Don't Let Them Know

“Cam look at me, don’t shift. Don’t let them see you. Now I need you to run inside and find Keegan’s mate, stay with her.” “I’m not going to leave you!” I yelled Now I could see several rogues making their way right for Aiden and I. “Run Cam, Now!” he yelled, I turned to head inside just as he shifted. Before I could run a wolf suddenly jumped over me and landed next to Aiden, it was Keegan. I watched as Aiden and Keegan took off towards the rogues, the two of them fighting off several each as more and more seemed to appear. I ran in the direction of the hall, where was help? Certainly, Ronan’s patrol would have alerted him to the rogues by now? I didn’t make it far before a large wolf stepped out in front of me, almost like he had been waiting for me. He was large, dark grey fur. A rogue Beta? That didn’t make sense. He began to circle me; I noticed several other wolves started to appear around me. There were now 13 in total. Most of them warriors, this wasn’t right. Somebody had set this up. I thought about linking Damien or Aiden, but they were already fighting a mass of rogues and I didn’t want to distract them and get them hurt. I had to shift; I didn’t have a choice; I was going to have to fight. As soon as the lead wolf made his lunge for me, I rolled out of the way and shifted springing up on my four paws. I could sense their hesitation as they suddenly took in my wolfs form. I could feel them mind linking one another. I tried to listen in and was overwhelmed with a flood of chatter. “This is the one?” “Are you sure?” “Wait, we can’t kill her” “We have orders” There were several others that I couldn’t make out with all the messages at once. I heard more chatter and saw the uncertainty in their steps. Finally, the Beta made another move for me, and they all shortly followed suit. One jumped on my back digging their claws into my ribs, another bit at my back leg, I tried my best to focus on the Beta who was intent on going for my throat. He made a lunge for me, and I head butted him hard, knocking him over on his side buying myself just enough time to grab the back of the neck of the wolf on my back and ripping him off, I threw him in front of me and instantly sunk my teeth into his throat and ripped my head up in time to see two more wolves coming at me from the front. I kicked myself back and kicked off the wolf who had a hold of my leg tearing the skin. I dodged one and grabbed the other sinking my claws into the soft of their belly and tearing my paw all the way back killing that one. What felt like a long time in reality was probably only a few minutes, but I made quick work taking the rogues down one at a time while trying to avoid any serious injury. It was now down to me and the Beta, he lunged at me again, but I knew his tactic by now and actually lowered my body so instead of meeting me up in the air, I turned myself on my back catching the underside of his throat with my sharp claws and tearing his throat out, he landed shortly behind me with a thud. I stood up surrounded by the dead rogues to find Alpha Ronan, along with a few of the other Alphas watching me. My wolf growled at him, somehow knowing he was behind all of this. Alpha Leo and another Alpha quickly ran over to me asking if I was ok, and if there were any more rogues and where they went; I couldn’t exactly answer them in my wolf form but at least they seemed genuine. I nodded towards the parking lot, they both called for their guards to come help and several men took off towards the direction I pointed them in; unlike Alpha Ronan who still stood back just starring at my wolf, I saw what looked like a smile flash across his face before it was gone again. “Camille!” I heard Damien call I turned to see Aiden, Keegan, Damien and Ian all running towards me wearing some shorts and tops someone must have given them. Once they arrived, they all paused, taking in the scene of all the death rogues around me before making their way in front of me. Damien took his t-shirt off and they stood in front of me trying to create a wall from all the wondering eyes that keep pouring out of the hall. “It’s ok baby girl, go ahead and shift.” I shifted back and quickly Damien helped me with the t-shirt. I cried out as I went to raise my arms up now feeling the gashes in the side of my ribs. “She has several deep gashes. We need to get her to the hospital.” Aiden said “I’m ok” I managed to say, trying to reassure them. I look up between my mates to see Alpha Ronan now standing in front of us. “Luna are you alright?!” He tried to act concerned, “I can assure you that I have no idea how those rogues made it this far past the border! If only we arrived sooner, we could have hel. .” He didn’t get a change to get another word in as Damien punched him so hard in the jaw that I swear I heard it break. He fell backwards onto the ground with a hard thud. “My mate could have died tonight because of your incompetence. I advise you to stay down on the ground until you are out of my sight. Consider this our official notice, any and all contracts we hold with Silver Creek are officially terminated.” “Keegan, get everyone to the buses. We leave immediately!” Aiden ordered Keegan right away sent a mind link to all members in attendance and ordered everyone to the buses. Alpha Leo and a few of the others were following suit. “I’ll see to it that everyone gets home.” Keegan said. “Good. Let’s go.” “Alphas at least have my pack doctor take a look at your mate’s wounds” Ronan said from the ground holding his jaw “We will not spend another minute here, let’s go.” Damien said without even looking at Ronan. Aiden carefully picked me up bridal style and we made our way to his car. Ian climbed in the back and Aiden gently handed me over to him before getting in the driver’s seat. Damien