Blue Mountain Pack

I woke up to Aiden gently caressing my cheek. “You need to get up, we need to be leaving soon.” I glanced at the clock, 4:45am. “I’m up.” I quickly but quietly got out of bed and changed into some comfortable clothes and grabbed my overnight bag that I had already packed. After finishing my hair and brushing my teeth, I went over and sat down next to Ian. “Hey” I said as I carefully ran my fingers along the side of his face, causing him to stir. He finally opened his beautiful brown eyes to look at me, “Good morning”. “Good morning, how are you feeling?” “I’d feel much better having you beside me.” For the first time, I regretted going. Aiden and Damien had always been right by my side every time I was injured, helping my body to heal through the mate bond and here Ian was, hurt because of me and I was just going to leave him for two days when he needed me the most. “I’m so sorry, I should be here with you.” I couldn’t stop my eyes from watering up, “I’m going to stay.” Ian groaned as he tried to sit up so he could better look at me “Baby please don’t cry,” he placed his hands on my face and wiped at my tears. “I will be fine, I promise. You need to go. Plus. . . . . just think of all the ways you can make it up to me when you get back!” I couldn’t help but laugh a little through my sadness. “Go baby, I promise that I will be just fine. I’ll see you tomorrow night, ok?” “I love you Ian.” * * * * * The drive to the Blue Mountains pack was long but beautiful. It was named as such because their pack is higher up on the side of the bordering mountain. There are certain advantages to being higher up in the elevation with the cold. They also have a clear trade route to the packs on the other side of the mountain. Arriving here reminded me of my own pack back home. It was smaller, the homes and buildings were nothing elaborate, just functional. We followed the main road all the way back until we reached what I am guessing is their office building. We parked and as we were getting out, I recognized Alpha Leo coming out with a woman to greet us. “Welcome! We are so glad to have you all here for a visit. Alpha Aiden, Alpha Damien, Luna Camille it is a pleasure to see you all again. Let me introduce you all to my Luna and mate, Gabriella.” “It’s wonderful to meet you, Luna Gabriella.” We all said greeting her. “It’s a pleasure to meet you all as well, although I must admit I’m curious as to why the three of you would personally decide to visit us under such short notice.” She was friendly, but worried for her mate, and even though her sweater gave nothing away I could see her rubbing her belly anxiously. “Darling, no need to be so to the point. I’m sure they would like to come inside and sit down and warm up a bit first.” “I’m afraid we couldn’t be very forthcoming over the phone, but if we could just come inside and talk, I’m sure I can explain everything.” Aiden said We stepped inside their office building which looked like it at one time was a home, that was repurposed. Leo introduced us to his Beta Silco, who was waiting for us inside, he seemed like a decent man, loyal to his pack. Gabriella made us all some tea and after gathering around in the sitting area Aiden started by bringing up the recent attack at Silver Creek. “Such a horrible incident! I was thankful that no one was killed.” Alpha Leo commented “Well, that’s the thing. It wasn’t just a random attack. It was planned.” Aiden continued They all looked genuinely surprised. “Who would do such a thing?” his Beta asked “We think that Ronan is working with Stratton, and possibly others.” Damien said “Why would they plan an attack on their own pack?” Alpha Leo asked “They are after our mate, Camille.” “I’m afraid I don’t understand?” Gabriella stated, “Why are they after your mate?” Over the next ten minutes, Damien and Aiden explained to them who I was and my connection to the Moon Goddess. They told them about my power and strength in battle and that Alpha Ronan, they believe, wants me for his own. It was hard to gage their reaction on whether or not they fully believed me. Luna Gabriella looked skeptical, she turned and asked her mate if he believed what we were telling them. Alpha Leo, thought for a few moments and then speaking to his wife and beta, he finally spoke. Looking at me, “So you were the white wolf that I saw outside the hall?” “Yes” “I believe what you are telling me. I have never seen a white wolf before, let alone one of your stature.” He turned towards his mate now speaking to her, “She’s the wolf who took down all those rogues by herself.” I could see his mate looking at me and now truly taking in my small human form having difficulty understanding. “Even if we believe that you are who you say you are, what do you want with us? We have nothing to offer you?” “We are here because of what we can offer you” Damien spoke, now having them intrigued. For the next two hours, Aiden and Damien talked about the business that Blue Mountain did with Silver Creek and offered them even better trade deals, in exchange for two things: declare allies with Blood Moon and in exchange, Blood Moon would share their resources and their knowledge, and second, that they would no longer do any negotiations with Alpha Ronan. “It seems that we are getting the better end of the deal, so my question is why? It is because you know how high the cost is for going against him? I cannot put my pack in harm’s way, and we wouldn't stand a chance against Silver Creek Warriors.” I knew that they would be afraid of retaliation from Silver Creek if they pulled out of all deals, but Damien was prepared for that too. I stood and walked over to stare out the back window, it was a beautiful sight. “We will send 50 warriors to help guard your