Episode 4-The Truth

LUCIAN'S POV Jacobi had gotten the doctor to give me the cure and bandage me up, but mate hadn't healed so well, but even after the wedding she hadn't given up. She had somehow talked my brother into announcing they were not together and to release me. How? I have no f*****g clue but I was glad I was free of the cell and had been able to be with her. She'd woken up three days after the day Jacobi had r***d her. He had to call in a very forbidden witch to even get her wounds to turn to scars, but they hadn't healed further than that. He'd just handed us over to my dad and I now sat in the kitchen. Mother had instantly wanted a mate and had to get my father to help Nicholas, my brother and her betrothed, pry her free of my hold. Then, my mother had disappeared with her and left me in the dining room with my brother and father. I clench my jaw and fist as I wait impatiently. We'd been waiting for an hour now and my patience and temper were spiralling downward quickly. "So...what's the story?" Nicholas says. "What do you mean?" I half-growl. "With you and my fiancé?" "I took her away from here and kept her safe her whole life. Then, Jacobi found us." The pure deadly calm in the snarl of his name makes both of them look at me confused. "What happened with my lieutenant?" "It's none of your concern." "Young man," mother scolds walking in. "That is no way to speak to your elders nor your family." I see Josette behind her looking at me with teared-up eyes. I stand and she immediately throws herself into my arms. I hold her to me tight and nuzzle my face into her neck like I used to show her I'm there to comfort her. She hugs to me tightly and I hold her just as tight, but am careful of her now humanized body. "Okay, you two. That's enough," my father says. She turns on her heel and I can see the fury in her stance as she folds her arms over her chest and squares her shoulders. "With all due respect sir, I would like to be able to hug people without your opinions included. If you feel you have an issue with how or who or the length of time then I suggest you bite your tongue or I'll rip it out your head myself." They all stare shocked and I grab her hand to calm her down. She relaxes but still gives them death stares. "Calm down for me little one," I say in her ear and she sighs frustrated but does. "Young miss. I do not believe you were taught manners. Obviously, you aren't the nicest either. I would find it that you would respect me or else." "Or else what? You'll punish me? News flash, you have no clue how to hurt or torture me. Now if you don't mind shutting your mouth and keeping that serpent of hate you call a tongue in its cave, that would be appreciated. Believe me. I am not a lady in many ways and I'm not afraid to kill anyone who vexes me." He clenches his jaw and I can tell he's getting ready to punish her so I pull her to my side. "She means," I say. "That she is tired of running." "She needs to learn manners," my father says. "f**k you," she snarls and her eyes flash bright green. He stands and clenches his fist fast enough to knock the chair over. "You need to learn when to speak and how to speak to me," he growls and goes to slap her but she moves too fast. "Don't make a mistake. I will do as I please. You will not touch me. Now if you want to try to teach me a lesson then let's take it the training room. Then, I can kick your ass and show who is the one to be respected." "I don't fight girls." "Oh, sweetheart. I'm not fighting you. I'm challenging you for the throne. Everything you have. This kingdom, the throne, and Lucian." They stare shocked as he nods and she smirks. "No," I tell her as she leads the way toward the Challenge Ring, a literal pit of rock and sand outside the palace. "I've seen him fight. He'll kill you. You'll fight to the death. He's too strong. Please." She turns to me as the coliseum around it fills up and mother and Nicholas sit in the dais with the Elders.
