge that the children could read up based on my past experiences. A lot of spaces inside the encyclopedia was quite blank especially some of those engineering sections of like supersonic train aerospace and even the submarine which I do not have such interest before. But the children were able to read parts of history as well as some things in the future as well. The children only managed to read up like 2 hours over the book and Ceres had spent 4 hours guiding the children how to utilise the machines. Ceres was the only one corresponding to the children while I and Heather was just sitting around and watching the children manipulate the mouse and learn how to type on the so-called keyboard. The children had asked Ceres so many questions and I was fortunate to have it around as it was able to guide through the projection screen as well as to narrate and guide the children how to use the machines and the Gutenberg printing device. The children ended up with a lit of pictures they could colour when they brought the papers back to the real world and that would be enough to fill up their own free time. At least the children could spare time for themselves to play instead of poring over books like an adult...! They are still children for chrissake...! Hahaha. Of course, they all wanted to have playtime as well...! =*= Today was a Sunday and Eagle, acting as High Priest Eke had conducted his morning sermon over at the Macleod Coliseum. After the sermon, the rest of the Priest and Priestess were busy manning the food wagons. As for Priestess Imelda, she had recovered the night before and was feeling very weak. It was fortunate that it was not a life-threatening ailment that had befallen her but simply she fell unconscious because of over-exertion of her special abilities. When we heard that Priestess Imelda had finally awoken and regain consciousness, I immediately prepared her a pitcher of water that had been imbued with not 5 but 15 Psi Energy orbs to help her gain back her energy. The Guardian over at the hospital was recovering after we visited him last night to check in the progress. Priestess Isabela was able to regenerate back the internals they had been injured and once the internals had been settled, the Guardian could eat normal solids again. Since there was no blood transfusion facility during that century, the Guardian was given foods that could help him gain back the blood loss naturally. He had intakes of liver, heart, lungs and other internal organs of meat to gain back his blood loss. Even Old Kayla had concocted her own set of medicine to help the poor Guardian get back his loss of blood naturally. So far, the progress had been gradual for the Guardian as he would need to be in the hospital for at least another week since the internals had been formed but have yet to see how it would be working and functioning just right. Ah well, at least the Guardian was taken care of by the medical staff, which also consisted part of the Shadow unit members. "Your Majesty, I would be tied up by next week onwards as I go have quite a number of patients to take care of. The midwives had been informed and they would be deployed here and if there's anything that we need, could you be of our assistance?" Old Kayla came up to me last night after our rounds and I obliged to help out as much as we could because they knew that I would be able to conjure up my little friendly flame to become a furnace where it would be able to assist to make perfectly balanced medicinal pills from raw materials. After I agreed with Old Kayla she heaved a huge sense of relief and knew that I could be depended on. Especially when it comes to rare medicinal herbs that somehow require perfect balance. =*= "Dear, are we going to the outskirts of Safehaven to meet with Doc and the rest of them? At least we can take a break from governance but we can never forget to them who had given the gift of the gab for the children at their very young age." Heather tugged at my sleeves as she mentioned about the weekly visits there. The children were excited to take a trip out there to meet their friends as well as Perky the Gnome, who stood almost at the same height as them. "Yes, get the helper to load up some fruits inside the Dragon Boat and then some tins if cake for the three of them. I believed they had received the tins of cakes about 2 weeks ago when Artemis lost his arm and regained back. From the looks of it, I am sure they lived the exquisite smell and taste of the cake. Here, buy at least 3 tins of cakes for the 4 mythical races. " I jiggled a coin pouch towards Heather and she grabbed it and knew what to do with it as she made a heeling to the grocery store after she had given instructions for the helper to load some fruits into the Dragon Boat. I would be making those Health Lozenges on the spot for the 4 mythical races. At least it is something we could offer them since they would be facing nemesis such as trolls and ogres once we had eliminated the orcs. =*= The stuff had been loaded and we do not need any escorts because we have our own communication Sigil and we could get in touch with the individual AAV that was in duty round the clock, patrolling the areas to ensure that our town's perimeter was safe from any harm. Besides, Phoenix and Eagle were practising their Frost Burn Arrows since they had just managed to muster it and before they could hand it down to their subordinates, it would be better for them to hone the skills first. As for the bow attacks skill book, there were numerous basic, elite and expert commands to learn and it would be best for them to learn everything inside the skills book. As long as one muster the whole book, they could mix and match