She rides her scooter, arrives at her home, and open the door with her keys only to see lights on.
"Ma, you are early today!" she exclaimed as she saw her mother preparing dinner.
" Oh! I am not early miss you are late look at the time its 8 pm already" Sunita was amused to see her daughter who always took notice of time to be late.
" Why are you late I thought you have morning class today so what did you do till now?" she wriggles her eyebrows questionably at Aastha even teasing her "Oh I know ..... I know you have a boyfriend right...right."
Aastha was amused by her mother's behaviour and was about to explain " Ma its...." but was cut off by Sunita.
" How is he huh? Is he handsome? Is he your classmate? or senior? Oh! Is he your junior? so that's why you don't say anything to mother because of prejudice towards dating a younger man. Don't worry Ma will support you" Sunita ramble on and on without giving any chance to Aastha to cut off her.
"So tell me who is he, I will talk to his parents and we will talk about your marri..."
" Wow, Ma wait hold your unreasonable thoughts. I don't have any boyfriend I..." she stops her mother when her mother was planning her marriage with non- existent boyfriend. She was about to tell her the reason for being late when she was again cut off in the middle by her mother again.
" But why don't have a boyfriend," Sunita asked her with a sad face as if she was really sad cause she didn't believe her punctual daughter will be late without reasons. So Sunita thought ' she must have a boyfriend'
Aastha has just opened her mouth "I......" to answer she was again cut off.
" So tell me why are you late then," Sunita asked looking smugly while wiggling her eyebrows " huh huh answer me then haha answer me, sweety ". Aastha was frustrated and irritated with her mother's antics.
" Ma!" Aastha exclaimed looking angry. " If you give me chance to speak then I will tell you everything but you just have to cut me off whenever I try to speak. So if you don't mind may I speak "Aastha pouted in frustration as she complain.
Sunita smiled sheepishly at her realizing her mistake.
She was so engrossed in questioning Aastha that she didn't even give her a chance to speak.
Sunita composed herself and look at her daughter urging her to tell the reason behind her being late" Tell me why are you late?"
"I was late because of this... " Aastha open her bag and hand her mother document.
Sunita took the document and start reading, her face was calm but a change of emotion can be seen in her eyes. She looks up to see her daughter " you.....you...." she tries to say something but she just couldn't bring her to ask her. Sunita was surprised at her daughter quick action and don't know how to express her thoughts properly.
But Aastha understands what her mother was trying to say so she confirmed Sunita's suspicion by nodding her head before calmly saying " Yes, I bought the company".
When Sunita heard it she jumps off the sofa smiling " congrats my dear. You finally did it. hahaha......"
Sunita was laughing heartily as she was truly happy and proud of her daughter. From this, she could see how serious her daughter was about her dreams.
Aastha tells her mother everything she has experience today in the company without leaving any details including a misunderstanding of the PR manager about her character, Sunita was fuming and wants to punch the PR manager but Aastha held her and coaxed her " it was just a misunderstanding Ma so I just gave him a warning but if its repeat you are free to punch him ok, so please sit down."
" But I will surely teach him a lesson when I go to Company later" Sunita exclaimed angrily. How could someone dare to question her upbringing?
Her daughter would never become someone's sugar baby if possible she could become someone's sugar mama!
Aastha knew being a single mother is hard for her mother as whenever Aastha makes mistakes not only her character will be questioned but also her mother's character and teaching will be questioned.
Her mother will have to bear the consequences of her mistakes. She knew her mother and her late father work hard to save the money that's why she was able to start her own business. So she will do her best and won't care whatever they say about her but she won't tolerate if anybody touches her bottom line. For her, Sunita existence was like a sun that radiates her life and if she ever lost this sun then she would be forever in darkness like in her dream.
In life, parents love for you either make you or break you.
Thinking just how her mother worked hard to bring her up and to make her who she is now, Aastha smiles at her mother and shakes her head at her mother's protectiveness towards her before saying " Ok. so now let's eat dinner".