soon followed and climbed into the back seat next to me. It wasn’t long before we were back on the road heading home. “Hold still baby girl, I’m just going to take a look.” I could hear his voice tremble with worry. “My Goddess you’re covered in blood. Let’s see if we can at least stop the bleeding until we can get you to Dr. Williams.” “Most of it isn’t mine” I say as I try to sit myself up right. Damien then looks at the gash along my calf, “Well it’s starting to heal but it’s still bleeding.” “Here” Ian said before he carefully repositioned me forward slightly so he could pull off the tank top he was wearing handing it over to Damien. He tore a piece of the cloth and tightly wrapped it around my leg knotting it tight against the gash to apply pressure and help stop the bleeding. Looking over the rest of my legs, there was nothing to serious, mostly it was rogue blood. He lifted up the shirt I was wearing and inspected the deep gash on my ribs. “This one is pretty deep.” He tore another piece of cloth and pushed it against the gash making me cry out in pain. “I’m so sorry baby but he needs to stop the bleeding. Just breathe.” “I know but it really hurts.” Ian guided my head into his neck and stroked the back of my head, his scent and the touch helped soothe the pain as my tears fell into this neck. Ian leaned me forward and found another deep gash just under my shoulder blade, Damien handed him some cloth and he applied pressure to that site as well. Damien found several more gashes but nothing to serious. A few breaks but overall, I was lucky. I finally was able to calm myself down and the pain was now tolerable for the most part. For the first time I truly looked at Damien, he also was splattered with blood. I reached my hand out to cup his cheek. “Are you ok? Are you hurt?” I asked now inspecting his face and his torso. I saw a few small bleeding cuts but nothing opening and bleeding. “I’m ok baby girl.” He said giving me a reassuring smile I looked up at Ian, he also was covered in quite a bit of blood. I started to run my hands over his face and chest. “I’m fine too” he said as he nuzzled the side of my face. “Aiden?” I asked straining to sit up so I could see him better. “I’m ok princess. It’s you I’m worried about.” “Huh, well damn” I exclaimed “I guess I have a lot more training to do, must not be as good of a fighter as I thought.” “Baby girl, how can you even say that?” “You took down 13 trained rogues by yourself and all at the same time!” Ian added “Princess, there are Alpha’s that would struggle to survive that fight.” Aiden said also chiming in “There’s a reason Alpha’s keep a Beta who is loyal and trustworthy, because in a fight, you watch each other’s back and you work together as a team. What you did tonight was straight up incredible, I think you are more of a fighter than what you are giving yourself credit for.” Damien said giving me smile “I didn’t want to leave Aiden when I saw the rogues but then Keegan’s wolf just appeared out of nowhere beside him.” “Keegan is an excellent Beta, he sensed that I needed him even before I called for him. Like Damien said, he always has my back.” Aiden stated proud of his Beta. “I’m just sorry that we weren’t there to help protect you baby girl. Please forgive us?” Damien said pleading “The whole thing was planned out by someone; there was nothing you guys could have done.” “We figured as much, when we reached the woods, it was obvious that someone had let them onto the grounds and told them exactly what to do and where to go. They must know about you and have thought the rogues would be able to take you.” Damien said “Yeah, but something didn’t make sense to me at first but now I think I understand it.” I said as I was finally putting the pieces together trying to remember what all I was hearing from the rogues. “What do you mean baby?” “Well, that rogue Beta was waiting for me. He knew exactly who I was. I think whoever planned this out, knew the only way to get me alone would be to distract you guys by having you think someone was in trouble or sending rogues to attack you first.” I paused unsure if my theory was going to sound as crazy to them as it did to me. “Go on” they encouraged. “But once I shifted, and they saw my wolf they all hesitated, and I could hear them talking to each other.” “Wait, you could hear what they were saying?” Ian asked “Our mate is special; you know this, try to keep up.” Damien quickly threw at him, “Go on” “They didn’t have orders to kidnap me, they had orders to kill me, but whoever told them about me didn’t mention anything to them about my wolf or my abilities. They were all surprised to see my white wolf and my tattoo. Some of them didn’t want to kill me but they had orders.” “What are you saying?” Aiden asks “I think someone wanted me to kill them, and they chose that spot because it had a good viewing area or something like that one of them said. I think whoever set this up was watching me from somewhere. They wanted to see if the rumors about me were true. I know that sounds crazy.” “Actually, it doesn’t. I think you might be right.” Ian said “I’m pretty sure at least Ronan and Stratton are in on it together.” Damien said “Keegan just informed me that everyone is safe and accounted for and that they are on their way back.” Aiden said as he received the mind link. “Good. Tomorrow we’ll figure out a plan but tonight let’s just get Camille home.” Unknown She was perfect, no – she was more than perfect! She was everything that he said she would be. I didn’t truly believe it until I had witnessed it for myself. I found myself getting turned on watching her fight those filthy rogues. Unfortunately, it was over to soon. Uh, and here come her mates to swoop in and take her home. “Don’t worry, I’ll be seeing you again real soon my sweet Camille.”
