As we both reached our apartment, I quickly lay on the couch.
“Today is so stressful,” I said, noticing George staring at me looking upset.
“What’s with that long face, honey?” I teased him as he chuckled.
“You are not serious. By the way, who was that guy I saw you with at the company? He asked acting all serious.”
I couldn't help but pinch his cheek. He looks more charming as his looks serious.
“Ouch! What was that for?” he shouted, holding his cheek as if he was in so much pain.
I chuckled after seeing his face with that reaction.
“Huh? What did I do?” I said, laughing and making a fool of myself right in front of him.
“You haven’t answered my question, you know,” he said again.
When he repeated it, I knew he was actually serious.
“He is the owner of the company where I’m currently working. So… he’s my boss. He’s so rude, and I don’t like him at all,” I said sharply.
Yes, I don’t like him. He's rude, arrogant and has so much pride. Although am not close enough to him to know him well, but with our few interaction i could see those traits. Well don’t really blame him. If he wasn’t my boss, I would’ve talked sense into his f*****g head,” I said as I rolled my eyes and remembered the statements he made about me not wanting my job any longer, argh, so annoying.
I looked up and found George staring at me intensively. I think he wants me to chat him about how my day went so I told him everything that happened today at the company.
“Seems like you've started making new friends. I'm really jealous,” he said as I slapped his shoulder playfully.
“Though I've started making new friends, it's true. But I will never neglect you. You're my bestie, so don't worry. No one would ever take your place in my heart, okay?” I said, as he chuckled and nodded his head like a child whole had just been comforted by his mother. I couldn't help but laugh softly at his childish behavior.
We chatted with each other for some time before I slept off on the couch, resting my head on his shoulder while he was telling me about his day at work. Not that it wasn’t interesting, but I just felt tired. I had to sleep.
After talking for a while and not getting any reply, he looked at my face and sighed. He then carried me to the bed, covered me up, and pecked me on the forehead before leaving my apartment.
*Raymond's POV*
Actually, I'm Raymond Brian and right now I just got back from my father's mansion. I’m sure you’re wondering who we are. The Brian family is not just the top richest family, but also an influential one.
No doubt, we are all handsome. I have two sisters — twins , a step brother and a step mother whom my dad got married three years after my mom died. It’s very painful to remember because it was one of the most painful things that ever happened to me.
She died 10 years ago when i just graduated from college leaving just me and my two sisters, julie Brian and Joan Brian.
Ken brian, my step brother and I are almost the same age, only that I'm older than him by just a few months. Ever since my dad got married to his mom, we never got along and every time he tried to get along with me, I always found a reason to make us quarrel. Why? Because I don’t like him at all. It’s as if he took my place in my father’s heart. But it’s not really like that. I just used that as an excuse to hate him.
Why? I don’t know.
We were all seated at the dining table, waiting for dinner.
“Son, don’t you think it’s time to get married?” my dad said, as Joanne giggled beside me.
And to confess that really annoyed me right now. Actually, I’m really a short-tempered person, so when anger comes, I lose it easily.
“I’m just 30 years, Dad,” I said, not really interested in the discussion.
Actually, if I had known this was the reason he called us, I wouldn’t have come. I have better things to do than sit here getting lectures marriage.
I really love being single. Why? Because I can't see myself dedicated to one woman. Impossible.
I doubt if I’ll ever love one woman. Because to me, it’s like wearing the same clothes every day.
“You’re just 30 years — so what? Nevertheless, I have someone in mind for you. She’s gorgeous, beautiful, and very respectful. Actually, she’s my friend’s daughter,” my dad said as ken I chuckle lightly. Oh, this guy… I must confess, I hate when he smiles. I don’t just understand what's with these hatred of a thing, but I don’t like his smile at all — not at all.
Then maybe I can use her for a day. But marriage? I’m not ready for that.
“You’re not always ready .Just marry her, and maybe later in the marriage, you will find love,” my dad said.
And this really triggered my anger.
“Why don’t you marry her yourself, Dad? Marriage, marriage, marriage — that’s all you talk about to your son! Can’t you wait until after dinner? All you say is, ‘Marry and you’ll find love.’ I don’t believe such, Dad. Why is it only me? Ken is here. Why don’t you tell him to marry?
“You always keep disturbing me and troubling me about marriage. Am I the only one yet to get married ” I said angrily as I stood and left the dining room, with my sisters running after me.
I know I shouldn’t have talked to him like that, but he really needs to understand that I’m not ready for marriage — and I can never be committed to it. I can’t. I can’t love, big brother. But you don’t have to talk to your father like that. You know Dad just wants what’s best for you, brother,” Joan said, while Julie was by my side, interlocking our hands together.
I sighed.
Really, I do regret leaving the mansion like that. My dad is getting old and has been through a lot. I really should have calmed down and explained things to him — but I’m really not that type of person anymore. I’m a totally different person. I don’t have patience.
"I really didn’t mean to walk out on him or speak to him like that, but he always brings up the marriage topic again and again, and it always angers me." I said i really didn't mean to.
“You know Dad is getting old. He just wants to see his grandchildren, so you don’t have to totally blame him. I guess it’s old age,” Joan joked, as we all chuckled.
“Alright, big brother, we should go inside. I know you’d never come back even if I asked you to, so… bye. We’ll come to your company tomorrow and we’ll all hang out, okay?” Joan and Julie said as I chuckled.
“I won’t be at the company tomorrow,” I said. It wasn’t completely a lie — Vic invited me for a party tomorrow evening, so I have to be there to refresh myself. There’ll be a lot of girls.
“Okay then, we will follow you. Actually, it’s been long since we went to a party, right Joan?” Julie said as they both giggled.
Ha! They’re so adorable.
“Alright, meet me at the mansion, okay?” I said, as they both pecked me on my cheeks and ran into the mansion.
I, also went into my car, and my driver drove me straight to my mansion.
“Ha! Home, here I come.” i mumbled under my breath.
I really need someone who will pleasure me tonight, should I called Reed.
Actually, his name is Vincent, but I always love calling him, why?, I don't know.
Though we’ve been friends for so long, he is also single. That’s why we do all the partying and girl stuff together. And he always got a lot of girls. All you need to do is to place a call.