territory as well as train your warriors to better protect themselves and your pack, but Alpha Ronan will have bigger things to worry about soon than trying to come after your pack, but as our ally, you would have the entire support of Blood Moons warriors at your ready.” “Why? Why go through all of this for us?” Aiden and Damien both silently looked over at me before looking back at Leo “What wouldn’t you do for your mate?” Alpha Leo, looked over at his mate and his face softened. “I will agree to all that you ask, I just want to keep my family and my people safe. We are not trained fighters; we live simple and humble lives. I’m afraid if our pack was under attack, many of us would not see dawn.” I could see uncertainly in his face, it was true, Alpha Leo did not look much like a fighter, but he loved his people. “Alpha Leo, Beta Silco, may I?” They looked at me confused but nodded. “Would you please join me out back?” Everyone, even Aiden and Damien got up and followed everyone outside, curious as to what I was doing. Once we were all out back, I could feel the Moon Goddess’s presence within me. “Alpha Leo, Beta Silco, would you please shift for me?” They looked at each other as well as to Damien and Aiden, who both just shrugged their shoulders signaling they also had no idea what was going on. After a few moments, they began to undress, and both shifted into their wolves. Leo’s wolf had a beautiful black coat, but his wolf was smaller than most Alpha’s. I walked over to him and placed my hands on both sides of his wolfs face, just like I had done in the clearing with Owen Stark. I could sense his mate watching me uneasy. I closed my eyes and let the magic of the Moon Goddess work through me. My body began to glow, flowing the light around me and down my arms and into Alpha Leo, in front of our eyes his wolf grew in height, the muscles of his wolf were more defined, stronger than they had ever been. A patch of white fur in the shape of the crescent moon next to his right eye appeared. After a moment I let go. “Alpha Leo, do you trust your Beta to remain true and Loyal to you and to your pack?” His wolf nodded his ‘yes’. I stepped over towards Beta Silco, and after repeating the same process, I granted his wolf the same characteristics that I did their Alpha. His fur turned to a darker grey coat, his height and build now matched that of an Alpha’s. Once I was done, I removed my hands from his wolfs face and stepped back, feeling slightly exhausted. “You may now shift back” They shifted back and both gasped as their physical appearances had also changed. They quickly dressed but noted how their clothes were now to tight and small for their stature. Leo then looked at me and bowed his head, a deep sign of respect that Alpha’s rarely give to one another, Silco was quick to follow suit. “Thank you, my Luna.” “The Moon Goddess has gifted you with the strength needed to protect your people, she smiles down on you and your family Alpha Leo, your people will be safe.” I gave him a small smile before I paused, feeling the Moon Goddess still had another gift to give. “Speaking of family, may I?” I said now gesturing towards Luna Gabriella, she looked slightly frightened but glanced between her mate and Beta before looking back at me, she looked into my eyes for a moment before she nodded her approval. I walked over to her and placed my hands on her belly, there was barely a bump, but it was there. My hands began to glow, letting the light flow onto her belly. Once I was done, I stepped back, allowing Alpha Leo to come to her side. “Your son will grow up to be a strong Alpha, he will make you and your pack proud.” I could see Gabrielle hold onto her belly and she cried out tears, her sobs were soon joined by that of Alpha Leo. “What is going on?” Aiden asked I was about to answer when Alpha Leo turned and spoke first. “My mate and I have been unable to have a pup, every pregnancy has resulted in a miscarriage before her belly can truly grow. We have tried for so long, we almost gave up hope, neither one of us could stand going through the grief of losing another pup.” “Is this real?” Gabriella’s voice audibly shaken up asks as she clings to her belly I walk over to her and place my hand on the side of her face, “Yes, this is real. You will have a son.” I can’t explain what happened the next few seconds as my hand laid on her cheek, but flashes of a strong young Alpha walking through their pack lands flashed into our minds. He looked like the perfect mix of a young Leo and Gabriella. “I can see him! He’s real!” She cried out, “Thank you! Thank you!” * * * * * “Are you sure that you guys can’t stay for dinner?” Alpha Leo calls as we are getting back into Aiden’s SUV. “I appreciate the offer, but we really must be getting back on the road. We are going to try to make it to Red River Pack this evening and Fallen Leaf Pack tomorrow before heading back home.” “You are welcome anytime! My family and I owe you everything.” He then looked to me, “My Luna” he said with a bow before stepping back as him and his mate bid us goodbye. After we leave Blue Mountain Pack lands, Damien turns to look at me. “How did you know about the baby? Did you really see him?” “Well, when you guys were studying trade deals between the packs, I was researching the Alpha’s themselves and their mates. I knew all her pregnancies resulted in miscarriages and when I looked at her, I don’t know how to explain it, I just knew what I needed to do. As for seeing what I believe to be their future son as a grown Alpha, that one was new to me too.” I couldn’t help but yawn. “I’m sure whatever you did, took its toll. Why don’t you lean against me and get some rest, I’ll wake you when we're almost there.” Damien said as he looked down at me.
