Chapter 2

"I don't think I can do this, Jack, it was hard enough to give up our first child to never see him again." "Sophia, we have no choice." Jack said as his wife sobbed in their bedroom, their child, Rose, fast asleep in her bedroom. Sophia sniffled "When will they be here to collect her?" She asked. Jack then looked at the watch on his wrist. "One hour." Sophia sighed deeply when another sob broke through. "Okay.. I'll prepare for their arrival.." Her voice trailed off as she headed towards the living room. "Darling, she's a strong girl, if she behaves like we taught her, she will be fine." Jack said as he placed his hand on his wife's shoulder as she stared out the front window. "I know.." Sophia said quietly "I don't think I can do this again. Rose will be our last child." Jack nodded. "I agree, we'll talk to the officials tomorrow then?" Sophia just nodded, not saying a word. One hour later, a black car pulled up in their driveway. Two men exited the car and knocked on the door. Jack answered the door. "Evening sir, we are here to collect your child." The man in front said, his eyes glowed red. Jack gestured for them to enter and pointed them in the direction of her bedroom, "She doesn't know anything about the supernaturals, what we are doing and what's gonna happen." The second guy, also with red eyes, started writing down some notes as Jack continued. "She knows how to cook, clean, garden, hunt, fish, and how to defend herself." The first guy opened up the bedroom door. "And why did you not tell her of her fate?" he asked as he walked up to the bed. "Weird way of parenting your children." He smirked as he looked towards Jack. "Then again, you humans are weird." He laughed before looking towards Rose. "Your child is beautiful in human standards, I'm sure she'll be bidded on by quite a few people, that hair of hers and her features make her quite the likable one." He sighed "If only I could see her eyes." He shrugged his shoulders. "Xander pick her up would ya, and be gentle, wouldn't want to break the product." The second man then pocketed his notes and slowly started to pick up Rose, carrying her bridal style with her head nestled in his chest. All three men walked towards the front door. "Wait!" Sophia called out, walking towards them in a hurry. They all turned around and stared at her. Jack raised his eyebrows in confusion at his wife's actions. "C-Can I at least say goodbye?" Sophia stared at her daughter in Xander's arms. Xander looked towards the other man with an eyebrow raised. "Be quick." The other man said before he opened the front door and went towards his car. Sophia ran towards Xander, placing her hands on her daughter's face, tears running fast down her face. "I love you my flower, please be strong out there, do what we taught you and you will be fine." She sobbed before she felt Jack's arms on both her shoulders, pulling her back. "We have to darling," Jack said to his wife gently before he looked up at Xander. "Please take her away." He said with a croak in his voice as he pulled his wife away from the door. Sophia screamed and thrashed her arms around trying to get back to Rose. "I love you Rose!" She cried out. Xander then turned and headed out the front door. Closing the door behind him, he headed towards the black car. He opened up the back door and placed the sleeping Rose in the back of the car before closing the door and opening up the passenger side door of the car and entering the car. "The lady of the house caused quite a fuss." Xander said "Ryan, you were given that girl to sell, I wish you luck." Xander chuckled harshly as he poked Ryan in the shoulder. Ryan shrugged "Don't care, she's exactly like they described her to be, petite, red head." He said as he turned on the car "I'm sure many people will want her." Xander chuckled "How much did you get for her?" He asked as he looked back towards Rose, who was fast asleep. "$500k, as promised." "Christ, that low?" "That's enough money for those two humans to buy another house. I'm sure they'll be fine for a while." Xander then faced the front. "How long do you think she'll be out for?" "If they gave her the right amount, she'll be out until we get back to town and inside her cage." Ryan then laughed. "Lock the car doors just incase, don't want her doing a runner." "Nah, I've got her collar ready for when she's in her cage, she won't even attempt to once she sees us." He then faced Xander and made his eyes glow brighter than before. He also flashed his long white canine teeth. Xander laughed "Hah! I wonder what blood type she is. It might taste good." He said as he licked his lips before looking back towards her "Could do it while she's asleep, won't feel a thing." Ryan then glared at him. "Hey! That's my property." He growled. Xander then placed his hands up in surrender. "Calm down mate, I was only joking." Ryan growled as he sped down the highway. "Whatever. Just do not drink from her and do not harm her. Bruises and cuts will lower her price and I refuse to let that happen." It was a three-hour drive from the human territory to the supernatural territory where the two Vampires were headed, Rose was in a deep sleep the whole time there. The car was headed down the highway before they turned into a turn off heading towards the giant supernatural city. They then turned into a gravel road. At the end of the road sat a large red brick mansion-like building. "Grab the girl and put her in her cage, put her collar on and tie her up." Ryan said as he exited the car and walked towards the front doors "When she's awake, I'll have one of the maids feed her." Xander nodded as he opened the back door and picked up Rose, once again carrying her bridal style. He walked up the stairs and into a room where a large cage sat, wide enough for her to lay down straight in and tall enough for her to stand in. It had a mattress, a pillow and a blanket to keep her warm if she was cold. He then put her in the cage, placing the blanket halfway up as he didn't know if she was warm or not. Taking a black collar off the wall, he placed it around her neck, slightly tight, then attached a leash to the collar and tied it to the wall. He sighed then ran his fingers through his black hair. "Sorry, Rose." He whispered, then got up to leave the room, dimming the light from the light switch. He then closed the door behind him.
