chapter 8- The parents

Dravens pov

I've had an exceptional time here with Carina. Getting to know her is a blessing in all honesty. I mean what's not to like she's fierce, stubborn, ruthless and striking, but she also has a much kinder side one she doesn't let many see except her close friends and family. Which we still have yet to meet each others parents. Well she will only be meeting my mother and well her second chance mate after my father, whom she is meeting today we have to get up early and leave here in time so she can meet my parents and then tomorrow I meet hers.

"I'm all packed and ready let's go." Carina said. She looked so beautiful dressed up in her black dress and her black heels and she had her curly hair in a half up half down due. She is just breathtaking.

"Alright, then let's go." I say to her and I grab her bags while she talks to Rafael.

Carinas pov

I called Raf into my office.

"Boss" He says

"I need an update on the attack, have we found them yet, and has there been anymore attacks and has our informants said anything, I need updates before I go." I said, this has honestly been bugging me, like why attack and then vanish, it makes no sense unless they are planning something else.

"No, boss, nothing it's like they vanished into thin air." he said.

"Okay well for now have our hacker keep looking, while I'm gone bulk up security on all my businesses even my bogus warehouses, I don't care if you need to hire people who aren't in the mafia and not tell them s**t just tell them they are to make sure no intruders get in and to surveil all areas. Also don't let it be known I'm gone ill be back tomorrow night after Draven meets my parents." I said

"Got it boss." he said

"How do you feel meeting his parents and vice versa?" he asked.

"Honestly I'm nervous. For both scenarios. I mean yes my father isn't involved in the mafia and doesn't know I have my own but my other family is involved in their own mafias and my father is involved I wouldn't be surprised he calls upon them. And his parents are powerful they have supernatural and superior power. So yea for once in my life I'm nervous about something either I piss off his mother and she tries to kill me or my father gets too overprotective and calls all of Sicily and half the middle east here, so yea a lot to watch out for." I say out of breath.

"Well break a leg." he says and winks at me

"Better hope I don't cause ill detach it and stick it up your ass and have you get me a new leg." I said laughing.

I left my office and saw Draven waiting he wrapped his arms around me and kissed me.

"Ready beautiful" he said

"Let's get this show on the road, shall we " I said and we went to the car and he was driving us.

2 hours later

we are still in the car. I just woke up from a nap. God I hate car rides always make me sleepy.

"Morning beautiful" he says

"are we almost there." I said rubbing my eyes. I had crust on my eyes. Now you know you had a good ass nap when you have crust on your eyes.

"Yea, but before we get there I have to tell you something." He said.

"Okay, what is it."

"So you'll be meeting my mom and step father." he said. Step father?? I thought all wolves mate for life.

"Step father?? But I thought that wolves mate for..."

" Yes the mate bond is for life but you see my father betrayed our pack and tried to work with s*x traffickers and was helping them take Girls out of our pack and selling them and turning them into slaves for other pimps just so he could make extra money. Now me, my mother and the council was against this. And he did other things like experiment on other pack members he injected them with blood types from different species to see if their abilities would change. It was awful. And then one day he vanished. And my mother said their bond had severed and she found a second chance mate. Now those are rare but they do happen if you either get rejected or your partner dies. So we all just assumed he died because of that even though we never found a body we never looked either." He said.

"wow that's a lot. And I'm glad you don't mess with s*x trafficking. Otherwise I would have killed you. See I may be a criminal but I only deal in arms and maybe some m*******a but I'd never traffick people I do have morals and plus my ex was part of that stuff which was one of the reasons I killed him but I'll tell you more about that another time." I said

"Of course." he said and kissed my hand. And here we are pulling up to the pack house.

As we got out I saw people running and then this woman came out she had the same blue eyes as Draven and the same dark hair and cheek bones. This must be his mother, he is her exact copy. And she is beautiful. She is wearing a blue sundress and sandals and her hair is up in a ponytail. And the man I would suggest is his step father had broad shoulders and he was dark skinned with green eyes, tall and handsome jeez why are all werewolves so attractive, even his mom is making me question my sexuality. I hope I look as good as her when I reach her age. Not that she is old but she looks good for however old she is.

"Dravy bear." The lady says I couldn't help but giggle just a little. I was so going to tease him about that later.

"Hey mom, I missed you, how was your vacation in Hawaii." he asked.

