Impure Thoughts

Pt. 2

Of course he would be calling now of all times.

"Hey hun," I answered, "What's up?"

" Hey babe, I was just calling to check on you. How's work?" I could her him shuffling papers in the background letting me know he was still in his office.

"Oh you know, same ole same ole. Just ready for our date night tonight. Everything is already in the crock pot so it'll be ready by the time I come home." I smiled at the thought of us spending time together. It's been so long and my body and wolf were craving his touch.

"No problem love. I have a few more things to do and I'll be heading home shortly. I promised Hallie and Sami that we would watch Frozen." He chuckled. The girls loved spending time with their father so it doesn't surprise me that they demanded time with him as well.

"Sounds good. See you when I get home. Love you."

"Love you too babe." Click. I sat back in my chair and closed my eyes to calm my nerves. What was wrong with me? I have this loving person back home, yet here I am thinking about someone else. Even though I was wasn't doing anything but exploring my thoughts, I couldnt help but feel guilty for having them in the first place. Thats it! From here on out, I'm determined to think of no other man in any way that would not be appropiate. My marriage is my priority and my family means more to me than some fling that may not be worth it.

As if sensing my silent vow, Ron walks around the corner towards the employee bathrooms. He shoots me a quick smile before walking inside and my heart can't help but flutter. Goddess help me.

Finally closing time. I pack up my belongings and stride towards the exit. I cant wait to see my pups, and especially cant wait to see myhusband. As if I had an epiphany, I began to view him and our relationship differently. Despite not being mates, he still made sure to make me feel loved and I will always adore him for accepting me as I am and not just because my father arranged our marriage.

I had just began the drive home when I felt an eerie sense take over me. Where was this coming from? It was a beautiful night and there was no one on the road except me so why did I feel so uneasy. Shoving the feeling aside, I slammed on the gas, eagerly trying to reach home.

There was a corner store on the exit before the road to turn towrads my town, so I stopped by to pick up a few things for Andy. Even though dinner was prepared, I knew that he would enjoy a few snacks throughout the night. After grabbing a few honey buns and soda pop, I walked to the cashier to purchase my items. Then that feeling came back only this tine it was stronger. More intense, as if fear was floating around in the air trying to suffocate all who breathes it in. Something was wrong, terribly wrong. I grabbed the brown bag and ran out of the door, ignoring the confused look on the cashier's face.

As I approached our town, I noticed immediately that we have been attacked. Many of the buildings were on fire and there were lifeless bodies everywhere. Panick arose in me the closer I got to my house, noticing the damage around my neighborhood. 'Andy?? 'I try to mindlink him. 'Are you guys okay? Are the girls okay? What happened? 'No answer. This is not good.

I prayed to the goddess that despite all of this ruin, my family would somehow be untouched and be safe and sound. As I finally reach my house, I noticed the door had been kicked open and splintered everywhere on the floor. My body was shaking while I slowly walked through our living room towards the hallway that led to our rooms. "Andy?" I called out. Still no answer. Please goddess let them have made it out safely. After inspecting each room, they were no where to be found.

I was coming down the stairs when I heard a small creaking sound coming from the basement. My body tensed, and I knew that I was not alone. My steps felt heavy the closer I got to the basement and by the time I reach the bottom of the stairs my heart was beating so fast, I'm sure whomever was there could hear as well. My mind began racing with all of the possibilities of what could and couldve happened. It was dark so I switched on the light to see what was making the noise. My heart dropped at the sight before me. Oh goddess why?
