The Heart Pearl
The Leviathan charged through the black water.
Its enormous body moved like a living storm, scattering sea dragons and sending towering waves crashing against the coral walls of Nerith.
The Heart Pearl glowed brighter, as though sensing the danger.
Its soft blue light reached toward the corrupted guardian.
For a brief moment...
The Leviathan slowed.
A deep, sorrowful cry echoed through the sea.
"It still remembers," the Tide Empress whispered.
"It remembers what it was created to protect."
"But the corruption is stronger," Cassiel replied.
"We have to reach its heart before the Hollow does."

The palace guards formed a defensive line around the Heart Pearl.
None of them expected to defeat the Leviathan.
They simply refused to abandon