"I missed you too baby, and it was great. Me and Trey had such a good time." she said

"Hello son, missed you how's work and managing the pack." Trey said

"Great, everything is great. except we had an attack recently but got everything under control at the business." Draven said. He looked over at me and gave me a look like he forgot to introduce me.

"Mom, Dad, this is my mate, Carina." He said. His mom looked over at me and her eyes widened.

"Oh my God, she is beautiful sweetie, the moon goddess truly blessed you. But she doesn't smell like a wolf, she is human. When will she transition Draven. You know you can't have a human Luna." She said

"Yes I know I'm blessed, but Carina is tough and a leader herself. Plus I have already told her I will not turn her until the mating ceremony plus I still have to meet her parents first and we have to do the announcement." He said

"A leader you say, What do you lead my dear. And yes!! That's right you have to formally court her and the like which I believe you've done already because she is meeting me now. Oh gosh I can't wait to have a daughter, I always wanted one but I have been blessed with 3 sons. 2 from Dravens father but you won't see his brother because he died last year in a fire, and 1 from Trey which you'll meet in a bit. I warn you though he is unmated and horny so beware." she said

"I am the leader of my own mafia and don't worry I only deal in guns and auctions no trafficking. And I have several businesses all over the world." I said and her eyes widened

"Wow, successful and ruthless I like it. How about we go inside and eat. Dinner is almost ready."

"I can eat." Draven and Trey said.

" Boys will be Boys always with a hungry stomach." Me and his mother laughed.

We sat at the dinner table. There was meatloaf, mashed potatoes with roasted garlic just the way I liked them, garlic bread and mixed vegetables. We sat in the big dining hall. Another boy came in he looked exactly like Draven but had green eyes and the same dark skin as his father this must be his brother.

"Where have you been Talon. And why are you filthy." So thats his name

"There were hunters on the border but me, Jayden and Ryland took care of them." He said with a smirk.

And then he looked over at me

"Draven, who is this fine lady, she is beautiful" I saw Draven narrowing his eyed at his brother. Talon then sniffed the Air "And she's unmated, why don't you pass her to me when you're done with her." He winked at me. Draven growled.

"Talon Jayden Raymond, You know better than to talk about a lady like that. Besides that's your brothers mate." His mother said.

He looked dumbfounded. "I'm sorry, I didn't know."

"No, you just assumed and next time you talk about me like I'm sloppy seconds ill cut off your balls and make you watch me blend them and then I'll shove the mixture down your throat. Got it" I said it and winked at him. His mother laughed at that. But his brother looked like he was going to s**t himself.

"Yes mam." he said

" No wonder your a leader you have that ruthlessness to you. And I love it, you will make an excellent Luna, who knows when to seperate feelings from duty and protectiveness." she said I nodded in approval

"Leader, what do you lead." his brother asked intrigued.

"I am Carina Romano, leader of Mano Romano." I said and his brother looked scared shitless

" I'm sorry but did you just say you were the leader of the most feared mafia in the world." He said

"yes, I am." I said

"Oh s**t, Draven you should have warned me." he said and Draven laughed

"Nahh figured you could have used the surprise especially when she handed your ass back to you." He said.

And after that we drank and I got to know his family more and they were great even his young brother who loved to taunt everyone.

I started yawning, and Draven noticed.

"Tired, Little mate." he said into my ear.

" No, I'm okay I want to stay and get to know your family more." I said and he nodded and smiled

soon after sleep took over me.

Dravens pov

I look back over to my mate who was sound asleep and I smile because she really wanted to stay and get to know my family which to me was beautiful.

"Draven you should bring her up to bed don't leave her down here." My mother said. She really liked her I could tell and I was glad my family has been through a lot after my father and then my brother dying last year. He had left to go to New York on business when we got the news of a fire in the apartment he was staying in. And they found bone remains. my mother and me and my step father even Talon we were all devastated. I know it was hard for my brother to accept my father's betrayal he couldn't believe my father would do such a thing. He never really did get over it even though he played it off as he had I mean we were young when it all happened. And we both loved our step father he was the only father figure we had because our father died when we were both so young. I was 10 and my brother was 8. But seeing my mom and everyone accept Carina as my mate has made me and my wolf happier than ever.

