The Plan

Ian               We all made our way into the office, greeting Arlene before heading towards the elevator. I got off on the 4th floor, leaving the three of them to go up the 5th floor. I needed to talk with Keegan and there were a few things I wanted to take care of before I joined them upstairs.               I still had a few old connections that I used to know who ran in the underground trade. I wanted to put out some calls and see if anyone had any information on Stratton or Ronan or had heard any whispers of a white wolf circulating.                I walked in and saw Keegan at his desk, looking at something at his computer. “Hey, how is the Luna doing? She looked pretty banged up?” “She’s got a few deep cuts and some stitches but she’s a tough one that’s for damn sure.” “I’ll say, that was pretty damn impressive. Hey, have you by chance seen the . . . woah! What is that?!” Keegan said jumping out of this chair heading straight for me. “You found your mate?!” he asked excitedly               Oh s**t, I had completely forgotten about that. “Uh yeah I did, at the ball last night.” “Who is she?” He was bouncing up and down like a schoolboy. “Well, ah, she’s from another pack, things got heated pretty fast before we had a chance to do a lot of talking.” “What’s her name? I want to know everything about the women who locked down Ian, infamous bachelor! We need to celebrate!” He went over and grabbed two glasses of bourbon and handed me one before waiting for me to continue Hell, I really didn’t think this through. “Natalia, she’s from one of the northern packs. We really didn’t get a chance to talk much before the rogues happened.” Technically Natalia was the name of my mate’s wolf, so it wasn’t a complete lie. “Damn, talk about poor timing. Well, I guess you should be thankful she decided to mark you already before she found out just how much an asshole you can be.” He said laughing “She’s stuck with you now!” “Jerk” “In all seriousness, I’m happy for you man. It’s a wonderful feeling finding your mate. I’m sure you two will figure everything else out soon enough. Kate and I can’t wait to meet her.” “Thanks man, I appreciate it.” We clinked our glasses before downing the rest of the amber liquid and returned to work. Keegan left shortly after to go check on a few things in town, I guess some young kids have been causing a stir with a few business owners.               An hour later, I got a link from Damien saying that they had thought of a plan and asked me to come up.               I walked into their office and saw them all over in the sitting area looking at something on the table. I head over and take a seat on the couch next to Damien. “So, we thought we had a plan but it turns out Camille actually has a better one” Aiden said “Why doesn’t that surprise me?” I said with a smile, I reached out for her and carefully pulled her down on to my lap. I still was getting used to being affection with her in front of my Alpha’s. “Tell him your plan baby girl” Damien said encouraging her to continue “Alright, so we were looking at the map of all of the territories in the area looking for the best way to attack or defend against Silver Creek.”               She pointed at the map, and right away could see the outline of our pack, which was the largest, and then Silver Creek which was the next largest outlined on the map. There were several other smaller packs outlined as well.  “While Silver Creek is not as big, they still are the next strongest enemy as far as warriors and resources; but my thought was that we focus on the smaller surrounding packs first.” She points to several smaller packs that border or surround Silver Creek. “If we can reach all of these packs and make them our allies, we can essentially cut off Silver Creek from every border, vastly outnumbering them and hopefully prevent a war before one can start. We already know that we have Alpha Owen and the Black Water pack with us, we just need the rest.”               I couldn’t help but gently hug her into my chest. “You are incredible baby; I think that’s a brilliant idea.” “I’m thinking we should start with Alpha Leo of Blue Mountain. I talked with him briefly at the ball, he seemed like a good Alpha and the Moon Goddess seemed to approve of him.” She said pointing to his small pack “I agree, I have always gotten along with the man, but I know he does most of his business with Silver Creek, It might be hard to convince him to now go against them.” Aiden said “Leave that to me” Camille suddenly said, leaving us all to stare at her. “I’m not going to challenge him if that is what you all are worried about, but I need you guys to trust me on this, can you do that for me?” “Of course, we trust you baby girl. I’m thinking if we are going to go to Blue Mountain pack, we need to be quick about it, same for the rest of these packs. Word travels fast and I don’t what Ronan figuring out what we’re doing, making him force whatever it is he has planned.” “I think we should leave tomorrow morning early; we could make it to Blue Mountain by early afternoon and then if we take two days, we can go east and hit Red River, and then Fallen Leaf before coming back home. That would secure the whole northern side of Silver Creek.” Aiden added “Great, so we have a plan, but what if some of the packs don’t want to side with us? What then?” “Then I take their title and appoint a new alpha, one who will.” Camille said very matter of fact “You guys heard the Moon Goddess; she will help keep me safe and so will Maddox; that is why we are all here.” She said as she looked up at me with her big, beautiful eyes.               I couldn’t help but let out a big sigh. “I know baby, but it doesn’t mean that you still don’t risk getting yourself hurt. Let’s just hope it doesn’t come to that.” “I’ll call Alpha Leo in the morning and let him know to expect us. I’ll talk with Keegan and Lucas and make arrangements for the next few days.” Aiden said
