*Briony* I bundle up my damp clothes and stuff them into a saddlebag. Dawn had been clear and should fill me with joy, not despair. I had lain within Wade's arms, but he had somehow distanced himself from me. I'm not even certain he slept. He shakes out the blanket, lays it over the fire, then quickly flicks it back.