I kissed my mom goodnight and brought my little mate upstairs to my room and laid her down. she had started to stir a little and then she stopped. I had carefully taken her clothed off and put on a pair of my boxers and a t shirt on her they were both much too big for her because I was so muscular and tall it was cute. I took off my clothes and just put some boxers on and I climbed into bed and cuddled with my mate after a few minutes I too was taken over by the darkness.

Carinas pov

I woke up the next morning wrapped in warm arms and realizing I must have fallen asleep downstairs. I had to pee so bad but Draven had me in the death hold. I started wiggling out of his grip. And he tightened his hold around me. In a flash he flipped me over so he was on top and I was caged in his arms looking at him and he pressed his weight on me. He was really pushing my bladder to the edge.

"Where do you think you're going." he said with a devilish grin he looked so hot in the morning with his hair out of place and his blue eyes glistening.

"I have to pee, and I would like to go pee unless you want me to pee on you. And you would be cleaning it." I said

"What if I don't want to let you go." He said

I slapped his arm. "Get off so I can pee." I said.

"What's the Magic word." he said.

"Seriously, what are you 5." I said laughing.

"Yes, now I'm not moving till you say the magic word."

"Please." I said cooking my head to the side.

"please what." Oh God I was really going to pee.

"Pretty please."

"no"

"Please Draven"

"no"

"please master"

"Master. The f**k. no"

"please daddy"

"ooooo. I see. But. No."

"Please My Alpha." I said

"Much better" He said leaning down and kissing my neck and then my lips. When he finally got up I ran to the bathroom and he started laughing. When I got out I didn't see him so I walked to the closet to get a change of clothes.

"BOO" He said

I punched his arm for scaring me.

"why did you punch me." He said

"Oh gee I don't know maybe because YOU f*****g SCARED ME." I said

"I'm sorry." he said and he gave me a hug and kissed my forehead.

"Are you ready to meet my family today." I said

"Yes, but I'm honestly scared of how your dad will react. He must be protective of you." He said

"Yes, he is but if you just answer his questions and smile and nod you'll be okay and if you show you can protect me. he will love you. Also he might try to squeeze your hand when he shakes it, you know try to size out your strength." I said

"Ahh, okay, well I'll be prepared. I won you over so I doubt your father will be hard." he said

"Well there is a difference, we have a mate bond that's like strong as f**k. you don't have that with my dad so you'll actually have to bond with him." I said

"True but still I have a chance." he said.

After we packed up we were saying goodbye to his parents.

"Bye mom, Dad." he said.

"Bye sweetie, call me let me know how everything goes." she said

" Thank you, for taking the time to meet me and I enjoyed meeting you, Mr and Mrs Reymond." I said

"You're welcome and it was my pleasure also. And stop with the formalities you can call me Savannah or Mom." she said smiling

"You too call me Trey or dad." Said Trey.

"Well okay Mom, Dad. Can't wait to see you guys again." I said and they hugged me.

"Now call me when everything is done so we can do the announcement and then the marriage and then the ceremony. I want Grandbabies already." She said and me and Draven laughed.

"Mom, no rush we still have time." Draven said.

"I know but I want to be a grandma already. Not like your brother is finding a mate soon he's too full of himself." she said and we laughed and then it was time to leave we didn't want to be late I already told my parents we were coming and my father doesn't like people who are late.

The ride back to New York was fun we listened to music and sang with each other. Also my parents live in Brooklyn so it was a little longer to get there. Before we stopped at my house Draven went to pick up a bottle of wine and flowers he really wanted to make an impression which I loved. No one has done this for me before and I loved it.

We got to the house and I knocked on the door. My baby sister answers the door Alina she is 8 years old. Once she saw me she jumped into my arms and gave me a hug.

"I missed you" Alina said.

" I missed you too baby." I said to her. My siblings were like my own kids I practically raised them because I was always watching them and taking care of them while my father was working and my mother was doing things.

we walked into the living room and my parents were there. "Hey sweetheart." My father said pulling me into a hug.

"Hi, dad, Hi mom" I said hugging them both.

Draven came closer to me. My father looked like he was sizing him up. My other siblings came down you had Angelina 16, Sabrina 13, Santino 9 and well you guys already met Alina. Yes, I know the ina my parents had a theme with names. Though neither of them had ina at the end of their names my dad was Albertocosimo and yes that's just his first name but they call him Al for short and my mom is Jennifer.