their commands whenever the situation calls for it. We kept to the town's speed limit and when we were outside, I traversed the Dragon Boat on 2nd gear and the children were once again screaming in joy as the Dragon Boat whizzed past the knolls and the greens at more than 25 miles an hour. I had to keep my eyes peeled for any hazard on the ground but was delighted to know that the area was free from any such dangerous outcrop that may cause any accidents... Besides, the AAV had managed to do a good job of covering the whole area with the marks made from the wide wheels. I guess the sergeants on board the AAV were honing their skills in traversing them in a more tactical manner as I saw a lot of skid marks that only a grain seeder would make if a few dozen of those farmers who wields them would be too drunk to move in a straight line...! The lines were so deep that even a mole could take cover and move about without even been seen. These sergeants traversing the AAV really does a lot of damage to the ground but it's fine though since it's good for them to learn to manipulate the vehicles to its maximum capabilities. =*= "Safehaven at last. The place where Robin the Hood had first set up his temporary encampment here in this lands for the last 300 over years. Hahaha. How times flies, don't you think so children?" The children were intent of learning the history of our lands and had come across Joan of Arc before Robin the Hood and were interested in these reputable figures during that time. The also learnt about King Richard the Lionheart and was wondering that how come our family names are unique. "Daddy doesn't a Macleod family name trails back all the way in Ireland or something. And Daddy, your name is not the typical English name but more to a French name instead." HRH Amy was inquiring me since she had read together with her brother and had taken down notes that they would periodically ask me just to see if I am learned about the history that they were reading at the same time too. "Well, your Granpa King Richard and Granma Queen Sylvia were sort of influenced with the French culture before they got married and therefore had chosen a name for me that would represent greatness when Daddy grows up." "Just like you, Amy. Your full name of Angelica Mae is more to a learned person who is musically and artistically inclined." "Sometimes a name does make a person. Like your Mummy, she does not come from a royal lineage but Mummy got married to Daddy and therefore inherits the family name instead. Go and have a research on the family name of Langford, I am sure you would find a lot of interesting facts to the name." During the intermission period, HRH Amy had taken out a genealogy book, flipped through the directories and looked for the Langford household name. She then discovered that their Mummy had a pretty common everyday household name. The direction that showed the particular family name of their Mummy was normally to those who worked as General Labourers or Unpaid Domestic Duties. They learnt that their grandparents on their Mummy side were working in the total kitchen before as helpers. Whatever it is, the children do not have to divulge in their parents past as they were content of who we are right now. =*= "Children, be careful alright? Pick that firewood around the area only and don't go out too far. I would be calling Doc, Perky and Aragorn soon once we have started the fire going." "Besides, I think Mummy had done a great job in getting the biggest cake tin that the 4 mythical races can share with their kin." "We have the big basket filled with assorted fruits that Daddy would be able to produce the Health Lozenges as well as check their stock levels. I'm pretty sure the races would be sucking on those gems whenever they feel like it, don't you think so?" The children smiled and they showed their mouths to me and true enough, their mouths too were filled with the candies, as what they usually termed them. "Hahaha... You children really are ahead of me, eh? What I had said just now was also true and yet you were all doing it. Hahaha. Ah well, I don't mind. We would make some more when the 4 races come here and congregate." Heather was at the cornfields and hollered out to me if I would be taking out some ears of corn to serve later. "Dear...! How many should I pick for the guests later on?" Thinking that the mythical races would be coming in a horde later on after not seeing them for almost a week, I called out to Heather to pick at least 3 dozen of those corns. The balance leftover would be brought back to those who want. Furthermore, these 4 mythical races were not known to waste food so they would finish up whatever that had been given to them. Once we had settled ourselves in the temporary encampment of Safehaven, I took out the spatial storage pouch to summon Doc and also the pebble with the rune inscription to summon Perky. At the meantime, I used the communication Sigil to summon Aragorn and told him to bring along Amadeus, the leader of the wood elves Adventurers over. It took a while for them to congregate and true enough, we were being missed by them as they came in with their usual troops. Our children welcomed them as Heather and I were busily cleaning the ears of corn and putting them in a cauldron that we had stowed away in the hollows of a tree. It was boiling and the aroma of freshly boiled corns could be smelled from a distance. Heather had placed a scoopful of salt inside the boiling cauldron and this helps to bring the taste out from the ears of corn that had been boiling inside the cauldron. "Hello, everyone. It is been some time since I have met with everyone. How is everyone getting along these days?"
