Book I, Chapter 25

Next, the woman removed the plug of her Apple MacBook and her phone charger. She carried her laptop, laptop charger, phone and phone charger. She didn’t know how to turn off the living room light. So she left that on. Then, she walked to his room. She plugged it back in there along with her charging her friend's phone as he slept. The woman was about to go back to sleep. Since then, she felt sleepy. But, as she was about to lay down to sleep; she heard the sound of a cat meowing. It was as if a cat was calling her. She opened her eyes right away. She noticed Daniel’s arm was around her. And she didn’t like being touched. Unless she asked for it.

She got off his bed.

She headed to where the cat’s meow was. She opened the door and she found a black cat staring at her. She couldn’t get mad at him. He was a cute little black cat. She closed the door. And she was heading to the bathroom. The black cat follows her around. She did her business. The black cat checked up on her. Since, the black cat felt something was wrong. The women couldn’t stay mad at the male cat. So, she lets him do whatever he wants. Then, she washes her hands and dries them with a white towel. She walks back to Daniel’s room. Since it was the only bed comfortable. Even though she didn’t want to touch him. Not after what he did in the back room of the store.

It seems he forgot there would be another investigation going on. They will be surprised about it. After that, the women cook food for Daniel. He told her to do it. Because he was hungry. And he was doing something else on his computer. It took her more than one hour. But she instructed him how to do it. And then it was 10:30 am. The woman went to her guy friend’s room. She’s supposed to do her job interview from Knix Wear. She was hoping she could get hired. She really wants to have three jobs. Since, she wants to keep her mind occupied. But she wants to earn enough money for her daughter. She waited. She checks her mail. It seems like she’s not hired to work in Knix wear. But she didn’t give up.

She had a lot of free time. However, she didn’t want to bother her friend. She’s on her phone playing games. Daniel got ready for work as always. She already got ready long before him. And then they headed to El Cerrito. She gave him a good luck kiss. As she was trying to relax, she felt uncomfortable for no reason. She raises her head up. She noticed he was too close to Carla. She took a picture of it. Just to use later on. She was on her phone playing games. Until she felt like she needed to use the bathroom. As always, Carla stayed quiet. She separates herself from Daniel. She was about to say something bad lto her without him looking. But she wasn’t able to. Because her boss came to work.

It was none other than Taylor. She tries not to frown. She couldn’t do anything about it. As for Taylor, he instantly saw HER. He walked casually as always. Daniel took notice of him. He watches what Taylor will do. He did the same gesture like he did last time. He gently tapped her shoulder. As she turned around slowly, he saw her frowning. He wanted to know why. He will talk to her privately. She masks her sadness with a smile. But he saw that too. He frowns too. He didn’t want her to feel sad.Her head rose up to see who it was. Her frown instantly changed to a smile. ‘ Hey Taylor! ‘ She excitedly greeted him. She could tell that he has her back.

He likes hearing her voice. He smiles. He walked towards her. He leans towards her to see what’s on her phone. He starts to frown when he sees Carla being too cozy with Daniel. Which wasn’t professional. He grabbed her phone. It was his way of teasing her. " Hey , give me back my phone please “. Rose says politely as she tries to reach for it. But she couldn’t. She was too short and he was tall. As for him, he looks through all the photos. The photos were of Daniel and Carla. The video was of Daniel and Carla being too cozy for his liking. He started to frown as he took a deep breath. The sound doesn’t seem good. Daniel was there wondering what’s going on. He saw his boss' expression change drastically. He had no clue what’s going on.

As for Taylor, he knew that the rating of the O’Reilly Auto Parts here at Moeser Shopping Center in El Cerrito is dropping. He didn’t want his store to close down even though it wasn’t his completely. He’s the district manager. But still he worries. He gave his cellphone number to Rose. Well more like he entered his information on her phone. And he did the same with hers. She didn’t stop him doing what he was doing. It would be rude to stop it. ‘ Taylor, can we discuss some things? ‘ This time it was Carla who spoke. As for Rose, she could tell what she was planning. There's an intense feeling in the air. Taylor looks at both Carla and his long time friend. ‘ If you want to say something then you can say it here ‘. Taylor said to her.

‘ But what if it’s business related to this store. Are you going to have this— ‘. Carla says to him. She was mad. She wanted to give false information about Daniel’s friend. She wanted her to get in trouble for no reason. But Rose saw it instantly. She saw Taylor about to yell at her. However; she stopped him before he could. Rose slowly places her hand on his arms. From the side glance, she saw Daniel frowning. She could also feel jealousy coming from him. She didn’t let go of Taylor’s arm. As she does this, Taylor calms down as he takes a deep breath. ‘ Carla was it? Please don’t be rude to a customer. This woman you say? She has a name. And if I were you should learn some respect towards this customer. She’s very special to me ‘. Taylor says to her.

There was a loud gasp coming from every direction. As always Issac came into work. Taylor turned around to face where it was. He knew it was Isaac. He saw Carla stay quiet. And Daniel clenching his fist. Taylor knew Daniel was mad. But he knew he couldn't do anything about it. ‘ What do you mean about that sir? ‘ This time Isaac spoke. Taylor turned his body to face him. ‘ It’s exactly what it meant. This Rose here is a very special person to me. So it would be great for all of you to be nice to her. So not giving her a bad attitude. She is more than that. Trust me on this Isaac ‘. Taylor says to everyone in the room including Isaac himself. Everyone stays quiet.

‘ As for you Carla, I got a report about you mistreating a customer. And giving her a bad attitude. I didn’t think you would do it without knowing who Rose really was ‘. Taylor says to her as he takes a deep breath when he shakes his head. Isaac and Daniel turn to face her. Now they both had a serious look. Rose knew her guy friend would defend Carla as always. But would he do that with his job on the line?