"So this is the man who stole your heart I believe." My mom said

"Yes, this is Draven, my Fiance." I said.

"Nice to meet you both. Miss this is for you. And sir this is for you." Draven said handing my mother the flowers and my father the wine. "These are beautiful thank you. Handsome and a gentleman." my mom said.

" Not much of a gentleman, if he were he'd have the decency to ask for my blessing before asking for my daughters hand in marriage." My father said.

"Sir, I'm sorry about that I should have, but your daughter means the world to me I mean she is smart successful tough and a great business woman. And I love her I couldn't let her slip out of my hands. I meant no disrespect. I just want to be the lucky man who gets to be with your daughter." Draven said and my father's look had softened.

he took Dravens hand and as I said he would he squeezed it and from the looks of it Draven squeezed back hard but not hard enough to break his hand. My father looked at me with an approving smile.

"Well at least I know you can protect my daughter, you are strong." my dad said.

"So who's ready to eat." my mother said.

She had made lasagna with meatballs.

"This lasagna is very good, better than my cooks." Draven said

"why thank you Draven." my mom said looking at me like she approved of my choice

"You have cooks." My dad said

"Yes well I come from a wealthy family and I own two businesses so I have cooks. Of course when I can I cook for myself and my family but I have chefs because well I have a large family." Draven said. My father nodded

"So what businesses do you own?" my father asked

" I own Mannaro Electrician company and Mannaro Tech." Draven said and I kid you not my fathers eyes widened.

"You own the world's most successful technology company." My father asked

"Yes, sir, I do." Said Draven.

"Wow. That is impressive." My father Said.

And Draven smiled and he squeezed my hand. I was happy it seemed like my family was really accepting him.

After that we finished dinner and talking Draven helped me and my mom do the dishes.

"Hey Draven do you want to play Mortal Kombat with me." said my brother

"Sure buddy, Let me just help your mom and sister clean up." Draven said. He really was sweet. It melted my heart. It was nice seeing my brother take a liking to him.

"Nonsense, sweetie, Me and Carina got this you've done enough go play with that son of mine." My mom said.

"Are you sure mam cause I can help. It's the least I can do." Draven said

"Yea it's fine plus it'll give me and my daughter time to gossip. Go ahead." she said "And you can call me mom." she said

"Well then alright, Mom. I will go play with your son and leave you two ladies to talk." he said and walked out.

"Where did you find him. he is so handsome and a gentleman and he is wealthy not that you need the money you are wealthy enough but still nice to have a successful man by your side as well." she said.

"Actually we met in one of my clubs and yea he is great." I said and me and my mom talked some more. When we were finished I went into the living room to find my brother and Draven playing Mortal Kombat.

"I beat you again with Kano." My brother said laughing.

"I know Damm you are really good at thid game." Said Draven.

they played 3 more games and then I decided to call it a night.

"Bye mom. Bye Dad." I said and hugged them

"Thank you for having me and being so welcoming." Said Draven.

And surprisingly it was my dad who spoke.

"Nonsense, we enjoyed the company, come by anytime you want. welcome to the family son. And you better take care of my daughter. And if you break her heart you'll be wishing you weren't born." My father Said.

"Always, even though she protests I will always take care of and protect her. And I would never dream of it sir, she is it for me." Draven said.

"Well then, you cal call me dad." He said and both of my parents hugged him.

Then Santino and Alina jumped on him and gave him hugs. It was so cute. I snapped a photo of it.

"make sure you send me that." said Draven.

"Will do" I said

And we left and just on time his mother called.

"It went great mom, they loved it. Yea okay, ill let her know. Love you too." he hung up.

" Good news I suppose?" I asked.

"Why yes my mate. I told my mother everything went great so now we can start the announcements which means Inviting every pack and your family and mafia to the pack house. which will be hosted next week" He said.

And so it begins the start of the ceremony.

Meanwhile

"Boss, I have just heard they are having their announcement to announce that Draven has found his mate. When do you want to move."

"We will move soon. But we won't take anything just injure a few warriors and make it look like hunters not wolves so bring your men not mine. I can't have him know about me yet."

"Yes, Boss"

I grabbed my whiskey and sat by my window. We will meet again soon Draven just you wait but first. A little taste of horror first.
