THE GIRL BOOK I

Book I, Chapter 7

Her mind and heart was too much to handle. She didn’t want to have this kind of feeling. She’s broken. She’s tainted. She cannot trust anyone both male and female. Because; she lacks the trust of everyone. She tries to hold onto it. She remembers him telling her to wait for her. And that’s what she has been doing.

She tries her best to ignore the feelings that she had towards him. For her to do that; she has to be very mean to him. She has to say things she doesn’t mean to. Since, she’s a capricorn; she would easily be misunderstood. It was her plan. To have him hate her. That way, they won’t have time to fix it. She made time using her laptop and her phone. She tries to find jobs to hire her.

Her plan was to get three to four jobs. She wanted to earn enough money. She has three months left until her birthday. She wanted to plan everything perfectly. She didn’t want to overstay her welcome. She knew that the man didn’t want to live with him. He wasn’t happy when it happened two years ago. So, she tries to keep her distance from him. But, how can she?

She introduced astrology. She could tell that Scorpio and Capricorn are compatible. But, why does it appear that it’s not that easy? Why was it so easy for people to confess their undying love for the person they fell in love with? However; she couldn’t do it in person. She has to type how she felt towards him through text. She did. It was all past tense though. She told him that she once had feelings for him. It was already over. She had to try her best. Since then, she remembered what he told her. He wants to see other people. That’s what she has been doing.

Friday was another boring day. The woman was sleeping. She was dreaming. He thought she was talking to him. But, she wasn’t. He could see tears falling from her eyes. It fell. He wonders what she was dreaming about. He doesn’t know that she has to carry this burden all alone. She always does. But, he doesn’t know that. He thought this woman was strong. He likes strong women.

The women woke up. She stayed quiet. She grabbed her phone. She checks the time. She didn’t say anything. She uses her phone to play games like she always does. She acted like nothing happened. She didn’t ask him anything. Because; she knew she owed this man in front of her alot of money. How did you ask? The man asked her too. Or she told him that she would. He knew he had a job and money. And that she didn’t have money.

The man did his own hobbies. He tries too. While, the woman stays in his room. She continues to do more job hunting on the Indeed app or website. She has like two weeks in the month of September to find a job. She has two weeks to earn enough money. Since, the man didn’t want to leave her alone in his own place. Even though the house belongs to his guy best friend's parents’ house. He knew not to focus on her. It’s what she told him not to.

The woman didn’t want to introduce herself to anyone. It's not worth it all. Everyone comes and goes. It’s the truth. They come into her life. And they left out of her life. It’s a repeated cycle no matter what you do or say. She needs a lot of jobs so she could help her mom and brother. She knew that both of them, including herself, were poor in America. She didn’t want depression to eat her mother’s up. However; it did. She knew her mother needed help.

It was like this for the past two days. Which was during the weekend. The women had to wait until the man was done with work. She hates seeing that blonde-haired girl with him. The women could tell what that blonde hair girl was doing. She wasn’t a fool. It was easy for her to read anyone’s body language. The blonde hair woman tries her best to put distance between herself and him. Even though there was another man. But, he was different towards her. She couldn’t help the fact that she was young. And he was old. That didn’t stop her from feeling this way. However; she didn’t want to lose her job. Since, she wants to go to university for her education.

A Brand New Day

It was now Tuesday, September 19 2023. The woman didn’t go to her job interview in person. Even though it was located in Oakland. She lost all the motivation in her. She didn’t have her passport. since it expired. She lost her id card at O’Reilly Auto Parts at Moeser Shopping Center in El Cerrito. She remembered it. It has to be there. She remembered being the last place to see her id card that she had.

She doesn’t know if any employer would hire her. She doesn’t know if they would accept a picture of her id card on her phone. It cost thirty dollars to have a replacement card from the id. However; if she wanted to upgrade to a real id card. Then she needs all of her information. But, that was a problem. To her; she has no place to live. She didn’t want to go back to her abusive mother and brother.

She tries her best to make the man happy. The man took the clothes from the laundry. He places it on the bed. After a few minutes, the man was happy for a short amount. Since then, he has become sad again. The women set three alarm clocks. Because; she didn’t want the man to be late for work. After the women got her stuff ready. It was time for both of them to take a shower. She finished eating her two ice creams. It was the only thing to keep her mind and heart happy. Food makes her happy.

After the shower, the men and women got ready. The man went to the other room to change. The woman dresses herself up. She was wearing pants that fit her. The pants were the color of the trees. She was wearing a white slippers. The ones that her mother bought for her. She was wearing a pink push up bra. The kind that doesn’t have any wire on it. She was wearing a pink long sleeve collar shirt. The kinds that you button it up. So that you don’t show too much skin.

The man went to work after he dropped her off at the library in El Cerrito. The woman could tell that the man didn’t want her at his work. It was all for the blonde hair girl. His female coworker. He wants to get to know her better. But, why though? She would probably get him in trouble. The woman stays quiet. And the man wants to know what’s wrong. But, the woman stays quiet.

She took a deep breath. The only way to move on from him and her ex boyfriend from two years ago. She has no choice but to be how she was before meeting them at all. Like they don’t exist at all. She would have to become a cold heartless b***h. The kind where no one will not mess with her anymore. She thought it was a great idea.

It was now 3:55pm. The man came to El Cerrito Library. He sat next to her. He was always on his phone. She has no choice but to become a heartless b***h. A cold one. She uses her laptop like always. She connects her laptop with the library’s WiFi. She continues to write the stories that she had in mind. She had a feeling that he would come visit her. So there was no point in him asking her questions.

She pretends like she doesn’t care. It’s how she can hide her emotions. She heard a chair next to her move. She knew it was that man. He sat down next to her. He was trying to communicate with her. But for her; she can’t hear what he had to say. Why do you ask? Because; she felt deaf in her left ear. There’s something in her left ear. However, she doesn’t know. Maybe she has lots of wax in there.

She can’t do anything to her left ear. She can’t make her wax too deep into her ear. If it did, she would feel any ring touching through the side of her face. She left the library with the man. They went to buy food. They bought food from Popeyes. The man bought a family feast and two drinks. One drink for the women. For her drink, she got a strawberry lemonade. For her guy friend, he got a strawberry fanta soda. After the man ate his sandwich, one biscuit and half of his Mac & cheese; he went back to work.

He parked his truck at the Moeser Shopping Center. She gave the man a good luck kiss. It was supposed to give him the luck he needed at work. She was the only one who had mutual understanding with each other. He clocks back in for work. Because his new boss was there. As for the women, she stayed behind in the truck. She sat in the passenger seat. From where she was, she fell asleep. Since she felt relieved that they got a male boss. Someone who put them in their place. And making sure they don’t cross the line.
